"I ordered overnight shipping. However it did not come overnight but this is unrelated to ComputerHQ because airborne had a routing issue. This leaves ComputerHQ off the hook. It still came the second day which is fine as well. I ordered a SY-K7VTA PRO motherboard and two fans. Came just as I ordered and works perfectly."

"I ordered a mobo online on Feb 18th. Their web site says 'orders usually ship same day'. I called to check status on Feb 20th; they said the order was shipping, coincidentally, 'today'. I kept checking the online status of my order, which was 'Processed'. Processed means they've charged your credit card, but not yet shipped the order. Today, Feb 24th, I called ComputerHQ again, but no answer at any of the prompts. Now I'm stuck. No merchandise, no way to cancel the order so I can go elsewhere. I do not recommend doing business with this company."

"They had the model number of a PC case I ordered on their website listed wrong so they sent me the wrong case then when I asked to replace it with the one I wanted they charged me a 15% restocking fee and it took them 2 and a half weeks as well as 8 phone calls from me to get an RMA out of them"

"My experience with computerhq: a couple of weeks ago I placed an order for a 21" Sony monitor. Great price, shiped out the same day, got in in less then a week. Brand new, factory sealed, works flawless. A couple of days after recieving the monitor, I placed an order for AIW ATI 9700 PRO RETAIL SEALED video card. Shipped out the next business day, recieved it within 1 week. I open the Airborne box, I find a retail box inside, but not retail sealed. Thinking the ooriginal wrapping was damagend and they just rewrapped it, I open the box. What i found: seal on antistatik bag with the video card si also broken (the card itself looked new), the manual had sure signs on it that it was "used" and also the power cable which connecs the videocard to power supply was MISSING. I call them, talk to a sales rep. She told me to fill in RMA, return product. (-15% + return shipping= approx $80 for me)I did not accept that, I asked to speak to a manager. The manager was off that day(!!??), but they gave me his e-mail address, I should send him e-mail because he checks emails from home. I wriet him, send him pictures of the stuff I found. He replys within 1 hour. I exchange 2 email with him. He promisses to me he will look into this issue. I wait 1 day.. no news. The second day I send e-mail, asking whats up. In a couple of hours I recieve phonecall (!!) and e-mail from the lost prevention dept. saying that I should send back the product, and they will replace it with a brand new one!!! That tim i was already sick and tired of the whole thing so I just asked for the missing cable.
conclusion: just for saving a couple of $ over other companies, it's not worth it. If you think about having to return a product to them (at your cost) you might not save anything. Sometimes its not even the money, just the feeling you got ripped of..

"The website is very nicely designed and their prices are generally very good. I found them via Pricewatch while I was looking for a color cartridge for my printer. One was listed for my Z42 and I ordered it and the black one at the same time. When I received it, it was the cartridge I ordered however it was not meant for my Z42. Their description on pricewatch was changed to reflect the correct cartridge, but it was too late for me at this point. I made them aware of it and they told me they would exchange it for the correct cartridge and I just had to create and RMA. I submitted an RMA online (easy process) however, they rejected it because they shipped what I ordered. So I had to take a 15% penalty to get the refund. I was able to make contact with them via email and they were prompt responding. I would have liked them to stand behind their service a bit more...I should have checked the cartridge number first, but it was definitely listed incorrectly on pricewatch. I was a little disappointed that they told me that they would swap it for the other but then they didn't...oh well. I might do business with them again for my personal use but not for business purchases."

"I ordered a motherboard and CPU and was informed several days later that they were out of stock. I send 3 emails asking for the ship date, but none of them were answered. Meanwhile, they listed my hardware as "in stock" the entire time even though they told me that it was out of stock and sent me a substitute brand of RAM.

Also, their phone support was hard to reach and nearly useless. They refused to give me the any details, and finally gave me the email of a live person, which got things roling after a nasty letter. Finally, almost three weeks later, my stuff shipped. I did get my hardware, and a good deal, so it could have been worse.

"Quick response to order. Package arrived well under estimated time. Well packed in new, sturdy box with styrofoam peanuts. Parts ordered worked flawlessly, however I suspect the motherboard I purchased has been used previously. It is an older model for a decent price, but this should be explicitly noted in the order. I don't know if I would have purchased the board at the same price knowing this."

"Nice website, friendly people, sloppy business practices.

I placed an order prior to their opening time on Wednesday for an in-stock mobo, and the order was immediately processed. When no further progress was apparent on Thursday, I called to hear that the item would be shipped in the next day. On Friday I called again to hear that it would be shipped in the next day or two. I asked whether the item was in stock, and the sales rep said she didn't really know. I called again on Monday and the same sales rep said she would check with shipping and call me right back. I called a couple of hours later, to hear that the sales rep couldn't find the guy who does the shipping. She said it would be shipped in the next day or two. When I noted that I had heard that before several times before, we both chuckled (for different reasons). I tried to cancel the order online several hours later, but the cancel button was unresponsive. I called only to get an answering machine. I called again one half hour later and successfully canceled the order.

Bottom line is that although they have a promising site and generally good prices, they are not exactly operating like a well-oiled machine. They seem to be nice people, but maybe they are just too busy to care about their customer's perceptions. To be taken as a serious contender, ComputerHQ really ought to remain open on the weekends. They also ought to take a closer look at highly rated resellers and rework a more effective model for themselves. I ordered a CPU at the same time from NewEgg and had it in less than 48 hours. Most resellers keep me informed with emails and fresh status reports at their website.

