"I purchased a barebone from Econo PC .Purchased barebone #BBPCP47224 . That is a barebone 478 socket .Motherboard ,processor and 300 watt power supply .Cost me 301.00 total. They did not contact me and tell me they did not have this barebone in stock ,instead they took it upon themself to send me something else.
They sent me item #BBPCP4224,which consists of a pent 4 423 socket motherboard.Which i am told works with the 478 socket pent 4 processor ,,but is not as stable as a 478 board .They adapted my 2.4 gig pent 4 478 socket chip to this m/b.The price of this barebone is 237.00 dollars .
Did not get any money bak ,instead they charged me 301.00 for a 237.00 barebone .I complained and so did the source that purchased it for me ..They told us thats what they have ,and thats what they send when they didn't have the other .If i was not satisfied ,send it bak at my cost for shipping .And they would charge a 15% restocking fee.
Well i decided to eat it and keep it on account of i din wanna lose more than i already have on the deal .Then the m/b had a problem with the ram slots ..Sent that to them at my cost for shipping .They claimed they tested the board and was nothing wrong with it .Charged me another 47.00 for testing the motherboard and shipping it bak to me ..Funny part about that is they sent me a brandnew m/b and proc .If there was nothing wrong with it ,why would they send a new 1 ? They said for customers satisfaction .Which sounds rather fishy to me .
I do have the pc running now ,Yet i had to do much searching throughout the net and computer shopws for specs on usb power connectors and other things tech should have beeen able to help me with .Yet they wouldn't .Instead they told me they would fix it if i sent it to them at my expense and paid them to do so .
Even tho they are the reason the board was removed from the case ,to send it to them for repair and testing ..I see it as Econo Pc is a money making facility and cares less about there customers satisfaction ..The warrenty they provide is a fluke ,cuz if it wasnt they would never charge people qwhen they replace things .
I see it as Econo PC owes me the remaining balance from 301.00 -237.00=64.00 and the 47.00 they charged me to test and ship and the 6.00 i paid to ship m/b to them ..thats a total of 117.00 they have ripped me off and they was planning on making it higher .
I dont advise any1 to purchase anything from this facility .And i never will ever again .Sure would appreciate any1 with any help on this matter..BBB bureau says im out of luck ,but i believe EconoPC has them fooled ,along with many other people .

"Purchased a Mobo combo on the 29th of June and recieved an email with a tracking number saying it was shipped, checked UPS with supplied tracking number and it says it was delivered to SEAGOVILLE Texas! I just happen to live in Colorado!!!! Hmmm WTF? Now some else has my components and I have to spend time on the phone with these Jack asses!!"
"Terrible people there. My order has a lot of problems: credit card can't be verified, need signature/driver license photo copy for releasing... Then, $15 extra bucks to "upgrade shipping" my order and $20 to upgrade the CPU fan magically fixed all these problems. However, the mother board died few weeks after arrival.
I checked on Newegg, the retail MOBO is just $6 more expensive than theirs if I add up the shipping and upgrade."
"NO REPLY TO EMAIL. NO DELIVERY OF COMPUTER. PAID FOR 3 DAY SHIPPING AND STILL WAITING. THEIR PHONE HAS BEEN BUSY FOR 3 DAYS.
Over a week now and phone has been busy and they will not answer any emails.
2 WEEKS AND STILL NO DELIVERY.PHONE BUSY EVERYTIME I CALL. MUST BE OFF THE HOOK.
2 WEEKS AND STILL NO REPLY TO MY EMAIL AND PHONE STILL BUSY EVERYTIME I CALL.
UPDATE:
Has been over a month and still nothing from them. What a waste of time dealing with this company."
"I ordered a CPU+motherboard combo from them last March (I just found this website). They sent me the wrong CPU and wrong motherboard. I phoned them two weeks after I returned the items to check on the status, they told me that it was the CPU and that they will be sending the correct one, but that the motherboard tested out ok and that they were returning it to me. I had to explain to them that it may be a little better board, it wasn't compatible with the parts I was putting in it. When I finally received the correct parts about a month later, the motherboard only came with a single sheet of paper with the basic jumper settings on it. Luckily I found the whole manual on the internet. Why does it have to be so difficult to just send me what I ordered."

Check out Accubyte's Rating for this company, They are the same company."
"I purchased a mother board and CPU from this company. Had to return it twice. Second time I asked for a refund. They charged my for restocking defective components and I was stuck with the two warranties on product I couldn't use.
Customer Service was terrible.

