"I’ve been purchasing prescription dog food for over 3 years without any issues, ever! I had to put my sweet boy to sleep on Monday. I called to cancel my ongoing subscription and the guy I spoke to was so kind as I cried the entire time I was talking to him. Not only did they offer to refund me the entire amount for the 1/2 bag of dog food I had left, but today someone delivered a beautiful bouquet of flowers to my door with a note of condolence! The staff who represents Chewy, sincerely care for the well-being of our animals! I am grateful for them and will make them my go to with my next fur baby! "
"My pet had to be euthanized and I called Chewy about a bag of prescription food that was just delivered. The customer service was fantastic. They credited my account, had me donated the food to a local shelter, and then a few days later I received flowers because of my pet passing away. It brought me tears. That small gesture will keep my a Chewy customer forever. Thank you Chewy!"
"Better than Amazon for price & fast delivery, but that's not why I love them. Our dog died recently, and yesterday was his birthday - yesterday afternoon there was a postcard in the mailbox from Chewy saying "Hope you get lots of treats on your birthday, Petey.". Chewy had no way of knowing that Petey was gone, but the card reopened a painful wound for my wife. She called Chewy to ask that they take us off their mailing list, and a wonderful lady named Angelica expressed her sympathy. We thought that was that, but this morning (less than 24 hours later) my wife opened the door to a beautiful bouquet from Angelica. I didn't think that companies and people like this existed anymore. They truly live what their ads claim - they are customer obssesed people who LOVE pets. No other company comes close to their level of authentic compassion and outstanding customer service."
"I ordered my dog's pain meds on 2/11 and got notification it shipped that afternoon and would likely arrive on the 14th. On the 17th, after I had been checking the tracking for days, I finally got an email saying that my order had been delayed. It said that it was expected in the next few days, so I shouldn't worry. I was already out of pain meds and the tracking info still wasn't updated. On the 20th I called, and they had no idea where the order was or if it was still even going to come. The woman submitted a new order, but said it wouldn't arrive until at least the 23rd. No rush, I guess. She said that I could order a few pills to hold me over, but I would need to contact my vet for a new prescription- my vet is closed for the weekend and I live 2 hours away from the closest town. My poor dog is in pain and the petite aspirin I have for him doesn't really do much. I'm cancelling my auto ship. I'd rather pay more or go out of my way than risk this again. "
"I have been receiving my dogs prescription dog food for about a year on auto shipments and always had a reminder before it shipped, which was great because I could change it if she didn't need it at that time. I had received a new bag that had not yet been opened and had the unfortunate decision to have my dog put to sleep for health reason and old age. I then emailed Chewy to see if I could return the unopened bag still in the box and was told they would give a full refund and to donate it. I was shocked to say the least and did just that. The very next day the refund was in my acct, so again shocked that it went in that quick. Just 2 days after putting my dog to sleep there is a bouquet of flowers at my door from Chewy. I got teary eyed and am still in awe at the compassion this company has for their clients. I could only give them a 5 star but I believe they deserve more. Thank you Chewy for giving me the faith to believe that there are still good compassionate large companies out there in this world of turmoil we all live in. "
"Chewy has the one product I can't find in store for my cats. They also carry the dog food I must have for my dog's special diet. They are quick to respond with questions. Never disappointed!! Go Chewy!!! "
"We've bought from Chewy for years. My last review was in 2014. Since then, no complaints, and many good experiences. One time, we did receive an item that seemed kinda poor quality, and Chewy took our word, refunded the charge, and told us to keep the item. It's been good. Fast, reliable service. No complaints.
It turns out we failed to update Chewy when Riley, our Corgi, died some months ago. They send him a birthday greeting in January. It was sad, but we updated their records, and advised that he had died.
Today, we received a dozen roses in a vase from Chewy, with the following note:
"We're so sorry to hear of your loss of Riley and our hearts go out to you. We know this time is tough and we're always here if you need anything. Love, Melissa, Chewy.com."
Just astounding and wonderful, kind, thoughtful, and touching. And smart. We'll never forget it."
