"I have bought a number of new / used games here and have always had a good experience. The trade in process does take a little while, although if you have a card on your account you can get instant credit. I see a lot of people complaining about eStarland taking off value from their trade ins for being scratched, but put yourself on the other side of the transaction. If you buy a used game do you want it to be scratched up? I know I wouldn't. They have high standards of what they take. If you want reliable used games I would recommend them for sure. Also, if you take good care of your games you can expect a MUCH higher trade in value than gamestop. "

"In line with a few other comments on here, I have also had problems with trade-in orders. Any disk will be subject to their review and will more than likely be deemed "scratched" and result in a lower trade-in value than listed. Even despite the disk functioning 100%.

My first trade in with them went smoothly as I traded in my old Snes games and they shipped out my requested items at the agreed upon value. Considering that went so well I traded again when I decided to get rid of my ps1 and xbox titles. Well not only did I have issue with the disks as previously mentioned, but they straight up STOLE MY XBOX, When they received it they claimed it didn't work. I tested it right before shipping it out. It worked fine. Regardless, I requested that they at least ship it back to me. They then proceeded to ignore me to this date. I still occasionaly contact them about it but never get a response.

So ultimately I would say TRADE AT YOUR OWN RISK. You might get lucky and get some good deals, or they might swindle you. The latter seeming more likely.

"Ordered 2 Xbox 360 games from this company on Friday, October 29th. The following Monday, November 1st I saw my order was pending and decided to check the status of when it would be shipping. So I found out that since it was a gift for a friend that I had to confirm the shipping address before they would ship. Fine. I did this quickly over the phone and they told me it would be shipping soon and I would have an email confirmation. Not only did I never recieve any confirmations or anything, but I was never told to confirm my shipping address without me asking them for the status of my order via live support. Next, I was told the next day, Tuesday, November 2nd, that one of my items was out of stock, by the live rep, after inquiring once again as to the status...again no email communication, also the item appeared as "in stock" when I had ordered. So they told me it would be another 1-2 days until it would ship. Two days later, Thursday, November 4th, the items still have not shipped, and when I go to talk to a live rep, they are offline, having just missed them...leaving 2 hours before the hours posted that they are supposed to be availible. Also have sent 3 emails, none of which have recieved any replies. I would not recommend doing business with them.

UPDATE: Just tried again to get ahold of a live rep who was online. Entered the chat and asked my question only to be disconnected and have the online rep suddenly go offline. Save yourself the aggrivation of dealing with these extremely poor "customer service" practices.

UPDATE 11/17/10: Finally recieved one item on November 12th...Still waiting on backordered item number two which is said to be backordered, even though when I originally ordered it was in stock. Still not a single email notification of any kind.

"We had a terrible experience with this company and will never do business with them again. In our opinion, their trade-in program is a complete scam as they try to get you to send in your games and order from them based on trade-in values they quote you on their website. Upon receipt of your games, they then further drastically reduce the amount they will give you for your traded-in games on the premise that there are some "scratches" on these used games. This is a very subjective evaluation by them and resulted in a drastic reduction in almost all of the 25 games we traded in for store credit, even though all of the games worked fine and included the required instruction manuals and original packaging. Many of the games were reduced to one tenth of the amount quoted for the trade-in on their website, even though the games worked fine and were to be sold as "used" games by EStarland at very substantial profit margins. We would have been much better off dealing with any number of local used game resellers and will never do business with this company again as we believe their trade-in program to be at best very deceptive and deceitful and at worst it is a complete scam. "

"eStarland is a fantastic site for buying and trading video games, strategy guides, anime, and many other things. Since September of 2005, I've traded in nearly $900 worth of video games and other items. Every cent of that money has been used to purchase games from eStarland, and I've never been unhappy with a single item I purchased from them. Every single game I've ever bought from them has been competitively priced and in good condition. I highly recommend eStarland for anyone who has games that they'd like to trade in and get new games in return."

