"First experience with them was good. Second was terrible. Sent an iMac and I checked out everything, but optical drive before I shipped. I had never had a problem with optical drive, but I did not double check before shipping. Everything else worked. When that received the computer they emailed, that the optical drive did not work and made a lower offer. I responded that I was surprised the optical drive didm't work, but never refused their offer. They have a policy that unless you refuse the offer in three days they will take that as an acceptance. During this time the only response I got was an automated message saying they would respond in 2-3 days. Then I get an email that they are returning the computer. I agin tried to contact them and say I would take their offer, but a week later the computer arrives. However the keyboard is missing a shift key and the iMac is damaged and will not boot at all. I can see cracks at the top where it looks like someone tried to access the inside of the computer and cracked the case. I have called and emailed, but no one has responded. Will not use them again."

"This company would appear to be a great resource or alternative to high priced computers. Gainsaver refurbishes old computers and supposed to Apple specifications. Within 5 months the hard drive failed. I have purchased referbed computers in the past and never had any issues. I guess I am naive to think a company stands behind their work.

When calling to try and come up with a solution I received nothing but the run around. Each representative stated I needed to talk to “Steve”.

Finally spoke to Steve and would not let me get a word in. All Steve was concerned with was it was out of warranty. When asking how we can come to an agreement, he stated I can appreciate that and hung up.

Lesson learned this time, if you want quality you have to pay for it. There are no shortcuts and if it seems too good to be true, it probably is.

"Gain Saver is was a life saver for me. I purchased two mac batteries for well below the retail price. They both worked great and allowed me to get a couple of Macs I had up and running. I would definitely consider them for future purchases!"

"Was seduced by their website and believed their hype about re-selling quality used Macs. Unfortunately the two macs they sent me were complete garbage. I spent $240 on a used G5 after their website said it was "tested" and would work. I spent $40 extra just for one year's insurance. Well the model they sent me DID NOT WORK. I am not a novice when it comes to Macs, having had them for over 20 years. I tried every technique in the book to get this machine to work. Sent it back -- after paying $33 for UPS Ground. They sent another one, assuring me that this would work. Well it didn't. The hard drive in this machine was partially smashed and the cables that connect to the hard drive were filled up with gunk. Clearly no human actually took the time to inspect the machine before they sent it. This is complete dishonesty. Luckily they did give me a partial refund. I will never order from these people again."

"I have been a customer of Gainsaver for several years now and have bought several MacBooks, iMacs, Mac Minis and accessories as the IT Mgr for a local newspaper and my own video production company - I've been an Apple trained and certified Systems Engineer and Service Technician since 1984. Nearly every item I have purchased from Gainsaver has been exactly as described with just two exceptions and those were handled quickly and satisfactorily by Customer Service. I would suggest that you at least order the Diagnostics option for $25 - it is worth it to be sure you get exactly what you want in excellent condition. As for Gainsavers pricing... nobody beats it - I am an avid shopper and Gainsaver easily beats all competition including eBay in that regard.
