"I bought an expensive from these people in November and they apparently shipped it November 25th. In spite of over a dozen phone calls and emails they still have not given me any relevant information or refunded me my money. I am now taking this up with the local DCI. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY WITH THESE PEOPLE, YOU WILL LOSE IT."

Scam artists with a broken router

"I recently bought a Linksys WRT3200ACM router and it constantly shuts down by itself whenever I used Chromecast on the Wi-Fi network. It works fine when connected to my PC via LAN cable, but additional devices connected to the network via Wi-FI would cause a mysterious issue where the router shuts down by itself.

Support is painfully slow, even though I paid $30 for the Silver subscription service. I accidentally cancelled it because I didn't want to renew the subscription, but I still paid $30 for it, and support is still so slow, each response taking 4-6 hours.

I wasted $350 on this piece of junk. Buyers beware.

FR Privacy App doesn't work and FR doesn't offer any support with a paid support plan.

"Flashrouters doesn't offer any support of any kind unless you pay them. In my case, I correctly installed FR Privacy App on my own flashed dd-wrt router via the instructions on their website and Nord VPN's website. It didn't work. I contacted support per the instructions and they told me they would not answer my question unless I paid for a support plan. I told them they should make that clear on the website that their instructions don't work and that you must pay to use their software. They gave me the brush off. Simply put: Most companies support their software, free or not. FlashRouters does not and wastes everyone's time by not making that clear."

Helped Flash Old Router

"I had a router that I wanted to upgrade with better firmware so I could use it easily with my VPN. I found FlashRouters and they updated my router for me over the internet, which was awesome because I was worried I would have to ship it to them. They remotely logged in to my computer and set up my VPN connection onto the router too so that I could use it with my TV/firestick. "

Helpful when needed.

I had to give 2 stars because....

"I would have given 5 stars for the technical support we recieved because it solved our issue, but I gave 2 stars because:

1) I ordered the router, custom, for my location overseas and it came to us not setup for the specified location.

2) we spent 60 days trying to make it work, following all of the instructions given by FlashRouters and none of them would work because it was never set up for the country we were in.

3) we were forced to spend $60 additional on support that had it been properly set up as we ordered it, we would never had to spend.

4) I actually believe we are owed a $60 credit for the service I had to subscribe to in order to have a working router.

So in conclusion, I'm not happy to have had to spend money to make it work when it should have been set up for the correct country and use. I am happy that the support was able to make it work remotely. Hence 2 stars. Very frustrating scenario for us.

Cool new high speed router solution

"I got the new Roqos VPN device from FlashRouters since my network kept getting hacked. The sales team helped point me to this new product with extra alerts and settings to monitory my network and help block DDOS attacks. The Intel processor has given me faster OpenVPN speeds than my old Netgear router. Andy from the sales team was great. "

I would look elsewhere...

"I would suggest looking elsewhere if you are considering FlashRouters. I have a US-based job and moved to South America for a while, so I paid $300 for a flashed router to be sent to me. (They pre-flashed it with NordVPN) The setup gave me a little difficulty, given the very complex setup/home page for your service. I then experienced CRIPPLINGLY slow internet speeds - as in, going from over 100Mbps to 1Mbps. When I reached out to Customer Service, this was the answer I was given:
"First, I must clarify that speed loss is always going to occur when connecting to VPN and this is not avoidable.

Second, speed test results while connected to VPN are never going to be accurate. A speed test measures the rate at which a data packet travels from one server to another, however when you are connecting to VPN the data packets travel to an extra server where they are encrypted and then sent back into the route. This means that the measure of the speed test can not be accurate. Given this I recommend simply using the router as intended without getting to caught up in speed tests."

The entire reason for my purchase, and indeed what they market themselves as being USED for , is to use a VPN on the router. What a terrible response from the company. I cannot stress enough how disappointed I am to have wasted money with them.

Waste of money

"Don't waste your money. Prices well beyond market for the routers, ours not only didn't work on desired sites but the internet ran much worse with it on. Express VPN worked on sites this didn't work on. Now I'm out restocking and shipping fees just to try it for an hour"

They sell “Recertified” routers, without original box

"They sold Netgear R6700 which worked more slowly than the same router purchased on Amazon. Their router showed maximum speed of 350 Mb, however my old device gives me 950 Mb. Later, I saw a small string in their email - “Recertified” router. Also, they do not return 100% refund. I had to pay $25 “refund fee” and pay for shipping cost. Never recommend this buyer."

They don’t care about their customers , don’t buy

"I want my money back, I never got the flash router but you keep telling me it was delivered, it was not, now all my emails you’re just blowing off. I am making a formal complaint to your corporate offices and to your Attorney aGeneral’s office, you’re not keeping my money for a purchase I never received. Then on top of it, don’t even try to send a replacement. I am sorry I used your company."

Waste of Time and Money - Steer Clear

"What a waste of time and money. I have NORDVPN and they referred me to Flashrouters. I purchased their product and it probably is a good product but who knows because Flashrouters service is HORRENDOUS. The router came in a box with one generic sheet of paper that did not explain clearly how to set up the router. I also purchased a 'support plan'. When I attempted to use the support plan it was a total fiasco. There is NO phone number, only email. I received nothing but a series of 'bot' replies that did not address my issues. I was told to make an appointment for tech support and the earliest appointment was in mid February - almost a month away. Totally unreasonable. I finally called the sales department and requested a call back. I got nothing but 'sorries' and excuses. I ended up shipping the router back at my own expense and canceling the 'non' support plan. NORDVPN should be ashamed at referring customers to this company and not work with them. I could get better service at Best Buy with less aggravation. Steer clear of this company, they obviously don't have the staff or knowledge to deal with customers."