"Hello everyone,
If for any reason you need and computer parts DONT SHOP THIS STORE, these guys are frauds. I had recently purchased a motherboard processor combo kit from econo pc. When I installed the unit it did not work. I went onto their website and sent them an email to which they responded to receive an rma number which I did. I had sent the kit back to them about 1 week after I received it. after about 2 weeks i had sent them an email inquiring about the kit, when I did they sent a tracking number that it was shipped back to the house. When I got the kit back there was a note in it that all products are working properly, so I go and reinstall the board and the processor, it still does not work. So I leave it at that for about 2 weeks thinking that I did something wrong in the installation so I decide that Im going to send it out for repair, It goes to a store in the area from here. Low and behold it was nothing that I did wrong the processor was bad and the funny thing is that according to info on the chip, the chip was about 2 years old. Now which brings me here today, all of this has gone down in late march and early april, Econo pc has changed their rma procedure, you need to call and get a number from them to send it back, lol, try calling them, you get a busy signal every time, I have tried everyday since my computer was repaired to either get a new processor or my money back on the item, tried calling and emails have had absolutly no responce from them. I hope people read this and heed the warnings of others, your asking for trouble if you shop there, if its broke its yours dont bother to call them.

"I recently ordered a processor an never even recieved the item at all! No reply to emails or anything! They are just THIEVES!!!!!
DO NOT BUY FROM THESE THIEVES!!!!!!!!!! "
"The bare bones computer system this company sent to me would not work with Windows XP. So I got an RMA# 70254ARR from them and sent the product back on March 19, 2003.. here it is June 24th and I still have not received any credit back.. despite contacting the company via email (can't call them because their customer service line is always busy). WARNING **** DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY - EconoPC also known as "Prime Computer Distributors, Inc.""
"I ordered an AMD Athlon XP 2100+ as an upgrade to my Soltek SL-75DRV2 Mobo. Prior to my purchased I confirmed, via Soltek's website, that my board, with the latest BIOS update would accept the chip. I purchased from EconoPC based upon its listed price on pricewatch.com. I have order many parts via the internet for years, but not from EconoPC. I also learned of ResellerRatings.com only a day or so after I had ordered my part so I really freaked out when I read some of the comments! Happily, the part arrived on time and in good condition. It was shipped with proper packing material and I confirmed that the chip I received was the chip that I ordered. Sadly, my computer would not boot with the new chip! I went back to the Soltek website, dug deeper and found that my MOBO will accept the older Palomino XP, not the newer Thoroughbred chip!
I obtained my RMA via EconoPC's website and returned the part per their instructions. Where EconoPC falls down is that 1) there was no confirmation that they received my part. 2) They never did contact me on the status of my RMA and 3) they do not have a dedicated email or published phone number for contacting them about RMAs. The RMA paperwork states "please do not request RMA status unless 10 working days have passed without any communications from us” As stated, no commo at all...nada. I made my first long-distance phone call (it appears that only their Sales Department has a toll-free number!) to them 12 working days after I had sent them back the part. I was told "look for the credit by weeks end". Nada. I called again this past Monday and was assured that the credit would show up within the next two days. I can report that it has been done.
In the end my experience with EconoPC was a mixed bag. It took a bit longer than I though it should have taken to get the credit, but throughout the process EconoPC was courteous and straightforward in their dealings with me.

"Hmmmm 4 months ago, I purchased a PCCHIPs motherboard and AMD Athlon XP 1700 from these guys. It was one of their MB\CPU\HSF combos... Worst mistake I ever made... Something was wrong with the MB. It would run fine for a while, but whenever I went to shut down or reboot, would not boot at all, no matter if I was using the onboard video, or a PCI video card. Just would not boot. no I reflashed the bios, which was bad, and then I tried to RMA it back to econo pc... Their RMA rules state that you have to re-order the part again, from their website, after filling out the online RMA form. Then you had to ship the broken part back to them and then they would apply credit. Well the MB alone retailed for $70.00 buck on their site, yet the combo was $114.00. So there-in lies my problem. I tried for 3 days straight to call their tech-support, but no matter what I did (even called at the exact time their t-s line was supposed to open up) I always got a busy signal. In frustration, I would call their sales line, and the sales people would always tell me "The T-S dept is in a nother building, and we are unable to call over to, or transfer you to the other building". In frustration, because I needed the parts for a client,I ordered a nother MB\CPU\Combo, but guess what??? THey no longer offered that particular model of MB, so I ended get a different PCCHIP's MB which cost about $11.00 more...
These guys are horrible... and I never did get to return the MB\CPU\Combo... I left messages with the sales team and my phone number, numerous times... no one ever called me, ever..."
"I am sorry to see so many unsatisfied customers. I had a very good experience with this reseller myself.
I ordered a motherboard combo, heatsink, modem, and a bare CPU on two different orders.
Both shipped quicly with tracking, arrived on time and in good condition and when I did call I always got decent answers without any problems.
Their prices are hard to beat and until I have any real problems with them I will continue to order from them. I do hope they can turn around their image because If I had checked here before ordering, I probably would have paid more elsewhere."
"Ordered a PC from econopc which would only display a black screen. They claimed damage in shipping. There was no damage. I pulled the video card and it worked fine which shows they never tested it. I returned the video card with authorized paper and have had no results. Forget about refunds from this company. They delay response so that the time requirement is expired for returns. They promise to respond in a specific number of days which is a big lie.

"RMA went much better! The hard drive was replaced in a timely mannner and works great!"
