RE: I am concerned about getting a reimbursement to my credit card.

The scenario: I am writing this note because their website and staff response has made it impossible for me to e-commerce with this business. All of the following contributed to making it impossible to doing any business transaction with them: I did not get E-mail responses from my inquiries. They lack a 1-800 telephone line. When contacting them via long distance telephone call the staff put me on extended hold or seemingly often dropped the call intentionally.

Online, I ordered a Samsung 315W Color Laser Printer from them on March 1, 2011. I was billed for the order on March 2, 2011, verified via my credit card monthly statement received by me on March 15. During this time frame, I was on vacation.

Back to work -- with this knowledge, I checked my E-mail for a FedEx shipping confirmation. Not finding that notification, I found the “contact us” tag on their website. So, on March 16th and 17th , I inquired about the status of my order. With no E-mail response, on March 18th, I called and talked with a staff member named Katrina. She told me about the “Status History & Comments” part of the website. She told me about the unexplained Hold on Shipping because of a concern about an open box/cartridge, etc. During this time frame, I had not been contacted via E-mail! She assured me it would be shipped Monday, March 21st. I called again on March 22nd , since no FedEx shipping verification was in my E-mail. I became more adept at looking at “my account” on their website and it wasn’t until this date that Katrina documented my acceptance of “OK to SHIP”. Although she assured me that she personally saw it shipped on March 23rd, I had no shipping NOR routing number from FedEx. Again with an additional telephone inquiry on March 24th, there was NO shipping confirmation number from them NOR from FedEx. On March 25th, Katrina said/confirmed that the product had been SOLD in another transaction. Ironically, at one point in time their update of “My Order History” said it was SHIPPED.

Be assured that I wanted to do business with them. I sure hope that at least they will follow through with a reimbursement to my credit card for this failed transaction.

"So, my AC adapter power cord got frayed on my HP laptop. It still worked, but I was concerned. I purchased an "HP" AC adapter.. not a replacement but genuine HP. Very cheap relative to the HP site. It failed. Called up, no problem. Here is the RMA, give us your credit card and we will ship out another. Charge me again, I pay return shipping. New one arrives, failure. Then they reject the first package I sent back. I am now into this for over $80 with 2 failed AC adapters. "

"I will never order anything from them again. I order an adapter for my laptop. It worked for a couple of days, but then failed to send any power to my computer. My fiance had a universal adapter that I used while I requested an RMA # from e-tech. Upon receiving my adapter, the company informed me that it was working properly & showed the adapter hooked up to some kind of testing machine as evidence that it was generating power. I attempted to explain that my fiance has the same device & while there is power coming from the adapter, somehow it is not reaching my laptop. They said that I would have to send them money for shipping if I wanted them to exchange the adapter. I asked for a refund & they agreed to send it out for free. I just received the replacement adapter yesterday & it still doesn't work!!! I will just pay a few extra bucks & order locally to avoid all of this hassle."

"Do not purchase anything online from E-Tech Silicon Valley. I ordered a laptop battery that did not work when I received it. I received an RMA and returned the product personally to their headquarters in Santa Clara. I called and they told me they had received the RMA and I would recieve a credit in 30 days. I called again in 30 days and was told they would only communicated by email. I sent several emails with no response. Check E-Tech Silicon Valley's reputation on the web. It is clear their MO is to take the money and not respond if there is a problem."

"Ordered a DVD drive replacement for my laptop on Dec 30 2010. Received the drive on Jan 3 2011. Item was defective with coffee stains and wouldn't recognize any media. Requested an RMA (Return Material Authorization) on Jan 4th per their warranty to exchange the item. Received the authorization on the 5th. Sent the drive back to e-tech, which was received on the 7th via fedex. Item was logged in 3 days later on the 10th. Replacement was not shippped until the 20th (10 days later) with no explanation or followup via phone or email for the delay. Contacted their office several times only to be told I needed to speak to "returns" or "shipping" but no answers to my query. When I finally got a hold of customer service, I requested the exchanged (replacement item) be tested prior to shipment and was told they would. Replacement item was shipped on Jan 20th via USPS media rate. New drive delivered Jan 27th. Item was installed that day and again was defective. Drive would not open from outside. When mechanical release was triggered with a paper clip, it was discovered that the tray was not even attached to the drive housing and that the electrical wires were also not attached. It was obvious the unit was never tested prior to shipment or this would have been discovered. I have requested another RMA as well as a full refund via their website. Shipping costs for both returns are my responsibility as per their return policy. Customer service is awful, product quality is awful, return policy is awful. Item orignally cost $59 but with two return shipments has now risen to $79+. "

" Terrible company, sent me defective motherboard. Then sent a replacment and it to was defective. They told me to send them both back for refund which was over 30 days ago, still no refund. Now Im going to my CC company. what a hassle. "

"DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!!!!!
I PURCHASED WHAT APPEARED TO BE A NEW CPU FAN WITH ASSEMMLY. THE WEBSITE DID NOT HAVE ANYTHING THAT STATED USED OR REFURBISHED OR PULLED. PICTURE SHOWED NEW PART.
I RECEIVED NOT ONLY A USED PART BUT IT ALSO WAS NOT ANY GOOD. CALL COMPANY FOR EXPLAINATION TO ONLY GET AN EMAIL ADDRESS.