"If you value good customer service, DO NOT ORDER ANYTHING FROM ESTARLAND.COM because it doesn't exist. I found it virtually impossible to contact anyone who works there by phone, email or their "live" support, which is always down. Their answering service states that they are always closed. The one time that I did get through someone there hung up the phone on me and sent me directly to their answering service. Their website claims to have an item in stock before you order, then after you place your order it registers as having a wait period. Very, very shady business practice. When sending an email or making a phonecall to cancel a preexisting order, again, any customer service contact is non-existant. Also, I received no conformation emails to show that my order was taken or shipped. To make any sort of return, they ask that you contact them for a return authorization number, but that's only IF you can get anyone on the phone or by email. Now I'm stuck with a copy of a video game that was sent well after Xmas. An order that I tried many times to cancel before they charged me or shipped it. I will definitely be reporting estarland.com to the Better Business Bureau. These crooks should not be allowed to take advantage of online buyers. Again, I warn you, save yourself the headache and DO NOT BUY FROM ESTARLAND.COM. "

"Poor customer communication. Ordered an item that was shown as in-stock and shipping within 1-2 days. After a week, the order still had not shipped and I received no emails about the status of it. When I tried to get my order status via the methods on eStarland's web site: 1) the Live Chat was "offline" during normal business hours, 2) the contact email link provided on the site was broken, 3) no one answered the phone during the posted business hours and gave a "we are closed" message. When I finally reached someone via phone midday, he told me that they were out of stock on the item and were awaiting availability from the manufacturer. In the meantime, I located the item (a video game) from another retailer who informed me that the game was discontinued. Why eStarland did not have and could not give me that information is a mystery. I ultimately cancelled my eStarland order having no hope that they were going to find the item and ship it in time. Mercifully, the rep who helped with the cancellation did it quickly and emailed me a confirmation of it right away."

"A NOT TRUSTABLE shop... Im waiting 2 months to receive my order and thet didnt agree to send my money back... now they said that finaly delivered my order but when I ask them to send me something to prove that they really do that, they just ignore my emails.. "Wow, I cannot believe all the bad reviews for this site. I have made Several orders and one trade-in and they all went well. I have talked to live(web chat)support on the front page a few times, and they have always been friendly. I talked on the phone once about an order with an out of stock item, and it was handled swiftly.

My last order was a refurbished PS2, and its working great. Their site doesn't work very well with Firefox, but thats about all I can complain about. True, its a smaller company, but orders ship relatively fast and customer service is top-notch. I dunno whats with all the bad reviews, but Estarland is great place to pick up NES games.

"I do not recommend this store, their business practice is very very poor.

I originally ordered two items from them, A PS2 Controller and a PS2 Fliptop Case on 8/12/09. I got the controller, but i received the wrong Fliptop Case (Slim instead of old) in about 2 weeks time. So I emailed them, and got a reply within 2 days. So i package it up and sent it back via UPS Grounds with tracking thru my own pocket. Tracking showed that they received it on 9/3/09. So I thought that I'll have what I ordered within a few weeks, boy oh boy, I was very wrong about that.

They open up a new order to reflect the RMA. The thing was, It had not moved from "Processing" till this day. That means they had not shipped nor had they contacted me about the reason for the delay, and this is 5 weeks after they issued the RMA and got my item. They don't even reply to any emails I had sent them since the RMA.

So I tried to file a paypal dispute, but it was closed because of the 45day limit to file a dispute. eStarland notice the dispute and they even went as far and "VOID" the replacement order and act like nothing happened. Now I will have to escalate the problem later over the phone with paypal.

So I do not recommend shopping here, especially when something happen that wasn't caused by yourself and had to RMA it. Nothing happens after that and you lose your money and also the wrong item you received. Save yourself from so much trouble and shop else where.

If you still don't take my warning. Then I highly recommending you to file a claim first through paypal if you had RMA to cover your bases first. Better option would be to pay with a CC. That way you can get your card company to get the money back. Its less of a hassle without a middle man. (IE. Paypal.)

Edit: Today, Oct. 26 2009. I gotten a refund for the cost of the shell only. I still basicly spent $11.00 to ship it back and a handful of headache.

