"I placed an order on October 1 of 2023. It was almost $1,000 order. It shipped out on October 4th. After that it disappeared I have not done any help from them on hearing that when it will ship or if I'll ever get it. They also had a nerve to say they were not going to refund my money and I would have to pay for restocking. I bought many times from them and now this is just terrible service. I have emailed them multiple times and even discuss with them on the phone and they leave me no options just to wait. Ridiculous"

"They absolutely screwed me over. The generator I bought was supposed to be delivered 12/8. It was then moved to 12/9. It never showed up, but records showed it was at a carrier facility 20 miles away. It wasn’t delivered the next day. Or the next. Finally I called the morning of 12/12 telling them to please deliver by end of day 12/13 because I was going out of town on 12/14. They said they couldn’t, but would store it for me till I got back in town. The Electric Generators contacted me stating that it was being returned to them and would refund my money, but keep $600 for shipping charges. They claimed I refused the delivery. I highly advise never doing business with them."

"Their wesbsite said a generator I wanted was in stock. So I purchased it. They gladly took my $5,000 but then they updated the order to say it wouldn't ship for a month and a half. Just got another email saying it wouldn't ship for 2 more weeks. Don't trust these guys, they are liars."

"Ordered a transfer switch from them when recieved it some of the parts was not in package it was a Reliance product. Called generator direct twice and never got nowhere to get the parts. Called Reliance got good service and parts within a couple of days. Yeah Reliance BOO generator direct."

"I ordered a generator from this company via affirm and I was not satisfied with what I received and when it came time to return it, they not only lied about the shipping cost twice, ( as they initially told me 300, then 600, and once they refunded the loan to affirm it was 758.00) but they took it upon themselves to add another 158.00 to the 600.00 they told me I had to pay........as the manager confirmed the 600.00 after I was told this by at least 3 other reps. When it was time for the pickup I scheduled my day around the pickup window only to receive a call the day of delivery from the person that scheduled the appointment claiming that it would be 2 days later. Not only did she tell me that, but she went as far as to try to not take blame for giving wrong information and trying to coerce me to agree that no appointment was ever scheduled. I couldn't believe my ears!! She must have forgotten in an instant about the mind game that she was playing, because in the very next sentence she then tells me that they (electric generators direct) cancelled the appointment (and felt that they din't need to give me a heads up). I mean, who even wants to communicate with individuals as such?! But nevertheless it is welcomed and encouraged by those that supervise the very workers that you have to deal with as nothing changes, regardless of who you speak to. It's like you're paying your money to patronize a company that has no regard (neither professional respect) for the customer and the fact that the customer is trusting (on a professional level) their judgement and all that they say as experienced representatives. I waited 10 hours at my storage for their delivery source to pickup the generator. I'm not sure why they didn't receive a ticket as the entire block and radius of the neighborhood was filled with black smoke (from their truck) after they turned their vehicle on to leave. You can always tell the quality of service (aka professional experience) that you're receiving by who and what is involved in the scenario /situation!"

"I live in Nassau County, NY (Long Island) and was charged a $50 “remote delivery fee.” When I questioned the charge and asked to be credited $50, I was told the delivery driver would need to pay a toll over a bridge. Are you kidding me? Why not charge $50 shipping and be honest with this misleading charge.....kinda shady if you ask me."

"We bought a generator from them last year, and it sat in our shop for about a month as the job we were using it on wasn't scheduled until then. When we went to use it we found that all of the parts it had come with (including the cold weather start kit) were for a totally different generator. They would not work with this one. We immediately tried to get in touch with the salesman we had bought it from but he was completely unresponsive. We tried calling customer service, also to no avail. Finally we got in touch with Cummins directly and purchased the correct parts from them. We then went back to Electric Generators Direct to return the incorrect parts but because the job had stretched on so long (due to confusion from incorrect parts being sent) it was far past their return time of 30 days. Mind you, we hadn't even been made aware of what parts were sent within 30 days. We went back and forth with them by email and on the phone but they refused to rectify the situation. Our hands were tied on the timing, and there was nothing we could do. We have spent thousands and thousands of dollars with this company (never an issue before this order) and were in a position to give them a lot of business in the future. When you have customers, you should take care of them. You make exceptions to policies when it makes sense to, such as extending the return time when it's due to your own screw-up. They did nothing of the sort. They refused to take back $600 worth of parts THAT THEY SELL and in so doing have lost a very good, long-time customer."

"I ordered a generator pad from this company and never received my order. They blamed it on their shipping company SIA and they blamed it on their sub contractor. Needless to say it is 3 weeks and I still haven't received it. When I called EGD the woman told me I couldn't cancel and my credit card would still be charged. I finally got someone with brains and cancelled my order. DO NOT USE THIS SCAM COMPANY!"

"Took my order and then refunded it without a word the next day on a new Honda eu2000i companion he was selling. I had a feeling at $639 this was a fake generator supplier and I suspected when I asked if it was a cheap Asian clone and not really a Honda that must of made Simon run. He did say in was a real Honda, but then quickly refunded my PayPal.

"I would not recommend buying a large and heavy item from this company. Their "free" freight actually means that the freight company will drop what you bought in the street in front of your house. To get the item brought onto your property you are on your own with what may be a 450 lb. or heavier generator. The freight company wanted an additional $700 to use a flatbed trailer and to bring a forklift as their "residential delivery" service trucks do not have a power pallet jack or anything else to move the load off the street.

Better to buy from a local authorized Generac dealer that can deal with all the problems of getting the generator brought to your house and placed on the spot where it will be installed
