"Ordered two TTL converter cables from these speedy folks.
2 x RS232-Male 3-5V TTL Type 1 Serial Converter 3 PIN F Cable (RS232-Male
DB6) = $13.90
------------------------------------------------------
Sub-Total: $13.90
(FedEx Express Saver®): $12.93
Total: $26.83
Paid premium shipping because I needed them in a hurry. Two weeks later, I called to see where my order was and was told it would be "processed tonight".
A week later I called again and the person who answered the phone, claimed they would check into it. Next day I got an e-mail from paypal with a refund and no communication or explanation from E-Tech.
What a horrible, horrible way to do an E-business.
Common sense and courtesy would have politely state that we are currently out of this item and we don't know when we will be getting any in.
That I could understand and could have looked elsewhere.
This put my project 3 weeks behind.
Will never shop from these folks again.

"I've been buying from various online resellers since 1999. E-Tech will be out of business soon. They are selling obvious used "pulled" products as "New". These are not even as good as "refurbished". Also, they have NO return policy. Just try to find return information on their site...If you care to read more: Purchased a Sony Vaio laptop replacement keyboard. Keyboard was clearly listed as "New - NOT Refurbished" on their site. Received a keyboard that was obviously the result of a system pull. It is in worse shape than the one it is replacing (3 yr old laptop). The data cable is badly damaged and the gold contacts have turned dark grey. I was surprised it worked. A few of the keys are "mushy" as if something very sticky was spilled on it at some point. The back of the keyboard has obvious chemical damage from some type of abrasive cleaner. First and last purchase from this soon to be out of business reseller.
****Update******** After one week of use, several keys including the space bar have begun sticking and not responding to normal typing pressure. What appeared to be "mushy" keys turned out to be something very sticky and we now have a keyboard worse than the one it replaced. E-Tech will not allow returns. $50 gone."
"E-Tech Silicone Valley.com is a business full of criminals. I am ordered a motherboard on January 11, 2010. It showed they were in stock and it would ship within 1-3 days. They billed my credit card on January 11, 2010. Three days pass and I have not received any confirmation that my order has shipped. So I call them and they tell me the item is out of stock. So they will issue a refund. I am still waiting for my refund. When you call them be prepared to wait at least 30 minutes. If you email them... don't expect a response. There are tons of complaints about this business online, and they have several complaint on file with the Better Business Bureau. I understand people make mistakes but avoid this place at all cost. They have no clue about customer service. They charged my credit card before even verify they had the item in stock. They say they issue a refund and it never comes..."
"Ordered a NEW Dell AC adapter for my laptop, worked for 10 seconds then stopped working unless I got lucky fidgeting with it, holding it in place in a certain position. Even then it wouldn't stay on. Not only that, but comparing it to the AC Adapter I was replacing (direct from Dell) it is not even the same adapter. The plugin cord isn't even the same! It has clearly been USED or poorly taken care of, as there are scratches/dents all over the adapter box AND cord, the bar-code is rubbed off from who knows what (use??).
I have taken photos of packaging, the adapter's condition, the difference in both adapters, and will be sending it back for full compensation. Considering taking a video as well since it seems you need a whole lot of proof these days.
Reporting this company to the Better Business Bureau, NFIC, IFCC and the Federal Trade Commission. "
"I ordered a backup SONY laptop battery for a long international flight from this merchant, paying a premium for overnight shipping, only to receive a USED battery scratched up in poor condition. The battery was not advertised as used on the product information page. What good is a used battery, really? I requested an RMA number but returned the battery after the 3 day period since that would require an additional premium shipping expense to get it there on time. The company refused to accept the product and process a refund. I missed the RMA date, but they committed a crime of selling used/damaged goods as new. The simple remedy would be to process a refund, but even contacting the management got me nowhere. I received a denial letter saying the product was received damaged. Duh. I received it damaged and that was the issue. Horrible vendor. Horrible customer service."
