"After reading so many bad reviews, I still decided to give it a try, since I didn't plan to buy anything expensive nor cam-related from them (I bought a cat drinking fountain pump replace --- not sure why they sells it, but they do). The online order process and shipping went quite smoothly, packaging was also adequate.

"I ordered a Sony Nex-5 Silver on 12/17/10, the Camera arrived on Thursday 12/23. I left for vacation. I called the Focus Camera and told them that I did not need the camera any more since I ordered the camera too late. So they gave me an RMA# and I shipped it back to them; it took 3.5 weeks to get my money back. I would give them a 5-STAR if the refund were faster; but 4-STAR is definitely for this online store integrity and services."
"This is the worst company to ever deal with. I bought a camera for a gift. The website says it ships within a few days. I placed the order and got a confirmation e-mail right away. I never heard from them again for over 10 days!! I e-mailed them and they said it's out of stock and they canceled the order. Funny though that the item is IN STOCK on their website for more money for the entire time I was waiting for it to ship. They are a bunch of scammers. Avoid at all cost. Any potential savings would not be worth it to deal with these people. Shop with a reputable company and you'll actually get your item and save a lot of hassle."
"I ordered an item that said it would ship in 1-2 days. After a week, I contacted the seller via email and received no repoonse. 3 days after that, I contacted buy.com and shortly thereafter, the seller emailed me back and said the item has shipped. They did give me a tracking number which when submitted, wasn't in the system. By the next day, when entered, it had finally shipped. So now, nearly 2 1/2 weeks after ordering, I'm waiting on delivery. It took contacting buy.com to get any info back from seller."

"STAY AWAY FROM COMPANY!!!! Bought camera at a discount price ($100 off camera). Item was listed as in stock, never received camera (waited 5 days). I called Focuscamera and was told camera was on back order. I stated that's fine I would wait for back order because I purchased accessories for this particular camera. I specifically asked them not to cancel order. 10 minutes after I talked to customer service my order was canceled. They listed the price wrong on site and instead of honoring their mistake or even making it right by telling me the truth and giving me a discount they gave me the run-a-round. "Whatever I saved going with Digital Foto (and it wasn't much) was not worth it. Eight (8) days after placing the order and Digital Foto taking my money they finally shipped the product. Next time I'll go with a company that truly understands company service and will ship within 2 business days. "
"Potential Fraud Alert
Ordered and promptly received an item from focuscamera (via buy.com marketplace).
Then 8 days later I received a fraudulent walmart.com mail order charge on my credit card. Thankfully, my issuer sent me a fraud alert and within an hour we had my old account number shut down.
Although not conclusive that the fraud was related to my focuscamera purchase, this card is rarely used so it's highly likely."
"Took 2 weeks to ship order. I called customer service twice. The first time I was told that the item had been out of stock and had just been shipped but no tracking number was available yet. 7 days later called customer service again and was told the delay was because it was a Jewish company and there had been a lot of holidays but the item was on its way. When I got the tracking number it had only been shipped the day before fully 6 days after the first customer service rep had said it was shipped. Never received an email saying there would be such a delay. There are plenty of good companies out there to put up with this. Will never use them again."

I ordered a Canon 430EX ii flash through buy.com who sold it via their marketplace seller digitalfotoclub.com. The order was never fullfilled. Payment was made via paypal to buy.com the same day the order was placed. After 5 business days the order was still being"processed". I sent an e mail to the buy.com marketplace seller "digitalfotoclub.com" requesting an update. There was no response so I sent a message to buy.com who eventually responded to say that they had contacted digitalfotoclub.com requesting they address my concern. No response was received after waiting another business day. I finally contacted digitalfotoclub,com via their customer service number and was told the product was backordered and they wanted to cancel my order. I talked to a supervisor who offered a $10 buy.com voucher by way of an apology. This is not what I wanted, I simply wanted the product I had ordered and paid for and was willing to wait. They cancelled it anyway.
I am presently hoping they will eventually provide a 100% refund! They can forget the $10 voucher, I will never place an order with buy.com again.
I suspect the digitalfotoclub.com pricing was possibly just a mistake and they made excuses to cancel the order rather than simply telling me it was a pricing error.
Whatever their motive was, it cost me over a week of waiting to find out that my order would be cancelled and they have held onto my money for over a week so far.
***Update: 04-14-2010***
I was contacted via e mail late in the day 04-13-10 by a representative from buy.com who was anxious to resolve my issue with the cancelled order. He offered to make it up to me by arranging to re-order the item at the same low price originally offered by digtalfotoclub.com. I was impressed that buy.com responded so fast and with an offer to correct the problem at significant cost to themselves.
They followed through with the offer by issuing a gift certificate to cover the additional cost to purchase the item from a different marketplace seller. I have since placed the order with adorama,com via buy.com and expect this to resolve the issue entirely. Barring any unexpected problem, I should receive the item in a few days.
Given these new circumstances, I will certainly consider buy.com for purchases in the future. However, digitalfotoclub.com will not be considered for any future purchases."
"What a waste of my time. I ordered an item from them online, and a week later I received the wrong item. When I first contacted them, I got no reply. When I contacted them again, they said they were out of the original item and sent a “replacement” item instead, and they had sent me an email explaining so. First of all they never sent such an email. Secondly, who would want a “replacement” item without being asked first? When I tried to return the replacement item, they wanted me to pay for shipping. Then when I refused they said they would issue me a full refund, but they only sent half. It wasn’t until I complained again that they sent the full refund. In the end I got my money back, but it took 6 emails and nearly 2 months. Clearly this company will nickel and dime you every chance they get. Not worth the trouble. I give them one star for finally giving me my full refund. "
"I ordered from this store on Ebay because they are a Sony authorized store. The listing sounded great and I waited a little while to think it over. I later purchased the item. The next day when I called to check on the order they said they had to cancel my order due to a mistake on their listing. I asked to speak to a manager and the salesperson said they wouldn't help me. Now it's 3 days later and the money I saved for this camera is still tied up in Paypal/my bank and I can't re-order anything because of that. Now I'm without my camera that I sold for the money to buy the new camera and no camera on order coming anytime soon. I think they could have easily worked with me even if it wasn't the same exact order but they refused to let me talk to a manager. I guess it's a lesson learned, don't buy from Focus Camera!"
"WORST COMPANY YET! DO NOT ORDER from these people! Placed order 12-16. Order arrived 8 days later and was totally WRONG item. Invoice shows correct item. They refused to make it right and told me they would send me a UPS call tag-I STILL HAVE NOT RECEIVED IT. They also said THEY DID NOT TRUST THE CUSTOMER so I would have to send the item back first before they would mail out the correct item. Their disclaimer clearly says "we'll do whatever it takes to fix the situation" DON'T BELIEVE THEM! My call to customer NO SERVICE was one of the worst in my life. I was on hold for a LONG time, the first girl was rude and the so called supervisor was even worse - all he could do was offer LAME suggestions that were ludicrous. STAY AWAY!!! "
