"Hated this store. They're credit card nazis, wouldn't let me ship to any address except my own. I can live with that, but then they screwed up the address, which messed up the payment, and they weren't available when I tried to call them on the phone to straighten it out. I ordered on 11/28, and it's now 12/7, trying to get a present for christmas, and I don't have time to mess around with these guys."
"I ordered a Sandisk Memory Stick Pro 1GB
and a 8 In 1 Reader/Writer USB 2.0.
Excellent prices, packaging, delivery time, and service.
I would buy from ebuyer again.

"I ordered with standard delivery. They shipped the next day, and it arrived the day after that. No hassles. Outstanding."
"The website is very slow. It takes over a week for them to even send the goods out. They have no telephone, snail mail or email contact details, you can only contact them via their online form. It then takes almost another week for them to respond. An utterly dreadful service."
"247110 I ordered a Garmin GPS Unit on a Sunday. Had to call them on Tuesday to check up on the status of the order b/c their website still had it listed as "Security Check" which means "Your order is queued in our system and is waiting to be processed by our Order Management Team"... basically no one had gotten to my order after two business days. After calling, the status of the order moved to "Goods Allocated" which means "Some or all of your items have now been sourced from one or more of our available dispatch points. If all items have been allocated then a Confirmed Ship Date should follow shortly."... sounds good right? So then the status changes to "Payment Taken" which is obvious what this means, my credit card was charged. I now go into the site and the status is "Cancelled", and I get an email stating:
"Unfortunately the above product(s) is/are currently out of stock. Your card has been refunded and the item(s) removed from your order.
Regards
Ebuyer"
Well... thanks for the regards Ebuyer... It's funny how when I ordered the product 33 of them were in stock."
"Ordered protable dvd player on Monday, received item on Wednesday with standard shipping. Item arrived in good working condition. Very satisifed with response. Packaging was marginal. Item was inside another box but only had small amount of paper for padding. Only problem I see with this company is that if you have a problem with the item you are on your own. You will not get any help from them. If they would provide some customer support in this area they would be great company to order from. I would be hesitant to order a high dollar item from them because of this."
"I ordered an HP L2335 monitor from ebuyer.com on Monday, November 15, 2004 for $1494.25. I paid $53.84 for overnight shipping. The product arrived on Wednesday, November 17, 2004. I opened the monitor box and proceeded to hook it up to my computer.
Once I turned on the monitor, I immediately knew it was defective. Evidence of this begin as a series of horizontal defective pixels (about 10 percent of the screen) effectively making the $1494.25 monitor useless. Also, several smudges appear on the bottom center screen, and looking at these from a vertical position reveals a series of outward ripples on the display.
Here are 4 pictures showing the condition of the monitor as it arrived:

I contacted Ebuyer support at the long distance number of ***-***-**** that is listed on the screen. I explained the situation and was told that nothing could be done. I pleaded that the problem of receiving a damaged monitor should not be upon me, the consumer, and was told by the representative that "It's not our problem either." I talked to a supervisor and was told that I must contact HP because Ebuyer does not accept returns of LCD monitors.
I am now required to proceed with the burden of all the leg work of replacing my defective upon arrival $1494.25 monitor, completely on my own. Ebuyer is offering absolutely no solution on their end and basically running away with $1548.09 price tag I paid, including the overnight shipping charge.
After contacting HP support, they offered to replace the monitor within 2-3 business days; however it would be in Refurbished condition. I explained that I purchased this monitor brand new, paid a full price, and that it was damaged out of the box. They will now send me a new monitor, but this process will take 5 to 7 business days.
Bottom line: I paid $1548.09 to order a BRAND NEW monitor in working condition and receive it by next day shipping from a retailer. This has not and will not be the case, and as a customer I am offered absolutely no consolation by the retailer. The problem is mine.
Obviously, as Ebuyer.com sees it, the only thing important about the customer is the customer's money."
"Quick shipping. Price is fair with the quality of the case I got, but the price is the cheapest I can find over the network. Would do business again."
"Ordered on the 17th October 2 items, one being a 250Gb USB2 external hard drive - card debited same day. Goods delivered on 19th but drive was an 80Gb Firewire.
24th received a RTA number to return wrong drive which was collected 26th.
Now it is 8th November and I'm still waiting for a refund (as requested if there was going to be a delay) or the correct goods which I have noted have been out of stock since the 26th October.
There is no telephone support, only an enotes system which prohibits a follow up note until responded to or the first withdrawn and the 4 or more days starts over for a reply.