It sure would be nice to have that motherboard (NewEgg didn't have the one I need). I placed a subsequent order for the mobo at AxionTech - we shall see how they do.

"website advertised athlon mp 1.5 ghz for $180. Lowest price on pricewatch for mp 1900 (which is really 1.53 ghz) was $335 at that time.

I called them up, and the receptionist kept insisting it was a 1.5ghz cpu. she even said the technical support department verified that it was 1.5ghz.

and I said it's one thing to have have a misprint on the website, when when your receptionist/salesperson says it's a 1.5 ghz cpu, and the so-called technical support staff says it's a 1.5ghz, then it better be a 1.5 ghz cpu, not an AMD 1500.

I called them up several times and each time I was placed on hold. After the fourth call, when I finally got through to the technical department, the guy on the phone nonchalantly said, "yes it's really the 1500 chip, it was just a misprint". He even had the nerve to say "well you should have been suspicious when you saw the price".

unfortunately for me, I didn't have enough money to buy anything faster, so I kept the mp1500. After posting this review on www.2cpu.com, several people reported the same problems with this company.

In other words, don't trust them.

that I received had been damaged. I inspected the mounting holes under magnification and found installation marks and circuit board damage (very obvious)! I

"I purchased three items. A Tyan motherboard, Microsoft Money 2002, and a Web-Cam. They were to be shipped standard mail. I emailed them nine days later asking where it was, and received no reply. The next day, I received the motherboard and Money. No web-cam. It was listed on the invoice and I was charged. I wrote them another email asking where the web-cam was. No response. I called and left a message, no response. I finally called and got someone on the phone-- first she hung up on me "by accident", then kept me on hold. She asked me to call back. She could barely speak English. And they didn't have the web-cam in stock. That's why their web-page explicitly said that it WAS in stock.

I do NOT suggest dealing with this retailer. They seem like a fly-by-night operation that does not place customer service or satisfaction high on their priority list. They said they would credit my account. We'll see.

I would suggest newegg or 3dcool --two of the best retailers I've seen (and I've used dozens upon dozens).

"**UPDATE**
After more than 6 weeks I have finally recieved the fan I originally ordered. It arrived via Airborne Express (DOH!) on Tuesday the 5th of November in perfect condition. Kudos to ComputerHQ for finally coming through on this. Honestly though, they have a lot of work to do to become a first-rate Internet reseller. I would advise anyone to steer clear of this company until they work out their many problems.

I ordered a Sony 1.44MB floppy drive and the "new" Coolermaster 80mm clear fan with blue LEDs, model TLF-R82. Their website showed both items in stock before and after I made the online purchase. I like the way their site is organized and the ordering process was efficient. Their shipping prices are extremely high, so I chose FedEx Ground at $11.08. Ouch.

After 3 days my order was listed as "locating stock" online. I wrote them an e-mail expressing my concern. The next morning I had a response explaining that the item was new, and that they had not received it from Coolermaster. I was told it should be available in 3 weeks. I checked and their site had been changed to reflect their stock (Oops!) They shipped the floppy drive (more on that in a second) and asked if I wanted to wait on the fan, or be credited the the purchase plus the difference in shipping. I told them I still wanted the fan and that I would wait (I still want it...) Now, after reading the stories here, and knowing that ComputerHQ will cancel my order after 30 days - without notifying me - I think I'll wait the 3 weeks, call them, then cancel my order if the fan isn't in stock.

Now I'm still waiting on my floppy drive (that I've already paid for). As I mentioned, I chose FedEx Ground, which should have taken 3 days from their offices in California, to me in Utah. I opped to allow them to change carriers if it would expedite my order (an option in their ordering process). So after e-mailing them they have taken the liberty of shipping my floppy drive via Airborne Express Ground, which will take 5 (FIVE!) days to get to me from California. Needless to say, that was not a smart move for them. Attention ComputerHQ: pay attention to your carriers' ground shipping maps so your customers don't wait 2 days longer than necessary.

Their prices are very competitive, and their website is nice and well structured, but I don't think I would order from them again if it means I have to go through this.

"I ordered a simple stick of 512MB of OCZ PC2700 DDR RAM from Computerhq.com. I ordered it on the 17th of September, and did not recieve an email telling me that the order did not go through due to a bad credit card entry (which was my fault) until too late in the day to call and correct the problem. So, I called the following day and stressed the fact that 2-day delivery was important to me. This is because because I have very limited time to work on the system that needs this RAM, due to military training obligations.
Regardless, it is 11:27PM Friday, Sept 20th, and I have not recieved the package I paid $20 extra to insure I recieved before the weekend, and probably won't see it till Monday now. To top it off NO TRACKING NUMBER OR EVEN SHIPPER INFO WAS PROVIDED, so I cannot even query the shipper as to the status of my package.

Because computerhq.com is closed on weekends, I cannot even find out what the problem is for 3 more days. My plans for working on the system I'm building over the weekend are shot. That, and I spent $20 for "2nd day air," which will be more like "5-day air" when all is said and done, if the package shows at all.

Do not go with any company like this unless Newegg.com doesn't have what you want...
