(shipping though was reasonably good and CPU looks new).
So far the only thing I succeeded in was getting a RMA #.
Customer service is unreachable. Will send it back and see what it will bring me.
Will keep anyone who is interested posted. ****@****
Don't think will ever do business with them again no matter what the outcome will be
mostly because of these reviews.

"I bought a Bare Bones system (Athlon XP 1700+). Great price! After waiting a day I decided to check the status. It said to call them, so I did. They said the credit card I used didnt say they could ship to where I work, and I needed to add my work address to the credit card. So I did and the system shipped a couple days later. Shipping took a while(5-6 days), but eventually made it to my house...yup - my house, even though I sent it to my work. That kind of worried me but I was still happy to have it. I slapped a HD and all the stuff I needed and fired it up. Works awsome. So if you have alot of time, but not alot of money - go here."

"I ordered a mobo combo (ECS K75SA w/ Athlon XP 1800) from EconoPc on Friday, March 28th after seeing their advertised price on PriceWatch. The EconoPc customer service rep, Amin, was helpful and diligent to ensure that my order was taken properly, and from my order number he explained how I could track my order online from the EconoPc website. I received my order yesterday, April 3rd, and it was delivered in fine shape. Sor far these components work as expected. I will definitely place future orders with this vendor. "
"I ordered a motherboard/CPU combo from EconoPC over the phone and it arrived exactly as promised. The salesperson was very friendly and helpful and even checked to insure the item was in stock for me. The CPU works great but the motherboard does not want to work for me. I called their customer service number and spoke with the tech support person who was very friendly, understanding and professional. I received an RMA number after I described what was wrong. Overall a great experience from this company. I will buy from them in the future. Just wanted to update and say I am pleased with EconoPc's service and people. I received my new motherboard and it works great. "
"I ordered a motherboard, CPU combo and after installing it and not having anything happen on my monitor i took the whole pc over to a friend who has been working on pc's for about 10 yrs. He took the cpu out and put it into a friends pc and again a blank screen. I called and received a RMA #, returned the part and waited about a week before calling them to see if they had sent out a replacement. I was told they did not have it yet. I then had to call mail boxes etc to verify the rma was put on the outside of the box although i was not told to do that and found they had recieved the pkg the very nest day after i mailed it. When i did finally recieve the new cpu it was the old one. To my surprise it was the same one and i was told they checked it out and it was fine. I knew it was the same because of the compound that adheres the chip had some overflow on it. I can't give you specific names of the parts of it because i'm sorta new at this pc geek stuff. Well i went ahead and put it in and this time after i started up the thing
i saw a puff of smoke. Well as i was wrapping it up to send back, i tried to take the cpu apart from the motherboard and it was stuck.
Now the same guy i have talked to b4 is telling me i will have to pay a restocking fee for this junk they sent me. This is my first venting place but i intend to find other forums and maybe the BBB as well. Thanks for listening. Janrenee"
"Well, I ordered a barebones system from econopc on March 1st. A couple days later I ran across this site and became very wary and thought about cancelling my account. However, I decided to stick it through. I'm very happy with the system, however I have a couple of complaints. 1) I ordered it on 3/1/02. I didn't receive it until 3/13/02. 2) $40 for shipping? According to ups.com it costs $8.17. 3) They never update their site....it is now the day after I received it, and their site still says my order is 'In Process'. 4. I tried for 2 days straight to get through to their customer service line...got nothing but either busy signals or 'Our customer service is currently closed, please try back...' blah blah blah. Bottom line: great prices, very horrid customer service."
