Four months and no refund

"I work for a high school and we needed a high end camera and digitaloutlets.net prices really fit our slim budget - we sent a school check, but later realized that we had ordered a PAL camera - I called them and opted to pay the difference (this time with a credit card) and an additional fee for expedited shipping because we needed it for an important event. The camera never came, I was told it was lost in transit and that I would receive a refund It's February 2016 and this was purchased in October - plenty of time to issue a refund from the check my school sent. No contact, no response to emails or phone messages, and no refund."

"I ordered a Canon XA10 camcorder for $1199 on 10/31/15 . I received an email informing me to call them for payment confirmation. Once I called, they told me that since the camcorder has been discontinued that they offering the camera that replaced the XA10, the Canon 32GB VIXIA HF G20 for the same price. After a quick search I saw that the camera is selling for $749 at B&H and I declined the offer. The sales rep was trying a bait and switch on me. Anyways, he talked me into the XA10 battery and lens package for $1499. Looking back on the whole conversation and after reading real reviews (not the fake ones that are easily identified) about Digital Outlets, I decided to try and cancel the order in fear of losing $1500 and not ever receiving the camera. I called the next day and surprisingly, the same guy said "sure, no problem I can cancel your order." I was shocked. Well it's been 14 days and still no refund to my C.C. Please don't make the same mistake I did, trying to save a hundred bucks. I'm going to file a complaint with the c.c. company and with Brooklyn BBB and see what happens. I will post an update soon.

Update: I called back on 12/1/15. The same man said my cc refund had been pushed back until 12/13/15. I'm calling my cc company and reporting fraud.

"I wish I had looked up this company before purchasing from them. Like other reviewers, I also was given the bait and switch. I ordered a d750 and was sent an email a couple of day later saying that I needed to confirm my order. When I called customer service they wanted to confirm that I was okay with getting a import model. They told me that the import model only had Japanese menus and did not come with a manual. I told them that I did not want that so they offered to sell me the US model for extra $400. I agreed and a few weeks later the camera and lens I ordered arrived. However they were both Nikon Europe products so essentially I still got grey market imported products.

Just save your money and buy from non-shady & reputable (i.e. Nikon Authorized) dealers. Unless you don't mind grey market products. If so, then don't do the upsell because all import models are the same and have all languages built in as I found out from Nikon recently.

"They did the bait and switch and screwed me also . Scott in C Service is dishonest This is a crooked company Scott also said he could get my lens out quicker if I improved my review but I had not received my lens at that time .They said the lens I ordered was for a film camera and I needed an SLR and offered what they said was a better lens for more money when in fact the lens retails for 1/2 the price of the lens I originally was ordering . If you Gooogle Digitaloutlet complaints You will see they bait and switch which is illegal "