"I bought 2 Samsung 172X LCD monitors and the Logitech MX1000 wireless mouse. I ordered them on Saturday and they were at my door on Wednesday (with free shipping). Everything was in perfect condition and these were the best prices on the internet for both items. So my experience with Ebuyer has been very good. My order did come with a note stating that if there were any problems with my merchandise, that I should first try contacting the manufacturer before contacting Ebuyer. Since all items are brand new and under warranty, I see no real problem with this. But luckily, my order arrived in perfect shape."
"Updated 29/11/04:
Well, after a lot of shouting, fair dues to eBuyer, they finally got the kit to me and even refunded the postage in full (only fair as I'd paid extra for next day delivery). I stand by my original statement of them being very good if everything goes smoothly, but just be aware that if things don't - you could be in for a rocky ride. So my advice has to be if it is a little more expensive elsewhere, you might want to pay a bit extra for customer service. Your choice.
Original Post:
eBuyer may be one of the cheapest for computer equipment, but over the last few months I have become increasingly dissatisfied with them.
My most recent experience involved trying to purchase a wireless modem router. This was shown as being in stock. Due to technical problems at home, rather than suffer the frustration of a teenage boy being without internet access, I ordered this for next day delivery. I also ordered a couple of other items. My order was accepted and their web site showed that 3 boxes would be shipped to me. The next day 2 boxes were shipped. I checked the web site, no sign of anything saying partial shipping so I contacted the courier company who informed me they only collected 2 boxes. They do not publicise phone numbers or email addresses but insist on enotes. The problem is with enotes is that you can only have 1 open at a time - I already had an open query relating to my previous order, so I tried raising an RMA request - just to get the message through, these just got deleted. I have now cancelled my original enote (which hadn't been actioned after 6 days even though they say 2) just so I might bet some response. If not, I shall have to consider visiting them in person with my very large dog in tow.
"
"bloody awful:
- removed items from order without consulting me
- shipped DVD player with no protective packaging, casing ruined on delivery and item DOA, problems with RMA, no replies to communications about same RMA
- still waiting for more than half of ordered items to arrive
- no phone number
- no email addresses
Awful, will not be using them again."
"Previously had good experances of ebuyer - their automated systems are very good. Prices are low and I have reccomended them in the past.
However in my last order I was sent a non uk modem and a faulty processor. A month on and I'm still waiting for my replacements....
Ebuyer are good until something goes wrong, after then your going to have your work cut out even getting a response from them. As they have now stopped phone contact, you can only communicate via a ticket system which leaves you waiting between a week and 10 days between responses.
Would I use them again? No way, I'd pay the extra few quid just to know if anything goes wrong, it'll be fixed by a professional company.
Update: Over a month on I still hadn't received any goods from them. They didn't reply to any notes I left them. Ended up getting my card issuer to refund the money. Try www.aria.co.uk much better."
"I found the prices on ebuyer are pretty good in general. But I was so disappointed by their customer service and return service. I got an incorrect delivery and was unable to have ebuyer to get me the right one. It has a online return system, but it only told me to contact the manufacturor instead. But why should I contact a manufacturor that does not make the item I purchased?
Ebuyer also has a enote system, which claims to be able to give "speedy" response to customers. I left three "enotes" on their server and got no reponse after a week. There is simply no way to email them.
They have a phone number which is always busy. I have been calling for three days and was never able to call in.
Think about this situation if you want to buy anything from ebuyer. "
"ebuyer does not accept returns, this is not even a business - What store has no return policy (short of DOA items) ? Customer service does not even acknowledge rma request. Do not buy anything from these people."
