"I purchased a 5900XT video card. It was defective when I received it. I sent it back after testing it in several different systems just to make sure. I requested an exchange for the same item. I called 3 weeks later when I still had not heard anything, only to find out that they had sent it to the manufacturer for repair since the item had been discontinued. I was told that this was my only option; they would not exchange it for a different type of card, not would they refund my money. They also stated that they had no idea how long it would take to get the card back, during which time I would have to go without a card, and therefore without a working computer. I got tired of waiting and finally purchased an inexpensive 5500OC from Best Buy. This card works great, BTW. I finally heard back from GameVE after another 4 weeks, informing me that the card could not be repaired and that I would have $140 toward the purchase of a new card. The original one cost $172! I am still attempting to get my money back.
I wil never, never, never purchase from this company again, and I will tell everyone about my experience.

Regarding the response:
I NEVER received contact from you regarding the status of my return. All contact that was made was me calling you. I purchased the card at the end of October. I received my new computer 2 weeks later and called you as soon as I was aware that it did not work. Your people told me to try it in at least 2 other computers to see if theproblem could be my new computer. I did that, which took a little time to find 2 computers to test it in. It did not work. I requested my RMA towards the end of November and sent it back immediately. You have had the card since then. I replied IMMEDIATELY after receiving the email that the card could not be fixed, requesting a refund of my purchase price. A refund of $140 has been issued, which is completely unacceptable.
Oh, and in the manner of your responses to other customers: Can you not count? I purchased the card just over 2 months ago, not four. And you have had it over half that time.

"Have bought from this company before with no problems a couple years ago. Recently ordered a video card from them, card was back ordered for a week. I didn't check to see if it was in stock or not, so can't complain about it. After exactly 1 week, sent an email inquiring how much longer it would be backstocked, got a reply the next day. Before the reply, from checking my account status from their page, I seen that the order was going through. Based on past experience and reply time to email, I would still recommend this company to others. Again, the whole back order thing was negligence on my part. Little "iffy" though if it actually takes 1 week to restock on item."

"The first sign of a problem was that when I called their 1-800 number, I couldn't reach any of their employees. I called on different days at different times during their office hours. I decided to order anyways because of their good reviews.

I ordered a "XFX GeFORCE 6800GT 256MB DDR3 W/DOOM3 RETAIL", item number VC-XFX-025 on 12/27/04. It was "In stock: Usually ships within 1-2 business days." I used their "rush" ordering, which had to be ordered by noon and charged by 12:30. I ordered at 11:44am and my order didn't get charged until 24 hours later(I ordered from Newegg right after Gameve and that "rush" order shipped the same day.)

The status changed to "Order Shipped" at 4:44pm the day after I ordered and I got an e-mail confirming the status. The note said "Your XFX order will ship out from XFX warehouse by UPS 3 days. thanks - 92568." Since it said "Shipped" in big red lettering in my e-mail, I assumed all was alright, but I never got a tracking number.

It is now 1/4/05 and I still haven't gotten the item so I e-mailed about the item and got the response: "Your will get the tracking number shortly" That sounded like a bullcrap response so I called them for the 6th time and FINALLY got an answer. The guy said the item was backordered and that it won't ship until Thurs/Fri.

I wouldn't have known it was backordered if I didn't call them. Plus the item title and description (same item number) doesn't say anything about Doom3 so I will probably end up getting screwed when I they send me the card w/out Doom3.

I called them again and this time a woman answered the phone, she was very informative and cleared up all the confusion. She said that the Fedex warehouse gave them bad info on the stock. She also said that Gameve will ship the Doom3 seperately to those who ordered it. I need the card by Friday so I decided to replace my order with a similarly priced MSI 6800GT (no Doom3) which shipped the next day and took 2 days to get to me. It was in good condition.

