"Will not order from this company again. Manf. will not warranty products sold from this company. GameVe will not ship to a confirmed business address, only billing address of CC holder. They are slightly rude and dishonest."
"I was happy with the speed in which I received my video card, but it wasn't the easiest purchase I've ever made. First, my order was declined because I had a different shipping address from my billing address. I'm trying to get this part in a hurry and they wait until the next day to tell me that they don't ship to different shipping addresses. Sure it says that somewhere within the ordering process, but if you're like anyone else in the world, you just don't see things like that amidst all the advertisements and fine print they throw at you during the ordering process. You'd think it would be easy enough to throw up a warning DURING the ordering process instead of AFTER the order is completed stating that the delivery address is not the same as the billing address.
Secondly, what's the deal with the $3.99 rush charge? I paid over $20 for overnight delivery and you want me to pay you $4 to make sure you guys do your job on time? I looked for the explanation on the "Rush Charge" but there were no adequate explanations as to why I should fork over 4 dollars more. Is seemed dumb and unnecessary.
On a good note though, the product did get here despite all the delays. It was just frustrating worrying about whether or not my video card was going to get here on time or not. I work all day and was completely unable to get a hold of anybody regarding my purchase once I got home. In fact I left a couple of messages that have never been returned even now after the video card arrived.
You guys seem to do business adequately enough, but you need a little more work on making it easier on your customers to shop with you."
"They shipped to me fast and the video card that I got was new and in excellent condition. They emailed me the tracking number and everything went well. I will shop with them again."
"Great product, fast and free shipping! Will order again from."
"I purchased a motherboard at the advertised price and received it within 3 days. Very fast service!!! Will consider them again the next time I am shopping for computer components."
"Well, I’m another bummed out BFG 5900 purchaser, BUT I am not dissatisfied with Gameve OR BFG. I ordered two cards from these guys on the advice of a friend of mine whom I trust—he’s used Gameve many times and loves them. I build 10 – 20 computers/year and have lots of Internet buying experience. When I received the cards, I put them in my son’s machines and could not get them to work even after flashing the MoBo BIOS, updating the AGP & Miniport drivers and using the newest NVIDIA drivers available. I tried both cards in my own machine (after taking my Sapphire 9800 Pro out of an Intel 865PERL MoBo) and both cards didn’t work correctly no matter how I tried to configure them. On card left bit turds all over the screen on XOR operations and the other had terrible vertical banding. I called BFG and they were VERY polite and helpful and finally told me both cards seemed defective (what are the odds on that?) I called Gameve and talked to John. He was very patient and did explain they were having problems with the boards and he also explained some people were trying to overclock them and then returning them when they burned up. I assured him I didn’t overclock either card (do you really believe another 5 fps is really worth it anyway?) and asked him to take them back and give me a refund towards the purchase of different cards since I didn’t trust the 5900 card after receiving two bad ones. (I bought two more of the Sapphire 9800 Pros from Gameve because I know they work.) He agreed to give me a refund me without a restocking fee since I purchased the replacement cards from them and I agreed to pay them back the $7 to $8 free shipping for the original cards. (That is only fair…)
All in all, I clearly don’t see a Gameve conspiracy here and John was extremely polite and explained his side of the issue very well. They are very reasonable and easily as good as any other Internet vendor I’ve dealt with. There is clearly something screwy with the BFG 5900 card IMHO, since I don’t see a similar thread on other products and Gameve’s rating is uniformly quite high. I don’t want to question other people’s experience, but it just doesn’t wash with me that these guys are taking cards out of the box, overclocking them and trying to sell them as 5950’s. That’s a stupid assertion since it takes too much effort to do so and only a couple returns would push them into the red on the venture. I also want to defend BFG for two reasons, they have always had quality products in the past and really good prices. I will definitely purchase from them again. Second, they have very efficient and helpful support and didn’t try to convince me I had screwed up. They came right out and admitted the cards were bad and told me to return them. I don’t trust this particular card (maybe it was just a bad batch sent to Gameve), but BFG and Gameve are both standup vendors in my mind and John at Gameve was great guy who went the extra mile to discuss the problem and come to a resolution.
