"I can't compliment ECS Tuning on their packaging skills, but I can say that they handled their mistakes promptly and professionally.
After placing my last order with them, they decided to ship my order without packaging materials inside the box. Unfortunately, this resulted in items rattling around inside, and damaging each other.
Although I was extremely disappointed over this foolish shipping method, they were prompt to handle my issue, always answered the phone when I called, and in the end I got all of my items in good order.
I will most likely continue to do business with them if needed, but they will not be my first choice due to their carelessness."
"WHAT A RIP OFF!!!!!
I ordered a part for my BMW from Canada, the cost was a mere $28.90, the shipping was $18.11 but once the part got here I had to pay $25.05 for brokage fee! The price more than DOUBLED!!!!!
When I called ECS Tuning to clarify the situation and to see if we could arrive to a compromise, I spoke with two costumer service agents who were unresponsive and the second one was down streight RUDE!
When I placed the order on line I was never told about any brokage fee, which is usually waved since the purchase was less than $50.
I will never order from them again (and I do like to customize my baby and spend lots of money on it)
WHAT A RIP OFF!!!!!!!"
"Placed a $1700.00 order on the fifth, received it on the 26th with two items missing front brake pads and and a magnetic oil drain plug. Called them back right away and asked for the missing items to be send out next day air. They said they could not cause next day would cost $88.00 when it really costs $36.95 per their web site. So they said they would meet me half way @ $15.00 to have the brake pads they forgot to put in the order shipped to me next day. Unbelievable!!! They mess up and I the customer has to pay for it. Is this what customer service is all about these days? I guess so. To make the story even better, The next day I did not receive my brake pads, so I called them back up. They now tell me that they pads are on back order and I have to wait till they come in. They have 6 on hand, now since my order was place on the 5th of the month and they missed the pad on the order shouldn't one of the 6 they have on hand be mine? You would think so but i guess not. I have had it with poor customer service these days. I guess when the economy goes down hill the only way businesses can stay open is to have crappy customer service. It seems like customer service is just a word now, so sad. Non the less Buyers beware, they will screw you other then help you out."
"You can order using BMW part numbers. Items as described in OEM boxes. Shipped fast. No issues or concerns."
"In May 2007 I placed an order of over $1200 from ECS tuning. According to their site ( http://web.archive.org/web/20060212013543/www.ecstuning.com/stage/edpd/termsofuse.html ) they warranty every product they sell for 1 year.
Less than 1 year later the brake rotors (Probably $100 of my order) went bad. Confirmed by a reputable mechanic. No problem, I bought these parts from a reputable dealer and they had a 1 year warranty just call them and we'll figure something out. NOT!
ECS went ahead and CHANGED the warranty statement on their website to exclude brake parts and acted like it had been like that since I had placed the order. Well compare the archive.org link above and the current warranty statement: http://www.ecstuning.com/stage/edpd/termsofuse.html
I have no problems with a business changing their policies but if you bought something and were told (in writing on their site) that the item has a 1 year warranty they need to honor that.
I will never buy from ECS Tuning ever again -- I've actually bought items elsewhere paying a little more just to avoid this shady establishment.
For the moderators, I've provided the "Transaction No." printed on the ECS invoice and also the "Order No." which was provided in the order confirmation email as I'm sure this post is bound to stir up some controversy (ECS is/was a forum sponsor on a very popular car forum and when I posted about my issues there they had my post deleted!)"