"L@@K!! VERY DISATISFIED, I received a used motherboard their description 1x Great Quality Series ZX-557 (ECS 557S) Motherboard from E-tech with the lcd connector on the motherboard damaged and the network socket also damaged. I notified them within minutes of receipt. Followed all of their procedures to return it and they replied with a letter telling me I cannot have a refund because the part I sent back was damaged. NOT HAPPY! I suggest that people stay away from this company as they are difficult to get in touch with. The response time is poor. They have little to no customer service. "
"This is not my first purchase from E-techsiliconvalley.com, I have too many transactions to count from shopping with them. Sometimes E-tech has the lowest price around, so I order from them, I buy everything all together in one order to make it easy and i pick up from store directly,so that if i have any problem I can return it back immediately ,but it never happened to me ,all the items which i bought from them were working good for me. I also like using E-techsiliconvalley.com site to find out more information about a item I am looking to buy and also getting to see some good pictures of the item as well, E-techsiliconvalley.com provides nice detailed information about all of their items included date it was first available on their site, weight of item, and dimensions of item, etc. It's very helpful information and it is also accurate information, I will continue making purchases from E-tech as long as they are in business. Thank you

"This company is HORRIBLE to do business with. Their advertising is deceptive and their tech support is non existent. I had a similar experience as others with problems listed on this site. They were advertising a Western Digital drive that I was looking for, to do some data recovery. I was first sent the wrong drive { a totally different model than I had ordered } and after explaining to Reena Merrit the fact that I needed an exact drive due to my data recovery needs,I had to send it back. Another week later I receive the correct drive but...its used and DEAD... out of box failure. I again call and speak with Reena, who tells me first that The tech assigned to my case will have to call me back. I never get a call back. I call them and am again told that the tech is "in the field" and will call me back...no call back. I call again, no Reena this time but a woman with a different name...sounds like Reena though... and after a similar conversation, am promised another call back...of course...no call. I call back again and ask again for the status of my case. The woman is annoyed and discourteous, and of course no answer, no calls back. I call back again and ask to speak with Bruce...a name I found from this site. I am told that he is not available but if I give them till Monday {this call was on Friday} he will call me back. Of course no call on Monday, and when I call them back on Monday to find just what the F@!* is going on, I am told by some obnoxious man on the phone, who won't let you get a word in edgewise, that all phone conversations are recorded , I must have broken the drive, and to take whatever legal action I would like, and proceeds to hang up on me. This is after sending this e-mail to Bruce:
Bruce;
I have a situation and a problem with a drive that I placed an order for on 11/06/2009. This problem is with a Western digital hard drive model WD4000KS-00MNB0, Invoice # 4702. This drive is an out of box failure, with the usual WD read write “ Click of Death “symptoms. This drive was going to be used to recover data from a similar drive with a similar problem. I explained this to Rena when I was original sent an equivalent but not identical 400g SATA drive one week ago. I need a totally working and preferably new drive {that is what I paid for} so that I may recover data from an identical drive to this one. Until I have a complete drive to use as a donor, I am dead in the water on my repair. I may have to change the entire stack from my drive into a new donor drive, hence the need for a TOTALLY working drive. I have been promised a return call for days from “the tech assigned to my case” to resolve this issue, and to date I have not received any calls at all. In desperation I started searching the net last night for information about E-tech at Silicon Valley and found to my amazement that this type of thing has happened to many other people who ordered from your establishment. It also seems that YOU are the “go-to guy” in situations such as this. I feel that I have been extremely patient with this entire matter, but my patience has reached an end. I need this matter resolved TODAY!!!!. Please call me back if there is anything that can to rectify this problem, as I need to recover this data ASAP. Thanks……
Of course... no email back...
I have since filed with the BBB and will see what they can do about these thieves.
Bottom line... These people SUCK to do business with. And I would LOVE to hear from Bruce, as he apparently reads these reviews and is in charge of damage control at e-tech.

