Although i shopped here over a year ago, I still feel the need to write a review. It was the fall and i was ordering a tv stand for my new hdtv. ok so i went to yahoo! shopping and a great price came up with datavision next to it. I ordered the tv stand(supposedly in stock) and and i get no confirmation email. I called them the next day and a rude operator said "they were waiting to get them from the warehouse " whatever that means. Ok so i asked them to tell me when they would come in, and they said within a week. I called back a week later and they again gave me, it be in soon. I then asked to cancel my order and they said ok. A week or two later my mom( whos creditcard it was put on) had an erroneous charge on it. She uses this creditcard for nothing but gas! There were over $600 in charges from overstock.com. Hmm my mom has NEVER been online to shop, and she never uses this card for anything but gas. Well im almost sure that datavision had something to do with this erroneous charge. They basically scamed my mother and i out of money. And i beleive they will do it to anyone.

I ordered a Sony VAIO Notebook GRT170 and after repeated emails and phone calls (which they are rude), I was told it will be next week (that is evey week the same story). I finally cancelled on 8/29. "DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THESE PEOPLE unless you like to argue over the phone and deal with extremely RUDE customer service!!! With that said, I’ll show you one of the emails I sent to the customer service department which should begin to explain the situation.
“Let me begin by saying that called on July 2, 2003 at 11:21 AM Eastern Time and spoke to a representative who cancelled my order. I explained that I had received an email at 9:15 AM saying, "Due to great demand and low availability for the product you ordered we will be able to ship your Item Number 027075073142 in 2-3 weeks. Once your product leaves our warehouse, shipping and tracking information will be emailed to you. Please note that back ordered items are not charged to your credit card account until they are shipped. We apologize for any inconvenience this delay may have caused you. Our goal is to provide the best service to you. If you need to contact us, you may call our customer service department at 1-***-***-****." The representative on the phone said that the camera (Pentax Optio S) would actually be back in stock early next week. I told him that I would NOT like to wait and that I wanted my order cancelled immediately. He said that would be fine. At that point my obligation to the order was terminated, yet
I felt that to be thorough I would send an additional response to the email that had said my order was originally delayed. I sent that email at 11:30 AM and it said, "Hi, I just called and cancelled the order over the phone. I appreciate you making sure that my credit card is not charged. Thanks again." After I sent that email, I decided to purchase the camera from another company that could GUARANTEE the item was in stock and would be sent out the same day (and it was shipped properly).
Now, you send me an email and a tracking number on an item that your company should not have sent. Your company's shipping policy states, "If the delay is due to backorder, you will receive notice and be given the choice to remain on backorder, substitute to another item, or CANCEL YOUR ORDER." Not to mention, the item was registered by UPS as "6:52 P.M. LONG ISLAND CITY, NY, US PICKUP SCAN". I understand that you are not the one who does everything for your company, but I am disappointed in the lack of communication in your departments. I ordered thinking it was in stock, then I was notified it would delayed 2-3 weeks, then when I cancel the order over the phone (as your shipping policy states) the guy tries to tell me it would be in stock next week but I insist on canceling, then I go beyond what I should do (just to cover all the bases) and I email the sales department to make sure I don't get charged and the order is cancelled, then I order the
camera I want from someone who has it in stock, then you send me an email saying you shipped it anyway (over 7 hours after I cancelled it)...I can only hope that this is not an attempt to practice unscrupulous business tactics! I will not pay for errors that are not my fault. I will not stand to be subjected to your “Returned merchandise is subject to a minimum 15% restocking fee." I apologize for the blunt nature of this email because I recognize that you are only doing your job, but I want you to be certain of my experience with your company. I will not pay any shipping costs of any kind. Please let me know how you will rectify the situation. Please let me know if I can assist you with any more information. Take care.”
Well, after calling a few times (and having the manager make accusations towards me – ext 712 thanks Reggie you’re really professional) and sending a few more emails (thanks Marylin for being relatively useless), I finally got a credit for the camera with out the restocking fee (of course they made me pay for shipping $11.54 which is a small price to pay to never have to deal with them again!!!). Anyway, if you’re like me and you use things like pricewatch to get a good deal, do me a favor and avoid this company so you don’t waste hours of your time and cause your cortisol levels to rise. As a professional, I probably wasted more time than what the camera was worth, but on principle I could not let these people get away with such poor service. Best of luck to all.

I ordered a digital camera for my father's birthday and a week later had not heard anything from these clowns. Upon calling them I was rudely told that the camera I've ordered (Canon S30, which is still by the way advertized on their website) has been out of stock and that an email was sent to me a few days before my follow up call telling me such (the email was received a day after I called). I was treated as if I was doing them a favor. "
"On May 24th 2003, I ordered a Rio s35s mp3 player. According to the Datavision website, the stock on this item was low. After placing the order, I received a confirmation e-mail stating that the order was being processed. I am a frequent online buyer and most companies that I order from send an e-mail stating either that the order has been shipped or if there is a problem, such as the item is on backorder. In this instance almost a week went by and I had not received any other e-mails stating the status of the order. I then proceeded to call the company on May 29th to find out the status of my order. The representative that took my call was extremely rude and stated that I would have to call back the next day when customer service was open. He further informed me that the item was not in stock, contradictory to what the website states even on this day, May 31. I then called back the next day and spoke to the same person and told him that I wanted to cancel my order and also let him know of some complaints. My 1st complaint was that I did not receive an e-mail stating that the item was on backorder. He cut me off and said that it was my fault and that the website says to call for availability. He then said he had “Nothing further to hear from me” and hung up on me. "

Don't buy from these guys. Totally fraud. I have long history on these guys. I ordered sony camcorder on 13th April. They put my order in back order. I waited nealy 15 days. They advertised if you buy camcorder they will give you free carrying case. Since they have a sony internet authorised dealer, I believed them and made a order. After 15 days they shipped my product. But unneccessarily they took additional amount in my card. I contacted customer service and sales (Andy, Rejee..... ). They behaved very rudely and were telling that they didn't do that transaction. But in my bank transaction showed that was done by datavis. Then I contacted my bank to cancel the additional transaction. My bank did that for me. I received the product after 3 days. Sony carrying case was missing. Then I contacted datavis(andy) they said it was manufacturer promotion you should contact sony don't contact us and they disconnected the call. I checked with sony. Sony was telling that if we buy sony camcorder in their website(sonystyle) they will give free carring case otherwise they don't. Again contacted datavis, he was telling that they have given me the sony camcorder for lesser price. so they could not give the carrying case and if I wish to return the product I have to pay 15% restocking fee and shipping charge. I fighted with them, I won't return the product and also I am going to cancel my transaction. Then they said they will file a case on me for doing fraud. I didn't afraid. Because I really wanted to buy the product and paid my money already. I contacted my bank and showed necessary proof for whatever they promissed to give me. Finally I cancelled transaction for the carrying case amount.
After that no contacts from them. So I am warning you , don't buy from these guys. if still you are interested, check with the bank before doing any transation with them and have necessary proof because you might cancel the transaction in future.
I would like to thank to my bank for resolving this issue. Don't shop with them. I had unecessary mental tension."