"This is a very good company to order from. I got Swap Magic for $22 plus shipping. I ordered Sunday, it shipped Monday and I got it on Thursday, no hassle at all. My only complaint would be that the CD-ROM disc is not SM 3.6 like the DVD-ROM one is but instead 3.8 Coder, a more complex and a little less user friendly version. Great shipping, and great service, not to mention a very pleasant surprise after being ripped off by a company earlier this month. "

"This store is amazing. The service was lightning quick, and the selection, of both figures and games, is quite exhaustive. They carry both new releases (for slightly less than retail price), and past generation stuff as well (Dreamcast, Saturn, PSX), and are stocked quite well with those.
The trade-ins I've done with them gave me quite literally double that of what Gamestop was going to offer me, and their used products and games are of supurb quality (I had to deduct a small bit from my trade ins because some of my discs were scratched, and they would have to resurface them, but that just shows the dedication these guys have.)
Got a wireless PS2 control from them for $17 (as opposed to $30), and it was in absolute perfect shape. These guys are absolutely and utterly amazing, and I have absolutely no clue how anyone else is possibly having any trouble with them at all The service is snappy, the prices are crazy good (especially for used stuff), the selection is incredible (probably one of the only non sketchy places to buy things like Magic Keys or console shells. They also have awesome anime/game figures).
I found my new favorite store, and I couldn't recommend them enough.

"Made an order Sunday night for 4 items, all said to be in stock and shipping within 24 hours. I selected priority (2-3 day shipping) for $12, which was high but I really wanted these 4 items.

2 days pass and the order is still processing. I contact their Live Support on the website, and was told by Kevin that the order would ship that day (Tuesday). Wednesday came and the order still had not shipped. Contacting Live Support once again, Kevin answered and told me that the shipping department was having trouble locating 1 of the games. However, the website stated the item was in stock.

Now I understand sometimes websites are not up to the minute on stock/out of stock. However, 3 days had passed and not even an email was sent stating that 1 of the items was backordered. No phone call was made to see if I wanted to have the other 3 items sent and the 1 cancelled, or wait for everything. No mention of anything whatsoever. However, my credit card was surely charged the entire order amount as soon as it was placed. They were nice enough to take my money and wait 3 days for me to ask them where my stuff was to tell me 1 item was "not able to be found currently."

Horrible customer service. As if no email was bad enough, it felt as if I was speaking to someone with no customer experience background whatsoever. Poor grammar, sentence structure, and communication on their part. DO NOT BOTHER WITH THIS SITE. There are plenty of other sites out there with excellent support. If it is an older game you are looking for, please use someone reputable, such as a high feedback ebay or Amazon seller.

"Pros: In theory, great prices and great catalog

Cons: No feedback! no order shipped! not notification of not having stock! I couldnt find anyone by phone / email.

Ok, I am evaluating to buy merchandise in a wholesale manner from different suppliers. One Order I made was with eStarland.com, after of like 2 weeks to trying to set-up the wholesale account, which was managed by Mr. Chris Kong from eStarland.

Ok, I made my list of products, so eStarland provided me with a Proforma Invoice with a $100 of shipping charge (to Laredo,TX), since they were "estimating" the shipping cost, ok, I purchased a lot of stuff. But for me was not acceptable that kind of shipping charge, and "less estimated"

Whatever, I made the wire transfer to their account (on Jun-20-08 for US$1316.99, and then, suddenly, I only received a confirmation of the wire, but not the shipping estimation date.

They were giving me excuses that they had "too many wholesale orders" and after calling daily (without finding Chris Kong, who is responsible of wholesale, and nobody else could help me) and sending emails, I requested to have my money back on July-9-08 (almost 3 weeks later)!!!

Ok, the issue doesnt end here, I got my money because of their errors in the bank account where they deposit until Jul-28-08, 1 month later of doing my wire transfer!!! and almost 2 months since I established my wholesale account.

I dont recommend buying from them, they are liers!!!! They did not had in stock what I was looking to purchase, but they did not adviced, and besides that, they managed my money during 1 month!!

If I could I would demand Mr. Chris Kong and eStarland.com, not fair company. I was about to do it via BBB because I did not have any answer from them and no money back!!!

PLEASE, DONT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY !!!!!! SAVE YOUR MONEY AND TIME!

I have all what I have said with evidence, emails, phone conversations, etc, anyone who wants to check, I am available to be contacted.
