"How I wish!

I ordered a Panasonic DC MODEL FZ20 Black on Wednesday 16th. February 05 at a cost of £350.66 inc delivery. Camera was delivered on time Saturday 19th. via CityLink. As soon as I opened the box I could see from the state of the camera box that it had be knocked about. Carefully opened it ?? I certainly was not the first! The instructions were previously opened and used, the SD card was in a tatty bit of polythene. On inspection the of the card I notice score marks. It had been well used. Not it's self a problem, besides, I would never have used a such a small card anyway. I can see that the camera packaging was not as it left the factory but never mind I thought, it's a probability that it is a perfect RETURN. To my surprise it is a SILVER model and looks in perfect shape. No marks. Look for the battery. Put it in. Dead as a DOe DOe. Now we all know these batteries need charging, but there is always something in them. Where is the battery charger? OK it's there. BUT, it's a 2pin American plug, Not even like the Euro 2 pin plug. So absolutely useless to me without a proper English plug.
I pack it all up and get on to the Ebuyer website.

I get an immediately response. Exactly as one would expect from a reputable web site. Bearing in mind this is on a weekend! When would I like it collected? Monday please and it was collected by CityLink. Absolutely as it should be. I know mistakes can happen with a busy company.

I was particularly keen to know if they were going to replace it with the correct model. So, as well as the all the paperwork, copy E notes, in the box, I also sent a letter asking for confirmation that they were going to replace it or not, with the Black model ordered and with a UK Plug. Because now, the model Black or Silver was not showing up on their web site. I need to know please, I, said, in order to order another from another supplier.

This letter was also sent by recorded delivery which was signed for on Tuesday 22nd. February 05. I sent a separate E note as well asking them to confirm my letter questions.

On this Day Tuesday 22nd. I get an Email to say that they had received the camera and were proceeding as per their conditions of the RMA.

OK fine.

WHY AN EARTH CAN A COMPANY GET IT RIGHT UP TO THIS POINT AND THEN COMPLETELY MESS IT UP FOR THE SAKE OF ANSWERING A SIMPLE QUESTION LIKE

"Sorry we are out of stock. We will credit your account in due course". I pointed out in my Recorder Delivery letter, that the credit was not the problem - in due course would be OK. But no they cant be bothered to answer. As a result I do a search Google for Ebuyer problems. Wow 1000's of dissatisfied customers. I just wonder, will ever get my money back?

"This company do offer very competitive prices but when things go wrong, they go very wrong.

I purchased a DVD writer from eBuyer which failed within the first 12 months. So I sent it back and they confirmed that it was faulty and sent it back to the manufacturer for repair / replacement. They said this would take 28 working days. 33 working days later I had no response. So I raised an eNote, 7 working days later no response. I contacted the manufacturer directly, they confirmed that the item hadn't arrived and wasn't registered on their system.

To sum up, if things go wrong after the first 28 days of ownership you'll have a hard time getting a replacement.

"I needed to purchase an HP Procurve 2524 switch so I searched pricewatch and froogle for best prices. Once I found the etailers with the most competitive prices, I checked each website and queried ResllerRatings. I called to very the switches were in stock and that they were brand new not refurbs. Associate answered my questions to my satisfaction and I ordered online.

I received the switches a few days later exactly as described. Good experience all around.

"I've ordered extra battery for my powershot S45. Found best price around even had option to buy energizer for 1/2 what canon brand battery cost.
I've had 2 more orders - printer curtriges & toner. I've had no problem-always getting right stuff in reasonable time. They don't overprice their shipping, although they charge more if items ship from different places.
I've seen many bad reviews about this store, but I myself always had good experience with ebuyer.

"I have made two orders from this company recently, attracted to their low cost. I regret that decision.

My forst order I received 11 days after I ordered it, and it was damaged. It was collected free of charge swiftly which was good, and I had asked for a direct replacement. I did not get the replacement, simply an email stating they are refunding my account. I am still waiting for the money.

My second purchase, 2 hard drives and a controller card with a cable. The hard drives did not arrive after I made a priority delivery order. That was several days ago. They have debited the sums for he drives already, but have made no reply to my 2 emails, and three online 'enotes'. They have no phone number to call in case of problems like this. I managed to find a number through Citylink (their couriers). EBuyer kept me on hold for just over 20 minutes with not even a request for my enquiry, at which point I gave up.

I have read some very disturbing reports, including a magazine report on extremely bad customer service from this company. I certainly will never use them again.

"I've always been happy with Ebuyer until recently when I had to return something.

Their returns process is all done on-line - you cannot "talk" directly to anyone, and you cannot add to or modify the RMA process/notes once you have submitted the original RMA request. This process took two weeks which didn't help as I needed the part quickly, but they warned in my case it could take 3 weeks. It took 8 days from when they received the item to when they opened the box and saw that it was (visibly) broken.

You cannot respond to the RMA notes.
You cannot call them directly.
E-notes are the only way of contacting them but: -

They only promise to get back within 4 business days and
You can only have one open E-note at any time.

All in all, their prices are GREAT, this is the only problem I have had, the returns process is straight forward but you have no control over it and it is too slow. If it is one of the "free shipping" items I would recommend asking for a refund instead of a replacement, and getting a new item shipped out as a separate order. The week that this takes for the free shipping is still faster than their returns process.

"I ordered a very cheap computer case from ebuyer for $24 on Jan 10th around 3:30pm PST. Only after an hour, the case was shipped and I was given a UPS tracking number. This was the fastest shipping I've ever met with online computer store.
The case arrived on time. However, the power supply was damaged in transit. So I took a few photos of the deformed power supply box and called their customer service. Their customer service line is a local number. But it's very easy to get through, no waiting for me at all. The lady on the phone politely instruct me to go through a RMA process. Then I filled out a RMA request form. The second day I received an email saying my request was approved. It said "a replacement case will be shipped to you at no cost" and "you can keep the defected case as a spare". Again, it was shipped out later that day. Now I have received the second case.
I used to read a lot of reviews about a store before I made an online purchase, but never wrote one. I must say my purchase experience with ebuyer is the most pleasant one. I highly recommand this store to everyone.

"Ordered TFT Monitor, HDD and a cooler from Ebuyer on Monday. Since I needed the monitor urgently I paid extra money for priority delivery and been promiced that I will receive goods 12 of January. ( My order status still says "Deliver by 12 January" ). On 12 of January I've received HDD and a cooler ( total sum 100 pounds ) but the most expensive item, the monitor which costs 700 pounds is still in the shop. They don't reply to eNotes and I can't find any other contact information on the web site. I'd not recommend to buy anything expensive from them especially if you need it urgently.

Update: Finaly I have received the monitor 26th of January but still no single answer to my 3 eNotes

"I have been using eBuyer since June 2002 and have experienced no major issues apart from my most recent order where it was impossible to get in touch with them apart from eNotes and emails being sent out late regarding delivery dispatch.

Never had to send a purchase back so I cant comment on their returns service but I understand others here have had huge problems.

"DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY! I ordered a portable DVD player from e-buyer for my daughter for Christmas. It arrived in non-working condition. I returned it immediately and I'm still waiting for a credit to my credit card. IT HAS BEEN TWO WEEKS!