"THIS COMPANY IS TERRIBLE!!! I ordered a charger for my laptop and when I got it, it didn't work. I went through the process of exchanging it and followed ALL directions required and THEY SENT ME THE SAME ONE BACK!! When I called to ask what I could do, the woman told me that I should have taken a picture of the box to have proof that it was sent, I guess the INVOICE and TRACKING number wasn't enough proof. DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THIS COMPANY!!!!!! I'm out $50 bucks (cost for the charger AND shipping it back)"

"Absolutely terrible experience - What these people are doing is clearly a scam, I have no doubt. Intentionally burying return information (for which they have no indication of on their "Shipping & Return" page), they enforced a "10 day" return policy on me after shipping me the incorrect part. They charge me $300, ship me the incorrect $200 part, then want it back, refusing any refund while quoting a 10 day return rule which doesn't exist on the very page titled "Return"

I wish I had read what others have written. Do not trust these people, they are criminals.

"DO NOT buy from this company. Both my Daughter and I bought power supplies from them hers arrived in two days mine in two weeks both being sent to the same address. After installing the supplies found out that both were bad. We requested RMA numbers to return them she got hers in two days, mine four days both with a three day return window. Mine was sent late Friday so we sent them back on Monday. They refused shipment telling UPS no Invoice but telling be the package was damaged. UPS can't help and I get no response from the company. All we want is a refund. I have also filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau . My next step is same claims court."

"TAKE YOUR BUSINESS AND MONEY SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!!!!!!!!!! I own a small computer shop in Spring, Texas and value every customer that walks through my door. If they ask for a refund..THEY GET A REFUND! I wish I read the previous reviews before undergoing this horrible service without a refund. I ordered a Power Supply from E-Tech on Oct 20th 2010 and it arrived DOA. As a result, the customer lost confidence in our ability to order working parts and cancelled the order. I notified E-Tech, received a RMA, and returned the PS immediately. E-Tech received the PS on Nov 5th 2010 and assured me that a credit would be posted to my account by Dec 5th 2010 (after a 30 day wait period). I havent received a refund yet and will contact them everyday (in addition to the BBB) until I receive my credit. Make sure you read reviews about an online source before you purchase. UPDATE 12/11/2010 - E-Tech responded but still no returned credit to my bank account!! "

"This has to be the all-time worst vendor that I have ever attempted to do business with. I ordered a disk drive from them that arrived DOA. My first indication that these people might be incompetent at best and dishonest at worst, was when it took them several days to get the item sent. Their web site indicates that items ordered before noon would be shipped that same day. When I called them and asked why the item had not been shipped, they claimed they did not know about the same day shipping indicated on their web site.

Upon discovering the item was DOA, I requested via email that same day a RMA number. It took them about a week to provide one. Upon receiving the RMA number, I returned the item via FedEx the very next day. Again, after several weeks and no response to my inquiries, I filed a dispute with the vendor via PayPal. E-Tech Silicon Valley responded that they required 30 days from the time they receive the item back for lab testing or something. When the 30-days had expired, and I still didn't receive a refund, I escalated my dispute to a claim, which PayPal immediately denied, because they said that a claim may only be made if the item was never received or was not as described.

Consequently, I notified my credit card company of the situation, and they immediately credited my account. It is now just before Thanksgiving, and I have not heard from e-Tech Silicon Valley and I do not expect to hear from them.

The bottom line: I will never do business with e-Tech Silicon Valley again, and I would strongly advise others to avoid this vendor like the plague. I have noticed that they have very low ratings. Based on my brief experience in dealing with them, it is obvious to me that there is a very good reason for these low ratings.

"DO NOT SHOP at this store!!! I ordered an "open box" toner cartridge, expecting an unused toner cartridge which had been opened and the box resealed but otherwise a new, unused cartridge. What I received was a nearly completely used cartridge (verified by weighing) with the inner sealed wrapper missing and a plastic protective strip broken. The RMA policy is terrible and the nonrefundable shipping AND HANDLING charges so high that it is uneconomical to return the cartridge for a refund. Furthermore, since the original sale was fraudulent, I have no confidence that the store would refund my money if I returned the cartridge; so I will use the 30% or so of remaining life and eventually recycle the empty cartridge properly. STAY AWAY from THIS STORE!!!!!! "
