"Order this from dell but rejected shipment for return to Dell. Shows that they received the system back Oct 30 and would take 15 business days to process the credit back to me. Has been over a month and still have not got credit. Sent countless email and call customer service countless time and each time they say will check on status and get back to me and never did. Finally, called customer service and got to spoke to customer service manager and she says will send the credit request for expedit processing which will be done within 48 hrs. Still no credit.!!!!!!
And so now, I typing this while waiting on the phone with the DELL LOUSY CUSTOMER SERVICE SUPPORT"
"Let me first say they built this computer in 4 days and shipped it out in 4 days once I had ordrered it.

THE LCD has ZERO DEAD PIXELS THE THING LOOKS PERFECT DELL YOU ARE AWESOME SHIPPING OUT NOTHING BUT THE BEST STUFF EVERYTIME TO ME!
THANK YOU.
Those are the good things now here is some kinda negative stuff about it
THe xps tower is HUGE I mean its twice the size of my old xps and its also on the very heavy side for us weaker folks :\
It also does make some noise while its on but it doesn't heat up my room like a few others said, but the noise I can hear it and it kinda bugs me a bit.
I wish it was a little bit more quiet cuz my other dell was almost completely silent so i was a little shocked at the humming noise it makes while on
another semi complain is the monitor is OMG MASSIVE its hard for me to read or write on it right now since im not used to this humongously widescreen you have to kinda lay back so ur eyes can see the entire screen ^^
Overall im loving it PERFECT screen SUPER fast computer just what I wanted thx dell you ROCK don't let other ppl put down dell because trust me this dell will annihalte any other comp retailer in the business for price/performance dell will always crush its competition I got all this with 30% coupon and no other retailer or build it yourself shop will ever beat u dell with price/performance you're the best, THX michael dell for making such an awesome gaming computer company with the XPS"
"I ordered a wireless card for my laptop because it was cheap and on sale... luckily I knew what I wanted and typed it into the search field or I never would've found it. Dell has got to have one of the worst websites for navigation to try to find what you want, especially if you need drivers for a periphal. I received the item without any problems, but their status/tracking info was terrible. My order still said it was 'in transit' to the shipping company after I received it, and the actual tracking number didn't show up until after I received it either."
"Ordered a Belkin 1100 VA UPS late 11/24. Good experience. I especially like their email notifications. Received 2 emails the next day, Thanksgiving, one for Final Details of order and other for Order Currently Processing. No sales person called and tryed to push more products, a real plus. Received email of shipping on 11/28 stating; it had been shipped on 11/27 and should arrive 3-5 business days. If that was the case it really took 6 business days to arrive. I don’t know how to blame for the shipping delay, Dell or DHL or just the holiday rush."
"I've only had two experiences with Dell but they have both been fairly bad and it will take a VERY good deal that I don't need delivered immediately to purchase from them again. They are just too slow and their customer support is telephone pinball and simply a whipping to undertake.
First order from my household was about 4 weeks prior to this where I ordered a Cruzer USB 'drive' that was apparently 'in stock' but was very angry to be given a 'ship before date' of 14 days from my order date. Come on Dell, if you are an true e-tailer then you'll have to keep up with the big boys that ship within 48 hours. 13 days after order I made a call and was told my order would ship tomorrow and take 3-5 business days to reach me (my original choice). After a fairly stern lecture to Dell about not being much of an online ordering company the lady kindly offered to ship the drive overnight leaving the very next day - I was very immediately pleased only to be later disappointed as I waited 5 more days for it to arrive.
Second order was for a digital camera and AGAIN I was offered overnight shipping and told my order would ship 14 days after my order date (you're not told this beforehand). What is the point of overnight shipping if it doesn't ship for 14 days? After 3 days, when I realized that the order was likely to take 14 days minimum I made a call to Dell. After 1 hour and 10 minutes of utter frustration being put on hold at least 4 times and speaking to 3+ different people, I asked the last person to either confirm my order would ship tomorrow or to cancel it. He said he could not guarantee it would ship as his information told him it would be the 'ship by' date that was still 10 days away. I asked him to cancel my order and he said I would receive an e-mail confirmation of cancellation later that afternoon. The day passed with no e-mail from Dell and the next day I received an e-mail to say my order had shipped (@*$# !). I was more than frustrated as I had ordered another camera in the meantime from another company ... as it turned out Dell had the better deal but they were painful to deal with so I let the order arrive and then let them bill my credit card. The order from the other company just seemed easier to cancel.
Dell, ship within 48 hours, improve your customer service and get the people on the phones more up to date information on order status. It's just too painful to order $400+ products and wait 14+ days for them when other online stores confirm, ship and arrive before Dell can even confirm they have the product.

