"VERY DISSATISFIED CUSTOMER! I made an order February 14th. As of the 17th, there had been no change in status (under review), so I called to find out what the hold-up was. I was told that they would have to contact the warehouse and have someone from there call me back. An hour later with no phone call, I called back again and was assured the warehouse would call me back shortly. Two hours later I called back again (just before they closed) and was told that the customer service rep would call me back or e-mail me with the status. No call back, no e-mail...
So, the next morning I call and speak with a man who identified himself as "David" (turns out it was actually "Jeff" telling his first lie of the day). He assured me my order had just shipped that morning and I would receive a confirmation e-mail in the next day or two with tracking information. I proceeded to fill out the yahoo merchant ratings on erwincomp.com bemoaning the poor customer service. Wouldn't you know it, my order gets mysteriously cancelled by erwincomp.com sometime over the weekend. They don't send me an e-mail or call to notify me why.
On Monday morning, I call and speak to what turns out to be the real David. He immediately wants to know why I rated the company so poorly (as if it isn't obvious now). He claims my credit card was declined (another lie, I've made purchases on the same day and after with the same credit card and it's nowhere near its limit) and that the item is not in stock any more (probably another lie... the website still shows it in stock). After confronting him about one of his CSR's lying to me on Friday about the order having shipped, he starts trying to excuse it as a personal issue between me and the CSR. After I asked for verification that the order has in fact been cancelled and my credit card isn't going to be charged, David starts laying into me about not being an "experienced internet buyer". I have been making internet purchases since 1995. I finally had to say "David, Good Bye!" and hang up the phone on him.
I will make sure that no friends, relatives, or companies I ever work for EVER purchase from erwincomputers.com. I plan to contact the BBB and notify them of my experiences, as well.
AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!!!"
"This has got to be some guy running a store out of his basement. I purchased an item a month and a half ago and still haven't received it. When I try calling the phone is always busy and finally after about 30 calls and getting through some guy just answers the phone saying "hello", not erwincomputers or anything. Kind of strange.
Update: My item finally a month later came back in stock, (it would have been nice to know that it was out of stock when I ordered it, especially since I phoned in my credit card information and talked to them) but before shipping my order I needed to give them my credit card info again, kind of strange. Anyway it looks like my item a month later has finally shipped and this will be a sucessful transaction. Sorry for the belated Christmas gift Mom. I would probably do business with this store again."
"I ordered speakers for an ipod on the 14th, got an email saying they had received my order. I heard nothing and oin the 20th went to check the status. On the status page is says "order pending" I called to find out it was backordered. I was never notified. Now I have to rush delivery one from another store and bloow 40 dollars. Customer service was rude and unhelpful. Don't think you're saving money by ordering here. Go elsewhere!"
"I ordered a GPS from Erwincomp and later needed to have it serviced under warranty. The manaufacturer wants a copy of the receipt. Erwincomp did not provide a recipt when they shipped me the GPS, they sent me an e-mail. I called to request a receipt. Though they found the record of my purchase they (Jeff) rudely and absolutely refused to provide a receipt. I asked to speak to his supervisor and he refused to transfer me. He took my phone number and said the supervisor would call me back. The supervisor never called back. On their web site they brag about "Superior service before and after the sale." I don't want superior service, I want the most basic service, a receipt. You buy a pack of gum, you get a receipt. My $250 GPS is broken and I can't get it fixed under warranty because Erwincomp did not and will not provide a receipt."

"I investigated many sites and read reviews before I made my purchase decision. I looked for overall price on the 5 items I wanted to purchase including the shipping and tax. Erwin was the least expensive so then I read the reviews. Most of the reviews were pro and the consistent theme of the negative articles were the shipping costs and delayed shipping. I dismissed the cons and made the purchase on 1/14/04. At the time I made the order all items were shown in stock. I checked on the status and by 1/16 the order still didn’t ship so I called. The rep said the order should go out that day. It didn't. I called again on 1/20 where I was told one of the items wasn't in stock (batteries) so that's why they held my order. I asked why I wasn't told that the first time I called - no reply. All items were small and the total shipping weight was 3 Lbs. At the time the order was originally placed the shipping was $25. I asked for the order to be shipped without the batteries. The shipping charges were not reduced after they recalculated the shipment. I finally got the order 1/23 - 9 days after I made the order of "in stock" items. I spent just under $200 for software, cables and mounting brackets. I'd reconsider the next purchase from Erwincomp.com."

"Wow, fast service, great price! This is the store that finally motivated me to sign up for Resellerratings.com. I placed an order for two products over the weeked (July 4th weekend), they both shipped monday, and I had them on Tuesday - through UPS ground! They are only about 300 miles away from me, but they still must have shipped them early in the day to reach me overnight.
That plus their prices make a great store. $10 below the competition on a $25 product is excellent!