"I didnt want to do this but they have left me no choice.
I ordered from them on 12/29/04 on the 1/3/05
I contacted SEVERAL times via e-mail NOTHING !
I have been trying to call them since 10.30am
and have given up at 6:30 pm The only time today I have taken a break was to use the bathroom and check
my e-mail . I HAVE called my CC company the Better
Business beurea and thier local Chamber of Commerce.
They all said to give them another day to respond .
All I can say to anyone thinking of buying from
Gameve.com is :
1.) check the complaints against them at the BBB
2.) Before you buy just try to give them a call
3.) Before you buy just try to e-mail them with a
simple question
I WILL GUARANTEE YOU WILL NOT GET ANY RESPONCE AT ALL .
SO IM ASKING, NO BEGGING YOU PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF
YOUR GOD DO NO BUY FROM THEM !!!!!!!!!
This is absolutley the worst experiance I have EVER had with a vender.
P.S. Gameve if your reading this DO THE RIGHT THING cause I can go anywhere in the U.S. with
Greyhound for 59.00 or less and you can bet I will
be come your way $300.00 may not seem much to you
but when you take it from hard working people it will one day come back and bite you in the @ss !!!!!!
UPDATE: Well I think if you were going to be closed till 4th It would have been nice to see it
posted either on your website or on your automated
e-mail! preferrably the website

"Our experience with this merchant was a complete failure and in short I was i never bought anything from them. I have copies of everything from the product page I ordered from, to the sales receipt to the delivery receipt, and in no way did any of it inform me in advance that the MOBO ( part of a mobo combo I ordered ) was on Back Order. Non of it.

Now and after the sale they have updated their site to say it is on Back Order. So I have a chip and no board.

To make things worst for them ( we will be suing them ) is the fact that we actually paid extra money for the order to be expedited.

So they took to the extra money to expedite the order and did not fulfill thiner obligation, nor did they ever contact me in any way to let me know about the MOBO.

I have tried about 20 times to reach them by phone and it is completely transparent that they only provide the number for customer service - they don't answer it.

In short, we will be suing this company for the disposition they have inflicted on our corporation, as well as theft by credit card and deceptive trade.

Any consumer would do well to avoid them like the plague.

"Purchased the Poseidon WCL-03 among other parts for new computer. It was backordered (no big deal I guess, even though very annoying - nothing about it being out of stock)

It shows up a few days later, and the box was an obvious return, it was unsealed, not repacked properly to fit.

Well, I sent it off to my CPU builder anyway with the note that it's an obvious return. He opens the box and notes 2 clips broken, coils banged, and water low. Fearing a leak, he puts it on a test bench and starts it up for a couple days testing. Seems OK, but when he came back later noticed that it doesn't pump. An air bubble in system not moving.

So, not only a return, but an obviously banged up return simply reshipped to the next sucker (me). I paid for a NEW product, not a return.

Now, I have a computer sitting on a bench waiting for a cpu cooler, and paid to have a cooler diagnosed as defective. Thanks gameve for wasting my time and money.

We'll see what they say in the morning when they open, I'm asking for overnighting a brand new (not used/returned) to my builder (at no charge to me) and send a postage paid return with the product for return.

Let's see if the company can make ammends for fraud.

Avoid this company. Read all the negative comments and skip the overall rating.

UPDATE: After over a month, nothing. I finally got ahold of Christine, who said I must complete RMA through my invoice. When I got to my invoice, RMA had been disabled on it. Sweet. So, I tried calling back. They asked my name, and I went into permanent hold. Time and again, IF I get through, straight to hold. 5 hour hold one time, no reply.

So, I e-mail every address I can find on their site. none bounced, none replied to me, even admin and webmaster.

Another review on their site indicates another purchaser with an obviously opened and damaged water cooler.

Again, I say beware. If you have no problems, great. If you have problems, you're screwed. Avoid this company like the plague. ! ! ! ! !

Newest update: I did get a replacement for this product. Guess what. It was an opened box, and the pump doesn't pump. I also had to get a motherboard replaced that was bad. It was an opened box.

I give up on these people, they are just too much. I guess except for this review, they win. I'm not even going to bother any more. They win, have my money, and hopefully you don't make the same mistake.

Don't walk, don't run from them. Transport up to the star ship Enterprise and get out at warp 10.

"I ordered my card and got some weird answers from this place like.

The other problem I had it calling them, it’s near impossible. When you pres 0 to get in touch with someone it comes back saying it’s busy and you get nowhere, left a few messages on the phone without any callback. GameVE must be a small company with about 4 employees.

None the less I ordered the card on the 27 and it seems to have shipped late on the 29th or early on the 30th which is decent turn around time. Not sure I would show here again the whole ordeal made me uncomfortable, but no one else had the 6800gt so I paid more and went here rather then getting the BFG I wanted for 400 at chumbo.


I picked up my card early and all is well I must have overreacted, my only concern is the customer serice I like peace of mind being able to talk to someone on the phone, they really need a better phone system setup. The packaging was good and the card works so im happy :)
