"The selection of checks was great, and ordering seemed easy. Then I ran into issues. I had to go back to my order three times before confirming because they kept adding charges for features I did not want or need, and repeatedly declined. Each time I went back to my order and declined the features, the price went down, until finally it was gone. I placed my order, and got ready to wait. Shipping charges were astronomical, but I got a good deal on my checks, so fair, right? So I waited. A few days later, I checked my order status. 'Canceled.' What? Why? When? I needed these checks quickly. I emailed the company, and then I called them. They explained that something on my account was 'flagged,' so it automatically canceled. They had no idea what our why. The rep told me to call during my bank's business hours the next day to rectify the situation. So... The next day I received a response to my email, saying that I had canceled the order. Ok, but no. So, I called during business hours, but this representative refused to assist me in the way I was told it would work. He insisted that my bank had to fax him all of my information. This didn't sound right at all. I checked with my bank, and faxing my personal information is against banking policies. I figured that much, but they confirmed it. I ended out ordering checks through my own bank at a higher cost. I will never deal with Checks Unlimited again. "

"They have a $12.50 S&H charge. This is actually ON TOP of your shipping charge which can be anywhere from $5-$10.

You don't hear about this charge until right at the END of the checkout process. This is purposeful since you won't want to cancel the process since you spent 10min "customizing your checkbook."

This is deceptive, and you total cost will be significantly higher than competitors. Avoid this company!"

"I placed an order with them. Advertise, FREE custom lettering, FREE box of Checks, FREE shipping and handling. I picked my Checks, order 1 box $5.50, chose my lettering and sent in my order. They filled it then sent me a BILL for additional $13.00? Gave NO explanation of what this bill was for? Makes NO sense, because I received NO phone call, no email and yet it was their choice to proceed? I got tired of the monthly bills after I first wrote to them to say I owed NO money. I sent them another $5.00 and wrote "paid in full" in memo line. They cashed it and sent me another bill. A friend told me of a similar experience. They should have their business license pulled!"

"I placed an order for my business check about 30 days ago, and I paid a lot more for overnight delivery. the never delivered the check, or called me for any more information. I called them three time and they were so disrespectful on phone and also hang on me. on the third time the lady on phone was nasty and put me on hold for over an hour. That will be my last order with this company. over the years i order so many times and everything was as expected. but at this time they lost a good client.

When I called and asked why I was charged so much - can you imagine - they told me "well, the offer you sent in was for NEW customers only and you have ordered before" - are they KIDDING?? The form I sent in did not say for "new" customers only - and yes, I ordered before - but NEVER again!! They have lost me as a customer -
If you are one of the few among us who STILL write checks occasionally either go to your bank and get freakin' FREE checks or try another company but avoid this Rip-off company like the Plague - they deserve to go out of business for their disreputable treatment and hidden fees - I SINCERELY hope they do go out of business -

"Magically the number of checks in a box has decreased from 140 to 100 not to mention you don’t even get a box. Not you get 2 packs of checks stuck to a price of heavy paper, which comes in an envelope, which constitutes your “box”. You also pay $3.45 per box on top of the cost for your 40 less checks. "If I could give zero stars, I would. Stay away from this company! About five months ago, I placed an order using a promotion code. In my checkout page, the price displayed exactly what the cost was supposed to be with the code. AFTER entering my credit card information and hitting submit, I received a confirmation page that said I had been charged an amount that was over $30 from the price that was displayed on my checkout page. I'm not sure how it is even legal to change the price and charge a higher amount only after payment information has been submitted. Getting in contact with this company is a nightmare. They will not discuss things over email, and I had to call multiple times a day (literally a good 10-20 calls a day) to actually reach a person. I finally got through to someone who could not explain to me why I was charged over $30+ than I should have been, and claimed that they could not help or cancel the order. After some fighting, they agreed to refund me the difference. A few days later, I checked my credit card statement, and I was actually charged an addition $40+ than I should have been - even more than was displayed on my confirmation page! After multiple attempts via email and phone to try and resolve this, I finally contested the charge with my credit card because I could not get through. I just received a letter today that they sent this charge to collections rather than disputing with my credit card company as they should have if they wanted to argue against the contested charge. I am now working with my credit card company to sort things out, but this whole experience has been one big headache. I will never order from here again, and I will certainly not recommend this company to anyone else. Stay away - there are much better, reliable, reasonably-priced check companies out there. It is truly not worth ordering from this one. "

"I used this company years ago and had no problems, in the past when ordering a box of checks I received a box of checks (like 8 books of checks) and this time I paid $50 for 2 boxes of checks, thinking I would be receiving 16 books of checks or so, I received 4 books total, 2 books per box. what!!!! that is ridiculous!!! "Ordered checks online 12/10/19 from Checks Unlimited, paid Extra for Tracking option when I placed the order.

1/14/20, item still did not arrive, called and was told that tracking is not available for Hawaii, Guam or Alaska. They could easily set up their online system when orders are being mailed to these 3 states to indicated that tracking is not available - instead, they gladly took Extra Payment for Tracking but did not provide the service. I thought my order was secured because I paid extra for tracking and tracking would make it secure knowing where the order was at all times.

Checks Unlimited had no regard, concern or care that all my Personal (name, address, tel. no.) AND Financial (bank, routing no., account no.) was lost or that my four boxes of checks are who knows where. This is Checks Unlimited exact words "if whomever got them and their intentions was to forge your signature, they would have done it by now" ????? She was a robot, "I can only do two options 1. refund you or 2. resend checks to you". She also argued and defended their business practice - "any business who has to mail something uses another shipping service and we can not rely on how the shipping service performs".

Checks Unlimited did not have any business practice in place to tell me when the checks were mailed to me and when they should have arrived. All they could confirm was the date the checks were printed. They said it should have been mailed out United States Priority Mail but did not have confidence when and if it in fact it was mailed -
"we do alot of shipping and can not follow up if orders have been completed". What would you like for me to do, 1. refund the order which has not been received or 2. reprint and resend .

How about:

Option 3: I'm so sorry, we will inform our online tech dept. to change our online algorithm to indicate that No Tracking is available when check address deliveries indicate the 3 states where tracking is not available so that in future Tracking Charges will not be charged to checks being mailed to those 3 states and so that the Consumers in those 3 states do not get Charged for a service that is not available and will not be provided.

Option 4: I'm so sorry, may we please re-print, re-send the checks rush with security protection at no charge - PLUS please allow us to Refund you the Tracking Fee we charged you but did not provide the service.

When I asked to speak to a supervisor, the supervisor was worst - poor customer service skills - condescending, rude, she would interrupt and tell me that I should have indicated that I'm from Hawaii and know that tracking is not available. She said I've been refunded, what more did I want.

WARNING EVERYONE - this company who is handling sensitive personal and financial information does not have secure practices in place for your protection. They have misleading options, unreliable, unsecure and very poor customer service. They have no care or regard for your sensitive information and placing it into the wrong hands or sending it to who knows where, if it was even sent - poor business records that they are unsure what happen to my order.

"Additional offers are added to your order in a sneaky and hard to decline way when ordering checks from Checks Unlimited on the internet . Get your checks from someone else who doesn't try to add extra costs, or at least requires you to actively sign up for them rather than find a way to decline them."
