"Although it's been a long time, I'm finally making good on my promise of a review.
I've bought from Computer HQ twice.
I got a GeForce video gaming card from them (via pricewatch) and later a high performance notebook hard drive.
Both times they were the store with the best price.
Although there was a mix up with the video card order, their customer service more than made up for it. Steven at Computer HQ was very quick to respond to every email. He not only fixed the issue by sending me a DVI adapter, he also issued me credit for the order mix up. It's very rare that you get customer service as fast and pleasing. It was great to get prompt email responses from him, and not some irrelevant form letter days later like some other vendors.
Given their competitive prices, they are a good place to buy from. With the fantastic customer service I received, I'd be willing to buy from them even if someone else undercut their price."
"Extremely satisfied with this company. Only place I could find this product (Thermalright HS/F) was from them. There was some confusion with Paypal and the lady in customer service I talked to was prompt and helpful. Product arrived packaged very well and unflawed whatsoever. They use DHL or whatever company that is to ship, which is iffy in my book (prefer FedEx) but DHL got it to me well enough, even though their shipping notification system could use faster updating. This is NOT a rant on shipping companies, however, so I will simply say again that I have no qualms about ordering from this company again."
"Completely screwed over by this store. Ordered a motherboard that showed literally hundreds of units in stock. Payed by Paypal because of the security problems this store has had in the past. I even contacted them to verify my order and the payment process and amount.
So today I get a message from Paypal that my money has been refunded. The company did post a brief note on the refund, saying the item has been sold out (yeah, right. From hundreds available to nothing in an hour from order to payment). No e-mail from ComputerHQ to me directly.
A good price had made me ignore the terrible ratings this company has. They seem to deserve them. Buyer beware. At least I got my money back."
"Warning, do not deal with this company. I found them through a pricewatch link for an asus a8v e deluxe motherboard. Their web page had the same deal with over 100 of this item listed as available at the price when I ordered. I phoned to be sure the item was as described, in stock and available. I ordered the mobo and made other purchasing decisions based on this price. They renegged on the order, said it was OOS. This company is a scam! Do not trust them"
"Item was as described, no problems, follow up to a e mail question was quick and helpfull."
""I just received my order for 2 XFX Geforce 6800GT PCIe retail box card. I have been searching for a pair of 6800GT PCIe cards for a while now and most reseller's are telling me that the product has not been released yet. I was skeptical but they showed 40 pieces in stock at the time of purchase, since I am an intl customer, the price with the shipping fee came out a bit higher than i wanted to spend but i needed to complete my dream system. After I wired the payment, I was happy to see my package show up a week later. I am very satisfied with my purchase and can proudly show off my system to my friends now!"
"Ordered a DVD-ROM drive (AOpen 16x DVD-ROM, part number 91.4ED37.474). Website showed 59 units in stock at the time of order, and still shows 59 at the time I write this. Yet, I received an email telling me that the drive is out of stock with no estimate as to when it might be available. I've cancelled my order.
My conclusion:
Save yourself some trouble and don't waste time trying to order from this place. I certainly won't bother with them again."
"Had a bad time with an order from ComputerHQ.com where I placed an order for a hard to find item (OCZ520ADJ-EU), which is a PFC model of an already awesome power supply. Anyway...
It said "In Stock", I ordered, recieved the confirmation email, and then it sat "in progress" for too long. I decided to call to see what the hold up was. It rang for about 8 rings (that's long to me), and the individual that answered put me on hold right after my simple question. She came back and simply stated "one week". I asked, "one week total, or one week more?". She replied, "one week". Thanks, but no thanks. Feeling that shifty feeling, I canceled.
When I get home from work, it seems they decided to send me an "out of stock" notice that was compiled, ironicly, 20 minutes after the time I called them. So...it took about 2 days and a phone call to them for them to realize they couldn't fulfill an order.
If it says "In stock", then it should be in their store or warehouse. Obviously, this isn't the case at ComputerHQ. Even as I write this, it still states that this item is "in stock" and available for others to go through this same process.
Following this, I went through the SAME problem with Microstorm.com. Looking at the two sites, and the same problem, with the same item...I'd like to point out that these may be the same company. I don't believe in coincidence...AVOID if you like trust in a company. USE THEM if you really don't care when, or IF, you get your item.
Not really mad as my card wasn't charged...that's the silver lining here. I'd actually attempt to use them if they just be up front with stocked items as I am now delayed 3 days on this computer build and thusly makes ME look bad."
"When I finally received my product, it did not work. It took extremely long to get the information I need to return it. Now that it has been returned, I have been waiting months for a replacement"
"I had a horrible experience with this seller. It charged my credit card immediately, then waited four days to finally ship my card. I only recieved my card 7 days later. Total time 11 days after my purchase.
I ordered a Sapphire ATI Radeon X800 Pro Vivo and instead they shipped me a ATI Radeon X800 Pro. The invoice had the audacity to say a Sapphire ATI Radeon X800 Pro 256MB GDDR3, 256-bit, DVI/VIVO, 8X AGP Retail. I got an ATI Radeon X800 box.
Avoid buying. Go to Newegg.com instead.
Amendment: I've been communicating with their customer service manager (I think) Ted Chen and he was understanding about the whole process and helped me get my refund back.
Since customer service was good and prompt, I would really reconsider buy from this shop again the next time."
"Ordered 4 Maxtor Retail Box for the lowest price I can find on the web, hard drives showed up in 2 days. Will shop again with them."
"telling u the truth i was a little bit worried of buying online as i don't live in the USA so i thought more than once and finally i decided to give it a shot and buy an ATI X800 PRO the card was shipped after they recived my Wire transfer and i recived it in 4 days didn't even needed to check any thing with the customer service as i recived the card in perfect condition and i am looking forward to do business again with this great company "
"Found a Maxtor retail boxed hard drive on pricegrabber.com, they had a low price and I took a chance with them. After 3 days I received my item and it was as advertised. Will definitely do more business with them."
"Great Job. I ordered an XP 2600+ processor with the barton core. I received exactly what I ordered and the DHL shipping was unbelievably FAST. I ordered the part on Friday and received the part on Monday. I will order from them again."
"2nd order from these folks. Shipped fast enough, no complains!!!! Will by again soon."
