"Ordered a 51" LG Plasma. Paid $708. Good deal. Only hitch came when I received an e-mail from Cost Central offering me assistance with unloading the TV and what they called 'White Glove' service where you just sat and watched while the delivery person set the TV up. I didn't need the help so I left it alone.

Two days later I got an e-mail saying that my order was on hold and that I needed to call Cost Central immediately which I did and there on the phone they pitched the same delivery assistance. By the way; the 'White Glove' treatment costs $100. I gave the sales person an emphatic 'No'. She then told me to make sure that I didn't sign for the TV until I had actually set the TV up and was sure that it worked. I guess I was supposed to be frightened into paying the extra. Bottom line is that Cost Central is hiking their margins with extras which is OK but the whole putting the order on hold was a bit bizarre and heavy handed.

In the end the TV arrived. It works perfectly and I paid a low price so except for the extra service run-around it was all good."

Many people, and ordinarily I, would have a very serious problem with that ! While not the item I thought I was ordering, the item we received superbly meets our needs.

Ultimately I should have noticed the difference in the two model number's final two characters, D2 vs. U3.

Over a month later - why didn't the review go through before ? - and we are ecstatically happy with the new TV. Best of all the other reviews were right, the sound is quite acceptable, no need for a sound bar."
