"I ordered this item and the item stated free shipping. I completed the checkout process and received a completed invoice with "free shipping" indicated. I then received an email asking me to contact customer service to "confirm" the order. I called, was placed on hold for a long time (over 10 minutes) and then was hung up on. I emailed customer service asking them to contact me. They didn't contact me. I then called them again.

When I finally talked to them on the phone, they said that shipping was an extra $60 despite the fact that they advertised free shipping.

I will not order from a company that does a "bait and switch" tactic.

"I ordered $186 worth of Moen Brantford 8"-widespread faucets, and the 9000 valve. They are based in NY.

Pros: Decor Island offers competitive price and the website is easy to navigate.

Cons: Due to Slow shipping I ended up paying more to get the item and experienced terrible customer service.
I placed my order midnight of May 20th online and called during the day to confirm - got a message that they were closed for the holidays until Friday the 21st. Then I called on Friday 21st at 1:45 pm PST and they had closed for the weekend - although the website claimed longer business hours. Call on Monday at 2:00 pm and spoke to Marco at x415. Item had not shipped and it would take another 10 - 14 business days because it was "Free shipping". Can I cancel? Reply - No but Let me see what I can do, but the shipping department is closed call me back tomorrow. I called back first thing on Tuesday. He said to call back in another 30 minutes. Called him back in 30 minutes. He said your business is important to us, for $14.99 we will get it to you by the end of the week. I tried to argue that they sat on my order for 4 days and now they want me to pay to get the item sooner. He said do you want it or not, I have to get off the phone to get your order out. I had no choice so I paid.
Got the item the following day. But they shipped me the 69000 valve instead of 9000 valve. This time I got handed over to Andy at x402. He said 9000 and 69000 are the same. I said but 69000 is cheaper than 9000 and I paid for 9000. He said, if you are not happy you don't have to buy from us, just return them. I asked will you give me back my money. He said rudely in a treatening voice, "No. you will pay a restocking fee." I tried to ask for a price correction to reflect what I received. He said, "I already explained to you they are the same and he rudely hung up on me while I was talking!!!! You can imagine the frustration and humiliation to be hung up on by a rude customer service person.

Further, there was no shipping tracking confirmation email or any type of after order service.

Final note: After another phone call to another customer service person, he agreed to credit me with the difference but it will take another 5-7 business days. I have yet to see the credit.

I swear I would never, never do business with Decor Island again. I called Moen to complain and they said that Decor Island is not listed as their authorized agent.

In the end, I paid more and waited longer and spent more time on the phone.

"Terrible customer service esp. Joe on x419. Did not honor a price match nor let me cancel an order 2 days after I placed the order.

I called in to place an order for a shower kit. According to Joe, the item is to be shipped within 24-48 hours so I expected
a shipping confirmation email within that time period. Didnt even get an order confirmation.

Had to call in 2 days later. Also tried to get price match and cancel the order. Was rudely refused both option.
Only got the order confirm email after the call. Numerous errors infor sent: e.g. wrong city names on both the billing and shipping addresses.


Called again 5 days later for a shipping confirmation.
Not only his tone was argumentative, but he treated me like an idiot. Sent me the order confirm email 3x and said he already sent what I asked.
Order confirm is not shipping confirm last I checked.

Said ship confirmation will only be sent when it gets closer to destination.
Wth?

Definitely planning to report to BBB.

"I was looking for a hard-to-find Opella bar sink with accessory items and found these items at Décor Island. I contacted their customer service before ordering and was assured that all of these items were in stock. I placed the order and received an email confirmation from them. I had to contact customer service 6 days later for a shipping tracking number and received all of the items in good shape 8 days after placing my order. The order was shipped directly from the Opella warehouse in Atlanta and I believe that the delayed communication of shipment/tracking information was an issue with Opella rather than Décor Island.

Strangely, about six months later we received a second shipment of the same items from Opella for which I was not billed. I had to contact Décor Island customer service several times by email and phone to arrange a return of this duplicate shipment. Again, I believe that this duplicate shipment was an issue with Opella, but I was not pleased with the amount of time and effort to arrange this return shipment.

Overall, I would purchase again from Décor Island, but only if the items were in-stock and available at a good price.

"I ordered a kitchen sink from this company on 09/04/09. It arrived without padding in the box on 09/22/09 with large chips and cracks in the porcelain. All attempts to get a refund (of over $400.00) or replacement have failed and the company has stopped communicating with us.
I would not recommend ordering anything from this merchant to anyone. Buyers beware!

"Think before you buy!!! No return or cancel!!!
This company is really bad at customer service. Beware of Decorisland.com Company. Customer service about returning or canceling is really bad. They will get mad at customer. They try to bully the customer. I don’t recommend this company.

I can''t say enough positive things about Décorisland.com. They live up to their name. Exceptional prices and exceptional service! "Just placed my order. Lowest price I could find on the sinking I was looking for. Was quoted a shipping price of $9.99, email confirmation had a charge of $34+. I called to correct the error and was told I was charged $24+ for handling and some other nonsense. I was told the charge was optional, but surprise, I was never given the option. Needless to say, I canceled the option. I kept the order since it was the best price I could find, we'll see how their shipping is.

At this point I say beware. I'll update if there are any issues with the delivery.

UPDATE: 10/20. A week after placing the order, I still had not received a shipping confirmation or tracking #. I called and got the same woman who added the handling charge without asking me.
She said she had to research my order and put me on hold. Someone else - a manager I presume - came back on the line and explained that my sink hadn't shipped due to the Jewish holidays. When I placed my order, I had expressed my concern over the 10-14 day shipping window - they assured me it would arrive sooner than that. So they new I needed my sink sooner rather than later. If you know you can't ship for a few days, let me know.

I cancelled the order, looks like they at least got that part right.

Again, they have low prices, so if you're not in any rush and you don't mind some bs, then you might try your luck. They're dead to me though.

"Long shipping delays, poor customer service. Faucet was ordered on July 29 with specific instructions that the item had to be received within two weeks of order, otherwise the vendor should cancel the order. On August 5 I phoned customer service and was told item "shipped today." Having gotten no email of delivery confirmaion, I emailed customer service on August 7 to inquire as to order status, received a confirmation one day later that order had actually shipped on August 8, not the 5th as earlier told. Now order will not arrive on time. I emailed and informed them the order will be returned to them and with a demand to reverse the credit card charge ASAP. "
