"Dealt with Keith, x708. He's a complete incompetent and deliberately dishonest.
Ordered a Sony projector. We discussed my billing address and shipping address as being different. He insisted it would go correctly to my shipping address without a problem. He then shipped it to my billing address in another state, then promised it would be rerouted by UPS and delivered to me within 4 days. That was a lie. UPS cannot reroute. It was, of course, returned to Datavis. The reason he lied was to keep me in limbo so I did not issue a chargeback on my credit card. All the while, he NEVER returned any of my several phone calls. Finally, he admitted they got the projector back and promised it would be sent to my correct address. The promised day came and went. Without explanation, a credit appeared on my credit card for the amount. No call, no email. When I called, I was told my credit card company won't guarantee shipment to my shipping address since it is different from the billing address. This is a lie. My shipping address is pre-authorized with Citibank and I have bigger-ticket items shipped there all the time from other merchants. This company is a JOKE.
EVERYONE I spoke to on the phone was incredibly rude and abusive. Unbelievable. This is a model company in how NOT to treat customers.
They try to sucker you in with lowball prices, then use fraudulent tactics to back out of the sale if they can't bundle it with something more profitable."

Called the next day and asked why out of stock when web site still shows In Stock
guy asked if i live near shop i said yes
he proposed to cometo the shop an pick it up there.
When i came i found out that not only 512 mb is out of stock but Lens as well
They Guy working there (Albert very nice guy if you would have to come to store ask for him)
found me a replacement.
Unfortunately i still had to pay shipping charges or pay the store price of the camera ($45 shipping charges, $53 difference in price)
Still i think that service in store was very good.
Web site not as good since their warehouse information is not accurate.
P.S. they had a cheapest priced camera and memory card, but lens is kinda pricey."
"Worst experience ever buying on internet. Had over $91 ripped off from my credit card account. Placed order on camera which was on back order with expected shippment of 5-7 days. After three weeks and no status and no responce to e-mail, sent e-mail and cancelled the order. (Phone efforts to cancel could not get through. )Received "shipped" notice another month later, and again sent in "I cancelled this" e-mail. Responce said just "do not accept delivery" for item for refund. Did this but still got charged shipping and handling and 15% restocking fee.

"Very disappointed. Ordered two Canon ELPH S500
digital cameras from Datavis.com on the above date. This was a pre-order since the items were not available at that time. We were told however that the cameras would ship later that week. The purchase was important to be completed quickly since the transaction needed to be during the current fiscal year which ended March 31, 2004.
Two weeks past so I called back. The items were
not as yet in stock but would ship very soon. I mentioned that we needed to charge the VISA account due to the fiscal year restraints and was told that could be done immediately. As the month came to a close and no order arrived I again
called back. This time I was told that the items were in stock but that the credit card was refused. I asked why I wasn't called when this was discovered but did not get any reply. After calling the VISA company and finding that my company account would not allow single transactions over $1000 I recalled Datavis and reordered reducing the purchase by one item so the amount was less than $1000. I was told the purchase would ship immediately. I was also told I would receive a tracking number. Two days passed and no tracking number arrived so I called again. This was on March 31st the last day of our fiscal year. This time I was told that the address on the VISA was not correct so the trans-action was again put on hold. I again asked why I wasn't called when this was discovered and was not given a reason.
I called VISA and straightened out the confusion on the address. They still showed us as an old PO BOX instead of the street address. I re-called Datavis to expedite the order and was assured it would ship immediately. I did not receive a tracking number or confirmation email.
As of today we still have not received the order. Datavis assures me each time that it is coming. I found out they shipped it to the PO BOX address so I have made numerous trips to the main post office to be sure it gets delivered properly.
My greatest complaint is that I was not informed when there were problems and only found out after
calling back to inquire as to why the shipment hasn't arrived. Currently the VISA charges are in dispute."
"I will NEVER order from datavision again. I placed an order Friday afternoon, for an item the website said was "in stock". I received an (automated?) email from them saying they received the order. It said to allow 24-48 hours for the order to be processed. I called their customer service on the following Monday (72 hours later) and the customer service rep said the order "will be shipped today". I checked the website today (96 hours later) and the order status page said it was still "in process". I called customer service again and they said the order was backordered. I said that the website had it "in stock" and I was told it was going to be shipped yesterday. I asked them why I was given wrong information and they didn't have an answer. I DO NOT recommend them."

