However, the site did not indicate that the item was out-of-stock when I purchased it. Had I known this bit of information, I would have continued to shop around. I felt duped in that way. Even after placing the order, no one ever called or sent an email to inform me that my item was out-of-stock and on back order. Small operation or not, that should be customer service rule number 1: inform the customer about the status of their order. I had to call DAKmart, after waiting the standard delivery time, to find out the status of my order. At that point, DAKmart as a company, in my eyes, was horrible from a customer service standpoint. Once I found out when my receiver would eventually ship, I felt a little better. However, upon arrival, I set up my receiver, turned it on and the LED display didn't work! I went through the dimmer routine and factory reset, and nothing! So, if this is the type of product that DAKmart sells, no thank you! I'll probably go someplace else next time. Regardless of whether or not DAKmart actually refurbishes the product or not, if DENON thinks this little about DAKmart to not even FULLY check the refurbished units before sending them to DAKmart, what should I as a customer think of DAKmart for sending it to me, especially with all the hassle prior to receiving it?

UPDATE!

After extensive (and sometimes heated conversation) with an individual named "Kevin," I was given an RMA shipping label and told to send the defective unit to the refurbisher. May I point out at this time that Dakmart does not refurbish the units. With constant and spirited communication with the refurbisher and Kevin, I received my fully-working Denon 789 back in the mail on yesterday. It works fine, and I was able to enjoy the season finale of the Sarah Connor Chronicles properly."

"The ordering of the headphones went well. However, the shipping costs were going to be the same as the cost of the headphones. We were told the reason was that the headphones would come in separate boxes. The amount for shipping was reduced but when the shipment was received it was in only one box. So we were not paying for only the shipping but for something else. Shipping a box of this size does not cost the amount that was charged. It appears that the shipping policies for Dakmart need to be reevaluated."
