"I just purchased a Sony DCR-PD170 Video Camera from Digital MegaStore. The price was as low as I could find from a reputable re-seller. The sales rep (Linda; ext. 761) was very courteous and helpful. There were no high pressure tactics to get me to purchase additional items although several were offered when I asked about any specials. The price for the extended warranty was higher than other places I looked but the overal purchase price was lower due to the price of the camera being low so I purchased it. I had one problem with the transaction but it was not Digital MegaStore's fault. I used a check card to pay for the equipment and it has a $3000 / day limit. My purchase was over $3000 and the card was declined on Sunday, the day of the purchase. I received an email notifying me of this and called my bank who informed me that the transaction would have to be split up over two days. I replied via e-mail explaining the situation and then called after 10:00 PM on Monday to confirm they could do this. They had no problem and the order shipment which was supposed to arrive Thursday was not delayed. Note that on orders over $2000 they need a copy of your credit card and driver's license which I had to fax them. I did this late Sunday evening and when I called Linda Monday morning she had already received it. When the order shipped I received an email with a tracking number. Linda was always courteous, helpful and never pushy. I was able to get through to her within two calls every time I called and was never on hold more than 5 minutes. Overall my experience with this store was very good and I would definitely do business with them again."

"I placed an order for a minolta dimage a1 on Saturday 4/3 and received two phone calls from Randy in the next four days. We were playing phone tag but I am sure he wanted to confirm address, etc. I received an email from sales dept on 4/8 Thursday stating that my order has been cancelled. Perhaps because I didnt call back? I dont know why. I checked my credit card balance and everything seems to check out ok - no charges. Great prices, but very difficult to contact CS because I live on the west coast. Lots of miscellaneous business holidays that prevent order processing and shipment. It is nearly impossible to speak to a person. Be prepared to stay on hold for a long time.

Follow up: I placed a second order for my dimage a1 since the first order was cancelled. i called over the phone at about 4pm wednesday. spoke with peter and he assured me that the camera was in stock. exchanged my information and was asked in one brief sentence if i "had everything i needed". i answered yes and there was no pestering afterward. i chose the least expensive ground shipping option which peter explained would take about 5 business days to leave NY to CA. i received an email with the tracking number two days later on friday indicating that my camera was en route for delivery to my residence that day! i came home at 5pm and found my camera in excellent condition as described. i am most impressed with the friendly, low-pressure service provided by peter and even more aghast at how quickly my camera arrived. one sole nit picky complaint is that the camera box was not packaged well with air bags, peanuts, etc. it lay alone in another simple, well-taped box. oh yea, and my last name was spelled incorrectly - but who cares, i got it anyways."

They did ask me to call and "confirm address" which I did and they did try to sell me some seriously overpriced accessories, but I said I wasn't interested and they didn't keep pushing. They could be a bit friendlier on the phone and in emails, but other than that I am satisfied."

However the address on Fedex was incomplete, requiring me to call Fedex to provide complete address. Customer Service can be improved as the lady was pretty abrupt in answering my queries on the shipping address problem. Could be a typical Jersey talking style.

"Ordered a Sony MiniDV Camcorder on 12-5-03 & received item on 12-11-03. Best price I could find; however, the price increased by $20 the next day. So, just be aware that the prices can change daily. Order processing is slow due to the fact that you have to call back and confirm your order. When I called back, the sales rep tried to soft sell one additional accessory. I declined and he left it at that. The only gripe I had was that I never received a order tracking number. Also, the upc code/serial number sticker was ripped off the box. Other than that, for the price I paid, it was a very good deal. "
"very rude customer service. Emailed them several time, only got one reply saying the item I ordered was in stock. If you try to make phone calls, you have to wait at least 10 minutes. "Ordered an Olympus 750 Ultra Zoom on 11/17/03 for $412 plus shipping. Later that day, I noticed that the priced of this camera on their web site had gone up to $428. "Uh-oh" I thought - I was expecting an impending hassle over paying the higher price.
But in fact, they honored the lower price on the product. In addition, they upgraded me to FedEx 3-day express shipping, didn't ask me to call in to verify the order, and did not push me to order any accessories. Only small negative here is that they state they could take up to 72 hours to process / ship an order - if you're in a big hurry this may not be your best chioce.
Overall, as pleasant an experience as I have ever had ordering online. I highly recommend this store."
