"When I posted this review, the number of posted reviews was rather small (only 21), and all were negative. My experience was quite positive, so I have to wonder if the bad reviews were because of unrealistic expectations, or if they were posted by competitors ;-D I clearly had a significantly different experience...

At any rate, I called DataVision on a Friday afternoon for a price on the Samsung 40" Flat Panel HDTV (LTM-405W); I was quoted a good price, so I purchased it. The unit was delivered later THAT EVENING! (Living about an hour from the warehouse was a prime factor in the speedy delivery).

When the packaging was opened, though, I discovered that two components were missing. While trying to control my disappointment, I called DataVision, and asked to speak with a manager. The manager was cordial, and listened to my complaint; since the carton was factory sealed, he asked me if I would give him time to discuss the issue with Samsung (I agreed).

Over the weekend, I faxed DataVision some pages from the owners manual that referred to the missing items. On the next business day DataVision called me and explained that the manufacturer intended to sell those items separately, HOWEVER, since I had found references in the user manual that indicated they were to be included, Samsung had agreed to send me the items. A few days later, I had just started to worry when I received a copy of an email message from Samsung reiterating that they intended to ship the missing items, so I relaxed, and resolved to give it a week for shipping.

Five days later I received the missing items with a sincere apology from DataVision for the misunderstanding.

Long story short, the TV was installed and fully functional 10 days after I ordered it. It was clear that the missing items and the confusion on whether they were supposed to be included or not was the fault of Samsung (this model is new and not widely distributed at the time of this order). DataVision acted professionally, responsibly and quickly to resolve this issue to my satisfaction. {Considering it took a week for my cable company to switch my service to HDTV, I think the response from DataVision and Samsung was remarkable.} I would definitely order from DataVision again.

Oh yeah, the TV is AWESOME!

"I wish I had read about DataVision or DataVis.com, here before I bought from them. My item was back ordered for four weeks. I cancelled the order by phone the third week and was told that the order could, and would be cancelled. A week later I got an email saying the order had just been shipped. I emailed back telling them that the order had been cancelled and I wanted a return shipping voucher. I was on the road myself at the time and couldn't refuse the shipment. I got only a form letter back informing me of a 15% restocking fee and the return shipping costs I would have to pay as well as the need for the need for an RMA number. When I called the phone number given to explain my situation the guy told me I had never cancelled the order! When I explained that indeed I had, the guy said, "Well, you can't prove it"! Don't order from these people!!!!! YAHOO Shopping has gone way down in my book. As the other person said, be careful of trusting their seller rating system. "

"Waited 3 WEEKS FOR THIS product its a sony digital camera. and they didnt ship it, im still waiting for the order

Customer Service is TERRIBLE, they are RUDE, and are not helpful. DO NOT SHOP FROM THIS PLACE AGAIN

They LIE to you that the product is shipped and when it really isnt. So you cant cancel it.

I would like to file a complaint with these guys, to bring them down. Anyone can email me if you get a chance, I want to prevent people from literally getting rippped off.

"watch out! it is a trap. they ship you USED product! I ordered a panasonic phone from them. Finally I got the product after three weeks waiting(ofcouse, no status update). the phone didn't work and the called id memory showed received calls dated before my order date. The customer service is terrible. Make long story short, no one answers the phone call and no eamil reply either. this is one of those worst company you ever want to deal with! "

"I've ordered a scanner (Attache USB) on August 20. After that I haven't head anything from that company for at least 2 weeks. I send them e-mail to cancel the order and received a confirmation after about 10 days.

I wonder, do they really sell anything there or it's just a fake firm for money laundering ?

"This seller may have a bad rap from disgruntelled buyers. I purchased a software title from them. While they were not the fastest, or the lowest price, they did have it in stock, and shipped it well packaged and followed up very fast, when I enquired by email on the order status. I would do busness with them again."

"I cannot beleive this company is still advertising on-line. I ordered a Nex MP3 player in January, and 3 weeks, 4 emails, 3 phone calls later amounted to absolutlely nothing. Stay Away! This brand of poor/crude customer service may work on the street in NY, but don't take it on-line. "

"Rudest company I have ever come across:
"In stock" merchandise can't shipping within
a week; People who answer the phone blantantly
lie: Attempts to record conversations cause the

"Datavision is THE WORST online experience I have ever had.

They listed an item (canon powershot S30) as "in stock" on their website and when I order it they told me the model is discontinued (Big lie, a typical bait and switch) and recommand another model. When I asked them to cancel the order, the customer service guy agreed and I e-mail them afterward to make sure they get the message because the customer service guy was unbelievablly RUDE.

The next week, datavision sent me a package despite my repeating cancellation message. (to be fair, that might be the original model I wanted in the first palce)

Of course, I refuce to pickup the package from UPS, and it goes straight back to sender. I am prepare for a dispute later.

MESSAGE:
1. STAY AWAY FROM DATAVIS.COM
2. KEEP ORDERS AND TRACKING INFORMATION IN WRITTEN FORMAT FOR FUTURE TROUBLE
3. USE A MAJOR CREDIT CARD COMPANY TO DEAL WITH THEM, EVERYDAY PEOPLE LIKE ME CANNOT TAKE THE RUDENESS AND ABUSE FROM THEIR CUSTOMER "SERVICE".

"I Ordered an Archos MP3 recorder (P/N 500201). A week later the item arrived and turned MP3 6000. And I asked replacement and was told they will refund. But no action for two weeks. I tried to call them and the customer service simply ingnored my call. I was being hold off three times. And finally they made me mad. I had to yell at them to keep the phone line. And I was offered a substitute (Archos MP3 recorder 10) and asked it for $229. I am waiting to receive the item. I wish no trouble this time.

Very rude customer service. I will never buy a thing from them again.

"I ordered a Mitsubishi HS-U776 VCR from this company on 3/14 and was then emailed on 3/15 that it is on backorder for 1 week even though it was listed as in stock on their website. I just called them again today and I now hear it will be in next friday. This sounds awful like the previous guy. I informed them of their website being incorrect - its been that way for weeks! These guys are just like every other discount electronics seller."

"Stay away from Datavis.com! I placed an order for a VCR one MONTH ago, and every time I call, they tell me it's going to arrive in one week.

I should note, that the entire time, the item was listed on their website as IN STOCK. Even after one "customer service rep" (and I use the term loosely) told me it was in stock when I ordered it, a blatent lie.

Finally, after a month (boy am I a sucker) I have cancelled my order with them, after my last phone call where they AGAIN promised I'd have it in a week.

DO NOT ORDER FROM THESE BOZOS.

"DataVis completely lost my order. I purchased a NexII mp3 player. After a week I still had not recieved notice that it had shipped. I called and after an enormous wait time (3 hours) all I got was, "NexII Yeah that shipped Last Week, CLICK" they didn't even ask me who I was.
I called back 2 more times over the next 2 weeks. It's easier to get ahold of them early in the morning. I allways got the same repsonse. I called their customer service department, got the same operator 2 times and both times she hung up on me.

Don't use these guys.
