"have made a bunch more orders with the new REFUND CREDITS, so far none of my IN-STOCK items have shipped and no reply from DVDsoon.com yet! It appears that they have billed my credit card but how can they use my REFUND CREDIT if credit card has already been billed. FRAUD !!!!!!!!!!!"
"Very bad reseller. Ordered on May 26, they already billed my mastercard. June 13, emailed. No response. June 19, emailed, no response again.
June 23, called the phone number, says that phone is disable until the administration is being given to another company and check the website for more details. No details whatsoever on the web. June 23 again, I emailed them. Received a "Permanent Failure: Illegal To address (invalid domain name) "****@****". Called Mastercard to report the fraud."
"I had credits at the DVDSoon store because of canceled orders, when this last order was shipped they charged me for the full amount ignoring that credit. When I contacted them via email about this they said to refuse the package and I'll get a full refund, that was over 3 months ago, since then I've been trying to reach them, they replied once asking me to allow more time for the pckage to be returned, so I did, since then all my emails are ignored and they have no one taking phone calls, so there is no way to reach them."
"I’m writing this review because with DVDSoon I’ve encountered a series of dishonest (but legal) practices that I truly feel compelled to tell others about. I believe they reflect a total disregard for customer rights to a degree that I almost find laughable (only because, at least in my case, it hasn’t cost me any more that $15).
First-I ordered a DVD that, only when I placed my order, did I find was backordered.
Second-My credit card was charged immediately, even though the item was on backorder and not shipped.
Third-After waiting for two weeks, when I cancelled my order I was only given credit and found out that that they have a no-refund policy.
Fourth (and here is the really good one)-I didn’t want to order anything else from them for fear that I would find out that it was out-of-stock after placing the order and I would build up more non-refundable credit. Then I saw that they said that they were changing this policy and would in the future only be charging after the order was shipped. Once I saw that the policy was changed, I started to place an order and found out that they only allow you to use 25% of your non-refundable store credit on any one order. This means that I would have to place four orders to get all of my money back.
I think any one of these practices would make a bad reseller, the four combined should qualify them for some kind of bad reseller award to put them far and above all of the other bad resellers. Even though they now only charge your credit card after the item is shipped, the fact they didn’t implement this before shows that they will do what they can get away with.
Please do not use these people, I beg you. Having them exist and thrive will only encourage others to do what they do.

"Avoid this retailer! Cancels orders and won't refund money already paid. Tells you to re-order but at substantially higher price. Takes months to receive product... if you're lucky! Absolutely non-responsive customer service. AVOID! AVOID! AVOID!"
"My last order was cancelled by the company because they change the rules.
Here's my store: Under the available credit in my account, I got some refundable credit left (and no non-refundable credit). So, I used it to get that order because their refund option to my credit card was disabled. For those who didn't know, before they change the rules, they charge your credit card when you order the(s) item(s) (and not when they ship it). Now, they will charge it when they ship the order but those who order before get screwed in the process!
Right now, my credit is mark as "non-refundable" (before, it was refundable). The worst thing is that the credit can only apply to 25% of the total of the order (as of their new rules on August 12th 2005).
Finally, if you were a privileged member (paid 50 bucks a year) to get some discount, it is no longer available. I think it is been less than a year than the program first started...
Overall, be prepare to have some surprises with the company. It is the most unpredictable company I have dealt with over the Internet. I do frequently order from many stores and DVDsoon is among the worst! To make things worse, it is not that fast and not that reliable..."
"Today DVDsoon cancelled all of my pending orders, supposedly due to a change in accounting software, awarding me store credit for those orders. DVDsoon recommends that I re-place the orders using the store credit. But their prices are higher now, and they are charging significantly for shipping! (All of my orders are from when shipping was free.)
But here is the ILLEGAL part. Their Web site says that they DO NOT GIVE REFUNDS. Obviously, that is illegal for orders cancelled by the seller. I called up DVDsoon, and their automated system says to use a particular menu item on their Web site which does not exist. I could not get a human, because the automated system claims they are already closed for the day.
I will try again tomorrow. If I do not get a refund I will have to escalate. Do they really want the FBI to confiscate all merchandise of theirs crossing the border?
EDIT: OK, now they're really looking like crooks. They are no longer answering their phone at all--I only get voice mail."
"Horrible store. I ordered in October and it's now May and still nothing. The game is supposedly on backorder. Their excuse? The game is out of production and it will take them several months to get it back in - a total lie. The game was released in 2004 and I could walk into any store right now and buy it, because it is a popular game. I would cancel, but they give you credit in the form of store credit! So then you have to fill out another form requesting credit card credit. This in itself is ridiculous. Avoid this company, they give you the total runaround."
"I am a happy dvdsoon user. I have ordered nearly 2000 dollars worth of product from them in teh last 5 months, and have not had any negative experiences outside slightly slow processing time on a few items."
"Ordered 3 box sets at about 60% off. Ground shipped from Canada. 1st two arrived within 2 weeks, third in about a month (I knew it was out of stock, so no big problem). If I'd payed full price I'd be quite upset, but for the price I paid I'm pretty happy. I'd never use them as a primary source, but they're good for the occasional deal."
"I had avoided this company and I just made the mistake of ordering from them again. They need to change their name to DVDNever. They never answer email. They have the longest back order history I have ever seen. They never let you know when your order might eventually be filled. The only thing they do is charge your credit card IMMEDIATELY. I think they make more money on the float from your cash than they do on the sales of the product."
"I ordered an out of print, extremely limited DVD because it was listed in stock, and then they charged me for it, and told me that it was on order. It can't be, it's been OOP for almost 2 years. I tried E-mailing them, but the address didn't work. From the site, I canceled my order and was given the amount I paid already in store credit. I asked to have that refunded back to my credit card, and they said it could take up to 21 days. What a bunch of crooks. At least I should get my money back eventually."
"It took 2 months to ship 2 DVDs with NO communication or confirmation of my order. I really thought my order was never placed so after 7 weeks I ordered through a different company. I received duplicate DVDs on the same day. They charged my credit card last Dec but I didn't notice. Don't use DVDSOON. In stead, I highly recommend CD Universe. I made a duplicate order with them and their service shines in comparison."
"NEVER EVER EVER BUY FROM DVDSOON.COM!!! BEWARE OF CREDIT CARD FRAUD!! If there was an option for negative ammounts of stars, I would select negative 5. I ordered 4 DVDs from these chumps as a Chirstmas present on December 7, 2004, It is now Feb 1, 2005 and my order is still in packaging mode, they just tell me the same story that they'll ship in a week, but it's not true. The lower prices are not worth having to wait for nearly two months now with no resolution and absolutley no way to cancel to get your money back until you actually send the movies back."
"I ordered a game in October and I still have not received it. They charged my credit card the day I ordered it, but still have not sent my item. After an exchange of emails, they refused to make an effort to send me the game in time for Christmas. This is a horrible company to do business with, because they only want your money and obviously do not care about sending you your item. The name of the site should be changed to DVDnever.com. I assume that they'll probably send me my item as soon as the MSRP drops down. Don't ever make a purchase from this website, because there's a good chance you wont get your item until months later, if at all."
