"I ordered a refurbished GPS from CompuVest and quickly received a call that there was a problem with the credit card which was a one time limited amount credit card number. I switched to PayPal to expedite the order. It turned out I had set too small an amount for the temporary credit card so that was my fault. The caller was very courteous.

After placing the order, the item disappeared from the CompuVest web site. There was a quantity 1 showing a week later so I didn't panic although my account continued to display 'Processing...'.

Thirteen days after placing the order the GPS had again disappeared from the site and my status was still 'Processing...'. I had not received any status updates after the initial automated order acknowledgment. I emailed CompuVest and received a response a couple of days later that "We sent a PayPal request to in the amount of and didn't receive payment. Item looks to be sold out at the moment."

I sent a followup email to CompuVest the following day after seeing no changes in my PayPal account. No response.

Seven days after receiving the email from CompuVest stating they had sent a 'request' to PayPal I initiated a dispute through PayPal. The charge to my PayPal account was reversed within 4 hours.

Was it a simple procedural mistake when CompuVest thought they had reversed the charge? Perhaps.

I down rated CompuVest due to absence of status updates and inadequate handling of the refund."

"Item was advertised as new item, was removed from original box, and the case had scratches on it already. Was obviously a customer return. Average shipping, and packaging, but product was crappy and not as adverstised. Not really worth it to return since I have to pay shipping to send the bad item back. Buyers beware!!!

***After posting this I was surprised to recieve an email from a represntitive appologizing for the item I had recieved, and they did issue a refund, which I thought was very nice of them. I would consider doing business with them after seeing how their customer service works. Still not the greatest experience, but they did make a great effort to make things right, which is rare nowadays. Thank you very much."