"Dell should really change their name to HELL. Once you are their customer and have a problem you are in HELL. I ordered 2 Axim X3 from their Outlet website and only received 1. I tougth it was a regular shipping problem, so I called to informe about the problem. The Indian who after a long wait didn't understood a word I said and sent me a replacement for the axim insted of the part I purchased initially. I called again and the CS rep told me I was wrong. She told me I haven't bougth 2 axims for $140 each but that I purchased 1 for $280, altough in the invoice they sent me It stated both products. After spending hours in the phone they accepted their mistake and told me they will ship the remainding pieces. I agreed to it and here I am 2 months after my order without some important pieces as the install CD. I am in Hell's hands. "
"I placed this order after canceling my order with Alienware due to poor customer service. I spec'd out a system with the same components I had ordered through alienware and Dell was able to build and ship the system faster than Alienware was able to just get the parts in. I have had no problems with the system.
I would say though if they build a system for gaming, which this one is, there should be an option available on line for us to opt out of all the extra software loaded on the system hat hogs resources. After removing the extra software this system works as it should.
Nice system, fast and recieved when they said it would be here (2 days earlier as a matter of fact). I have yet to have to deal with customer service so I cannot attest to their abilities."
"Ordered a 1GB Lexar Jumpdrive sport on 11/9. $65 shipped before a $20 rebate. Site said ships in 4-5 days. Order confirmation said on or before 11/19. On 11/19, the order was delayed until 12/1. On 11/22, it was delayed until 1/6/05. The rebate offered needed to be sent in within 30 days. It's awfully hard to send in a rebate within 30 days when the product won't arrive for more than 60. Even though 60 is much more than the 4-5 days.
Dell's response to my inquiry about the rebate deal was that I was SOL.
I canceled this order, it's not the first time a simple item has been extended for more than a month. Short delays are understandable, extending 4-5 days to 2 months is unacceptable. Offering a rebate that is impossible to submit is also unacceptable."
"Aside from totally unsatisfactory, so-called customer service, so-called technical support, and so-called quality assurance, I (a civil rights attorney) have filed multiple, documented complaints against DELL with:
The Federal Trade Commission
The Better Business Bureau
The Office of the Texas Attorney General
Public-Advocacy, Unlimited
inter alia
for alleged:
"bait-and-switch"
deceptive advertising
rebate fraud
fraudulent excess charges
and similar other offenses
If you feel COMPELLED to buy from DELL, it is suggested that you use a major bank credit card issuer so that you can be allowed to reject and have overturned wrongful charges tendered on account of such despicable trade practices and thus not be victimised.

"I'm tired of repeating this story. All I will say is never never never purchase anything from Dell.
They should not even have a tech support/cust service line because they don't provide any. It would save their customers alot of wasted time. I filed a complaint with the Better business bureau and still haven't gotten anything resolved. DELL SUCKS and thats all there is to it."
"Purchased more memory for existing Dell computer. Used online system detect to determine order need, recomendation was to buy one board - system needs a matched set. Complained by email all I get is return wait 30 days for refund and then purchase 2 boards. I tried to go back on line and just purchase 1 board, but now Dell only sells as 2. Called tech support - nice guy from India, but who knows if we really understood each other - said I can't use justr one. He gave me a number to call - an hour on hold so decided to put it to good use... "
"The amount of orders I've placed over the internet is nearing triple digits, but this is the absolute worst experience I've ever had. I've ordered a home computer and MP3 player before from Dell without a hitch, so I had no expectation of them completely botching my next order for two MP3 players I was giving as gifts. The order was placed on 10/29 and was processed and shipped according to schedule. I was not once informed of any delay. The package arrived 11/05. In it was one MP3 player and a packing slip which listed two. I immediately phoned Dell to inform them of the problem, and was told by a man with broken English that another would be shipped out right away. Roughly a week passed and I contacted Dell again to inquire as to where my replacement item was, and this is where the major headache began. As it turns out, there is no record of me speaking to the first employee, and nothing has been shipped out. I went back and forth via phone, e-mail, and online chat 10 or more times over the span of a few days before they could understand my problem and ship out my replacement MP3 player. Several employees told me that my invoice only shows a single MP3 player being ordered, while my confirmation and packing slip clearly show two. It was like talking to a brick wall, and no rep I spoke to could understand my problem or what exactly I ordered. Finally it clicked, and the replacement was shipped out by Next Day delivery for the inconvenience. This was received about 4 days later in a beat-up envelope, and was missing the CD-ROM, headphones, USB cable, and battery charger. I informed them that these items were missing, but they said "those items are not on your invoice, so you did not order them". Of course they are not listed on my invoice as separate items, they are supposed to be included inside the MP3 player's box because you can't use it without those parts. I have received 3 other Dell DJs from them and all were comlete. After the span of a couple days, and re-explaining the problem over and over and over, they finally said they will ship out the parts which I am still waiting on. Then today, ON THANKSGIVING, they call my house at 6:00 AM and wake up my entire family. I am confident in saying that Dell has the absolute worst customer service on the internet and are unorganized to the point where they can't view my order contents despite me providing several order ID #s. Unless Dell does something magical to make this situation right and appease me, I and every single person I come in contact with will be encouraged to never order a single thing from Dell again."
"Horrible Customer Service! The new Dell Jukebox I bought arrived defective and Dell replaced it with a REFURBISHED Unit! Unbelievable! After an infuriating hour on the phone with an incomprehensible tech support person in India, it was determined the original unit was defective and it took several more days of e-mails to get it resolved. Then, in the end, I couldn't believe they sent me a refurbished unit. If that's how their warranty works (you buy a new unit and if it's defective you get a used one in return), then I want no part of it!"
"They have the most horrible customer service I've ever run into. I had a relatively simple problem - the cost for the order that I submitted was much lower than the cost that eventually appeared on my confirmation E-mail, and I spent 3 hours on the phone with these idiots, trying to cancel the order. I was transferred 8 times to the wrong person (no one seemed to be able to transfer me to online sales), was given 3 wrong telephone numbers, and then finally, finally, I got the right number and was able to cancel the order. When I complained to a "customer care specialist", about my 3 hours in Dell customer service purgatory, he said he would check into it, and sent me an E-mail saying that he'd tried the last (yes, the 4th and final)number I was given, and it worked fine, and that hopefully, this resolved my complaint. I will never ever purchase anything from Dell again!"
"Placed order online on friday Nov 12th before 12:00 EST for digital camera with next day air delivery, Item showed in stock ships within 24 hours. Then followed a nightmare of calling or trying to reach someone who could give me an update on the order with no luck, spent more then 10 hours being passed from one 1800 number extension to another with no result. Tonight after 5 days got an email saying that camera is not in stock and order is cancelled."