"Wow very fast service. I was a little skeptical at first because I never heard of them but read reviews and they offered an absolutely stunning price on the Canon Powershot G3 so I had to bite.
Ordered on a Saturday and item was at my door on Tuesday. Packaged good, was full retail package and it served me well in the lots of shooting i did over vacation the following week.

"I searched and searched for a retailer of any kind (both online and off) who had IN STOCK the canon 50mm f/1.8 II lens.
I eventually found these guys who were selling it for a medicore price. It is $20 cheaper at B&H, but because of the fact that i couldnt find it at all and these guys said they had it in stock i decided to spend the extra cash on it.
I placed my order and carried on with my day, i get home and check my email for possible information on the order.
In my inbox is an confermation email, as well as a delay alert.
The lens that their site lists as "in stock" was indeed not instock and would take 5-7 buisness days before it would be shipped.
Extreamly annoyed i called their cost. service dept. I explain to them over the phone what i just did to you and i hear a click.
I call back and inform the person that i was just hung up on, he then says "ok what can i hlep you with" again inform him of the issue at hand and he puts me on hold for roughly 3 mins and comes back with the following reply:
"I'm sorry sir but this product is currently on back order and will not be made avalible until the middle of next week"
I asked him why the hell they would say it was in stock on their site then to which he informs me that:
"There was a limited supply first come first serve"
I placed the order at 5:30 AM!
And 10 mins ago i checked to see if they still had it as in stock, and sure enough 12 hours later...it is still listed in stock
I've yet to write a review an any company, this is my first. It will not be my last, i owe B&H a praise review."
"After a week, my initial order for a portable Toshiba DVD player never arrived. I called DataVision's customer service. The rep apologized for not contacting me to inform me of the item's backorder status. I explained I needed it in 3 days for our family vacation. He offered me a better model with a larger screen for the same price, plus shipped at 2nd day air at no additional charge. This was above and beyond my expectations. There was an Email glitch with my order, and I hadn't had a shipping confirmation for about 10 days. When I called to inquire, I was notified that the camera I wanted was no longer available, but that you would upgrade me to a better version of the same camera, WITH NO ADDITIONAL COST TO ME. "I ordered a Sony HX series monitor from DataVision on Feb. 1st, a Sunday, over the Internet.They had the best price I had seen, and I had been looking for 2 weeks. The item (black) showed as in stock. I received an e-mail notice of my order within several hours. I found this website the next day, and thought "Lord, what have I got myself into?" I couldn't believe all the bad reviews! Tues. afternoon I received another e-mail telling me it would be 3-5 days before the item would be in stock. I thought, "Here we go!" I rushed to copy all of the documentation I might need if they screwed with me. Wed. afternoon I called their customer service dept. and was told "Our computers are down, call back in 20 minutes". I thought "OK, it starts now". I called back 1 1/2 hours later and got through to a cust svc rep. I told him that I wanted to cancel my order and he asked for my order #, called it up and asked me why I wanted to cancel. I told him I didn't want to wait that long. He asked me if I would take the monitor in silver. I said OK, if it was the same price. He said yes, they could ship it out that afternoon. They actually didn't ship it until the next day, (Thurs), but I received it today (Monday). The monitor is awesome!! I went from a 17" flat-screen CRT to a 19" LCD with digital input. I have to move my head to see all of the screen! Anyway, I have to say that I am satisfied with the whole transaction. It would have been nice to receive it sooner, but I have had slower shiping at other places, and Sunday - Thursday isn"t too bad. Most other places with a good price were not in stock on this item, and I would have had to go on a waiting list. I don't know what would have happened if I had insisted on the black monitor and waited or canceled my order then and had them ship the monitor later anyway. That didn't happen, so all in all I am pleased with this company, and if I hadn't heard so many negative things about them I wouldn't have thought twice about how things went."
"THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER RECEIVED! I ordered an hp ipaq h1935 from Datavis well before the $50 rebate for the product expired on 1/31/04. The site said that the product was "in stock." Every time I checked on the order, the site would say "order in process." IT STILL SAID THIS TWO WEEKS LATER. I called customer service and she told me that the product was out of stock and, get this, they stopped selling the h1935 and were only selling the more expensive h1945 model. At no time did I receive any email informing me of this change. When I later spoke to the manager about how I missed out on the rebate, he seemed apathetic if not downright rude. NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER do business with rip-off company! Any person who would write a nice review about this company must be related its its managers.
