"I ordered a Sony 20" LCD/TV monitor in black. I was told via an E-mail that I would recieve upgraded shipping, so far so good. After a week of silence I called and found out it may be two weeks or longer before they ship. I cancelled the order.

Two major problems: Their site still lists this as a stock item and they charged my credit card the day after my order was placed knowing the item was not in stock.

There are plenty of internet retailers with similar prices that do not have this policy. Most good retailers charge your card the day of shipment & notify you when an item is not in stock.

"I found several online retailers offering the lowest price for a high-end mini-digital camcorder and began investigating. Several retailers used dishonest advertising, offering rock-bottom prices but just prior to the transaction being finalized inform you that you're not eligible for the manufacturers waranty or the factory supplied accessories. Digital Megastore was a truly welcomed surprise. Very friendly salesperson (Linda), service that far exeeded my expectation and a straight-forward and completely honest transaction. I received my camcorder in less than 24 hours after ordering (I live on the west coast and Digital Megastore is located in NY), was charged a very modest shipping charge and paid $641 less than the msrp. My experience with Digital Megastore was terrific!!!"

"Found the best price on the Palm Tungsten with Digitalmegastore.com. Website was easy to place an order. Received confirmation of order almost simultaneously. Did receive second email asking for us to call. They only needed verification of the order and address but by the time I called, the product had shipped. "Among the lowest price, including shipping, for a JVC MiniDV cam. I ordered it... had to call them to receive confirmation they had my order (BAD!) but then shipped fast: 4 days later had it in house. Conclusion: they process orders slow (48 hrs) but then ship fast. They upgraded me to 2 day shipping for free when I complained.

ANNOYING: the sales rep that calls to "verify" the credit card number... I told them they needed to verify with MASTERCARD and not with me and then they tried adding on extra's. I did do it but regret it now. Basically they hardsell extra junk you don't need with huge profit margins for them I guess....

"This retailer ships slow. After reading decent customer reviews (over 500) in Bizrate.com about Digital Megastore, I decided to order a Sony DCR-TRV 50 mini-dv camcorder from this store. They charged a fair price. I ordered it online on 1/22/03 early evening, plus I paid $20 extra to have it shipped 2 days. First complaint was the lack of confirmation upon receiving my order. Next day I called their customer service to make sure they got my order. The rep said I should receive email soon. It never came. 1/25/03 I got a call from their salesman asking me to verify my credit information over the phone. When I refused he said my credit process would just take longer. Immediately after I called my credit card company and found they had ok'ed and paid this charge on 1/22/03, the day I ordered the camcorder! When I use Digital Megastore website to look up my order I was surprised to find my order number had changed to a different number. I was getting a little worried. 1/27/03, 5 days after I ordered, I again called their customer service and was pleasantly surprised to hear that they shipped out the camcorder on 1/24/03. They even gave me a Fedex tracking number. On 1/28/03 Fedex finally delivered the camcorder. That was 6 days later. So if you are in a rush, order from another e-retailer."