"Dealing with this company is the worst consumer experience I've ever had. I ordered an EVGA motherboard that was advertised as new. When I got it, it was obviously used. I immediately called and asked them why wasn't it new. They said it was the last one that they had and that it was in working order. They even offered me $50 off the price I paid. They also said that if it didn't work, I could RMA it for a refund. I decided to take the discount, only to realize that the motherboard didn't work at all. I promptly sent in an email for an RMA, and sent the motherboard board out right away. After that, every time I sent an email they would just say "The returns department is processing it." Then they said that the cpu was damaged, which made no sense since I ordered a motherboard. I now am going to report them to the BBB and the Attorney General. They basically stole my money. I never got my refund and when I ask to speak to a manager they say that "Bruce" will call me back. This "Bruce" person never contacts me and is never there. I have reported them to my credit card company and have taken steps to get my money back. DO NOT buy from these people. They are a scam and have virtually no customer service. They advertise items falsely and don't bother contacting people when it comes to given money back. BUYER BEWARE!!!"
"I bought a power supply from e-tech siliconvalley, still running smoothly ,nice power supply. Powering 5 SATA drives (80 Gig Raptor, 1 Terabyte Caviar Black, and others), 1 IDE DVD, and a Diamond HD3870 DDR4 512M PCI-E video card (the big, heavy one), as well as the motherboard and up to 5 USB devices at one time.
4-pin CPU power connector, my board desires 8-pin but allows for 4-pin usage. I wish the cables were about 3 inches longer, I have a big server-style case and the cables are a stretch. Note that even with a standard 'tall' tower case cables are more than long enough (just 'a stretch' with the extra-large server case). Not really 'cons' or complaints, just telling the truth. It works, and that's all one can ask from a power supply. It works well at a VERY nice price. The price is SO nice that even if you're one of the unfortunate few with a DOA PS, it's worth the return hassle to get another one that works.I would recommened to buy power supplies in e-tech if u want the best deal."
"This company has no customer service. They sent me the 2 correct and 1 incorrect drives and now which I paid $50 for overnight shipment, then called them 3-4 times over 2 days to talk to someone (named Bruce) and never heard back. I will be calling BBB and AMEX to challange the charge. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY! "
"
I Have ordered from E-TECH for years, never have any problems that E-TECH doesn't take care of fast and with excellent customer service. Just ordered a whole new system a couple of weeks ago, motherboard was DOA, not E-TECH's fault of course. RMA'd back to E-TECH and in exactly one week they had already recieved, repaired, and returned my motherboard in working order. Who else is that quick with an RMA. E-TECH has alway been cheap, good quality, and on top of their game. I will always check newegg first for any hardware needs, and might even pay a little more to get it from them just for the peace of mind that it's coming from E-TECH. Thanks, for being a business people can rely on and trust, keep going. "
"I have made many purchases from e-techsiliconvalley.com and found their service to be outstanding. I recently used their live chat function on their website and had my question answered immediately. This is one of the most effective ways to respond to their customers concerns. I would not hesitate to recommend E-tech to anyone."
"I ordered a mother board for my aging Dell D810. I'm a commercial shipping pilot which means I bring large ships into ports that the captain is unfamiliar with...mostly New York and Boston Harbors. I also Captain a large research vessel. I use my laptop to interphase with onboard systems of different ships so I can use navigation and plotter systems that I'm familiar with for increased safety reasons. A new computer is basically out of the question since most ship with Vista (no hyper terminal which I need).
On DECEMBER. 24th 2008 I ordered and paid for the motherboard. When I received the package I found it was the wrong board. I expressed this to the company and didn't hear back initially. By the end of January I was provided a RMA and returned the board along with a picture of the correct mother board. I was contacted again after the picture was misplaced and emailed another one. That was APRIL 15th 2009. By APRIL 28th 2009 I was sent the correct mother board but it did not work. I promptly returned it along with emails explaining the issues I was having with this defective board. A suggestion was floated that I send in my computer which I was not going to trust them, or anyone for that matter, with especially after it took so long just to get me the correct mother board.
It is now NOVEMBER 1st 2009 and after several emails and a couple of phone calls to someone named Rena I have nothing to show for the initial $300.00 I paid in cost and shipping. I've received none of the promised return phone calls, nor have any of my emails been answered. At this point I'm considering legal action for fraud. I gave them my money and have absolutely nothing to show for it...nothing at all. This is an unacceptable situation no matter how you spin it"
