"I placed an order for a camcorder with this company after some research that showed that they had an acceptable rating. Their price for the camera was not the lowest but the combination of rating and price was good enough to entice me to order.
I place the order at about 11AM on the 18th of July and got an immediate conformation. Then nothing. On the 21st at about 4PM I got an email for me to call for order conformation. I called.
They could not find my order and this went on for over 15 minutes.
They finally found the order and then tried to sell me some additional items which I turned down. At the end the representative gave me a total on the price and it was $150 more than the price that I had been confirmed. When I ask him about the difference, he said the camera I ordered was for outside of the United States and the camera for the United States was the higher price.
I just cancelled the order. "
"I researched the Olympus p400 photo printer for a couple of weeks. I found it to be about $30-$40 cheaper at FOTOCONNECTION. I order the printer on-line and select ground shipping ($19.99) because I don't need the printer right away. I get an email to call "Mark Gables, ***-***-**** Ext. 221" to confirm my web-order. The first time I attempt to call, the answering system picks up and I leave a message stating my name, order number and reason for calling. "Mark" calls my home the next morning and my husband speaks with him. Mark will not talk to my husband and wishes only to deal with me. So, while at work, I take the time to call back, only to be placed on hold for more than 10 mins. I hang up (because I'm attempting to work) and call back in about 20 mins. I get put on hold again for about 3-5 more mins when "Mark" gets on the line and asks about my order. He wanted to confirm my address and product request. I ask him why he didn't let my husband answer those questions and he said that I was the one who placed the order, so I had to confirm it. I told him he could have done this via email... Anyway, he proceeds to ask me if I'd like to buy a photo cartridge and/or photo paper. I ask the price and he quotes me prices that are comparable to the other internet sites I'd researched, so I said, "Sure, one of each." (Now I am pretty sure why I had to call, to get pressured in buying accessories...) Then he proceeds to explain the Olympus warranty, price of everything, what's not covered by it and how buying a 3-year extended warranty is necessary. (I'm now feeling like I'm buying a used car) He speaks quickly and with an accent, so he's hard to understand and he interrupts constantly. He says it's $169! NO. "Okay, how about for $119?" NO. "Okay, would you buy it for $99?" NO. "Okay...(dramatic pause and typing noises) I'll just ring your total (more typing) I can't believe you're not buying the warranty for $99...."
He goes on to tell me that the shipping is going to be a little more because the printer weighs like 10 pounds... I'm on hold. When he gets back, he begins to give me a total when I interrupt and ask about the shipping price. He says, "$70." WHAT?!?! I argue & he puts me on hold. He gets back on and drops it to $50, I tell him to cancel the order. He stammers and schneggels and puts me on hold AGAIN. Finally says "Would you buy the package for $500 even..." He breaks down all the items and the shipping ends up at $25. I agree, but I told him that although he makes a very good "used car salesman", the company exercises very bad sales practices. (Integrity issues)
I've seen the money come out of my checking... Let's see how long it takes these clowns to ship me my items. I will write again after I receive the product. I WILL NOT BE SHOPPING WITH THESE JOKERS AGAIN. I AM ALSO A MILITARY MEMBER AND WILL MAKE SURE TO PASS THIS AROUND THE ENTIRE MILITARY COMMUNITY TO PREVENT OTHERS FROM DEALING WITH THIS. I WILL BE REPORTING THIS TRANSACTION TO THE NY STATE BBB, whom I'm sure is already bogged down with a bazillion complains from others about this "company". They hurt all internet businesses by taking advantage of good, honest and trusting people. SHAME ON YOU, FOTOCONNECTION."
""My overall experience with FotoConnection.com was outstanding. I ordered the Canon Mini-DV Camcorder. Very professional and knowledgable sales staff expededited my order. I highly recommend this vendor/website.""
"I ordered Fuji Finepix S2 pro camera based on advertised price. I paid by vredit card, got confirmation e-mail and was waiting for my order. Then I received e-mail telling I need to call and talk to a salesperson. He tried to sell me accessories I didn't need. When I made this clear he told me that the price advertised on their web site is for non-USA version. The USA version is $200 higher. Cheap scam artists. I cancelled my order and my advise would be - save your time, do not bother order from these dishonest people."
"I am very much satisfied the way FotoConnection handled my order . Not any single problem. Delivery is always earlier than expected. Product is always as described. I will deal again with this store if I have the chance."