"Chewy is a real class act. We were not frequent customers, but we sure will be from this point forward. Recently, I make my first purchase and ordered from Chewy several hundred dollars of medications and supplements for our elderly and sick dog. Before we received the shipments days later, my wife made the agonizing decision to save our beloved dog from further suffering. Several days after the packages arrived, my wife called Chewy to ask about any return policy under the circumstances. Remarkably, Chewy's customer service representative advised my wife that there was no need to return the products. She told my wife that our account would be credited the full amount of the purchase, and we should donate the products to a shelter or other place that would give us peace. That was just awesome, and it reflects the generous and compassionate heart of this Corporate Citizen. But wait; there is more. The other day I looked outside the front door and there was a box addressed to my wife. She opened the box and, to her delight, there was a dozen beautiful, long-stem roses and a card from Chewy sending condolences for the loss of our cherished dog. That is just priceless. I applaud Chewy. It expected nothing and Chewy did so much. Certainly, Chewy is invested in the smallest customer it serves. That is truly special in this day and age. Thank you, Chewy. "
"I am so done with this company and their useless and uncaring support staff. I have ordered 4x since November and each order has a problem. I have had missing items, items that just never show up, and 3 out of 4 of the orders they give me tracking and delivery dates and yet the package never actually ships, it sits in AZ past the delivery date. They tell me I can get a refund or a new order shipped but I have to wait for 5-days past the delivery date to do that.. and then I call 5-days past and they say one week, so 2-days later I try again and they say it's 2-weeks. I am so done! Good luck, it's like gambling in Vegas, every order here is in the house's favor."
"On their website, Chewy often gives incomplete or inaccurate information about dog items like harnesses and leashes. Often, when we have ordered merchandise based on Chewy's online information, what we received merchandise was unusable because sizes or features were not as advertised by Chewy. In the tines when we called Chewy about these Chewy-generated problems, they inconsistently either refunded the full amount or only part of the amount charged to our credit/debit cards. This last time -and it IS the last time for me- the Chewy representative blamed the shortage of our refund on "the system" and claimed she could not override that inhuman system to make things right, even after I pointed out how inconsistent their system had been with us. And concerning Chewy representatives: Some of them appear to be contracted people working from their homes, and if you call the Chewy 800 number at 8:30 on a weekday morning, THAT system may route the call to a contracted person who will be woken up by the call and be so groggy that they won't record all the details of your concerns. My advice to fellow pet lovers: Stop shopping at impersonal, mechanical, distant mega-corporations like Chewy, and support your local, more helpful pet store."
"We bought a heated cat bowl and a customized cat collar we were told the collar was arriving today and instead the bowl arrived today we opened it and it didn't work at all. We also never received the cat collar. We paid 50$ and they scammed us."
"I have been shopping at Chewy.com for a little over 2 years because of their excellent pharmacy for pet meds. My dog was diabetic, so that meant getting Vetsulin, syringes, and prescription food for him. Chewy.com delivered all despite the pandemic and shipping delays that were being felt across the nation from all online businesses. On the day that my dog's vetsulin was being shipped I had to have my precious Jude put down. Chewy.com notifies you the deadline for making changes to your autoship and that date had passed. Despite the anguish I was feeling, I called and asked if they could cancel order. I did not want them to ship something that another diabetic dog needed. They were so kind and said they would cancel the order and request the order be returned to them. I checked the next day and order had been canceled and no charges were on my payment source. Today the doorbell rang, and Ralph from Chewy.com had sent me flowers with a touching card expressing their condolences. I called and thanked them. I am now writing this through very tearful eyes. I am overwhelmed by their kindness."
"Ordered a gift ten days before the holiday and the status kept showing 'preparing to ship'. I canceled the order and received multiple emails from reps that it would be canceled. Guess what, it was still shipped after the holiday. Will never order from this company again. I just noticed on BBB Better Business Bureau they have many complaints, not a company I will do further business with."
"I've been using Chewy exclusively for over 3 years and EVERY time I speak with a rep, it's like talking to a friend. Their reps make the company shine, with awesome customer service and a total willingness to help in any way possible. Delivery is also top notch. We get heavy stuff like 40lb pails of litter, cases of canned food delived right to the front door-instead of dealing with in-store or curb side pick up issues elsewhere. (Plus, It's bliss not having to haul it all from the garage up 2 flights of stairs). Really, start using Chewy and you'll see for yourself how great of a time saver it is to get EXACTLY what you want, for a great price, in a fast way and right to your door. "
"I have been ordered from Chewy for almost 3 years and any time I have had any issues this company goes above and beyond to make it right even if it’s not their fault! The courier service kept apparently dropping the boxes causes the canned foods to be dented and some broke open. As soon as I informed the company they immediately replaced the order without me even asking!! I am disabled and the 1st thing that made me begin using Chewy was the ad that they deliver “right to your door” and the first few orders, again the courier, didn’t want to carry the boxes uphill to my door and left them in the driveway. I contacted Chewy and explained I had to pay a neighbor to bring them up for me. Chewy then added special instructions to my shipping labels ensuring my boxes were, as advertised, delivered right to my door. Recently I had packages come up missing (probably porch pirates due to the holidays) and I informed Chewy I had not gotten my order. They resent a replacement order within an hour of being contacted by me and sent a personal email to me apologizing and telling me to give my pets (and they put the pet’s names!!) snuggles from them. I am BEYOND touched by this company coupled with the fact that they support many rescue efforts. I would never use any other pet food supplier just Chewy!!"