One last comment: Everyone who has posted here buys on the Internet at greatly reduced prices and needs to understand the business model of the companies selling the merchandise. Don’t forget these merchants operate on razor-thin margins and can’t afford to provide the service level you’d get from Best Buy or Circuit City (accepting all returns sight unseen, etc.) In Gameve’s case, if you are honest and patient with them, they don’t seem to have any problem reciprocating.

"I WOULD NEVER BUY HERE AGAIN AND AM CONSIDERING SENDING INFORMATION ON POTENTIALLY SUSPECT BUSINESS PRACTICES TO APPROPRIATE AUTHORITIES.
I ordered a BFG FX5900 video card.
When I receved it there was no shrink wrap on the box, and it generated errors on the boot screen.
GameVE when I called GameVE they were not stocking this product anymore, but also refused a refund, without charging me "15% Restocking"... even though it was defective.
I subsequently found out that people are claiming that they have been just receiveing defective cards, and sending them back out to the next customer, charging 15% plus shipping each time.
There are tons of people on line who have reported this issue with GameVE. They basically are being accused of FRAUD.
Just take a look at the uproar on the Anandtech.com video forum.....
One guy even said he got the exact same card back after RMAing the first one he received.
When I called, they have none in stock, a customer service rep said that they are not ordering any more from BFGTech, the 15% plus $6 restocking fee would absolutely be enforced if I wanted a refund, and I should just try and get a new one from the manufacturer.
What is to stop them from just recycling a bunch of RMA'd items, sending them back out each time they receve them, charging 15% to the poor dupe that they knowingly sent a problem part to, and then just doing it again to someone else when they receive it back
(I bet 15% is better than their regular margin, and if you were to do it several times for one card, you could make way more).
They ought to be in jail.
DO NOT BUY FROM THEM!"
"Very fast shipping response. And the web site is very easy to use."
"Good deals, free shipping! I would definately buy from these guys again! Thanks GameVE.com!"
"great service. had exactly what i needed in stock and shipped to me the 2nd day :)"

"Purchased P4P800.. Everything was fine, EXCEPT THE MANUAL AND CD WAS MISSING. I don't care about CD since it's just piece of junk anyway, but not the manual. It was pain in the axx to look up pdf file from Asus website everytime. When I called them about missing manual, they told me they will send me one, but they never did."
"WARNING!!!
I Purchased a BFG Tech FX 5900 from this merchant. When I received the product, it was not shrink wrapped and had obviously been used. I called GAMEVE to discuss this with them before even installing the card. They were very evasive and said, most of our product isn't shrink wrapped.
Well I installed the card and low and behold it doesn't work. The FX5900 card should POST the video BIOS when the machine is turned on. It does not, then the screen fills with vertical lines. I contacted BFG Tech's Technical Support. They asked where I purchased the card and then gathered some more information. As always BFG Tech was very professional, but indicated that this has been a problem with GAMEVE.COM and unfortunately I will need to send the card back to them, that they are unable to perform warranty swaps for purchases from GAMEVE as they have received numerous calls from their customers for bad cards.
When a vendor that stands behind their product as solidly has BFG Tech won't trade out a card because it came from a specific merchant, there clearly is a problem.
As I said earlier, GAMEVE was very evasive and flat out lied when I spoke with them. It turns out, as I suspected, that the Asylum cards in retail packaging are all shrink wrapped from the factory. That was also the third question they asked me, "Was this shrink wrap on this card from GAMEVE tampered with?"
They further recommended that I return the card to the merchant and order another one somewhere else.
----Update:
To Lawrence's (GAMEVE GM) credit, he did contact me the day of my review to discuss. He has offered to refund the entire price of the card on an RMA.
I told him that he should have a conversation with BFG because they had thrown him under the bus when I talked with them the morning of the 6th.
I contacted BFG later the same day and they had a whole different story. (The new story closely mirrors the BFG comments posted here -- 2/6/04 2:39 PM) Which is what I would have expected on my first call. However for BFG to state that they have never made such a claim is untrue. However they did offer on my second call to RMA the card.
All in all I am still disgusted with the entire transaction, but Lawrence did contact me immediately. At the same time I didn't feel like he was being completely honest with me either. Perhaps that is due to the negative feelings this transaction has caused.
BFG on the other hand has still not responded to an email I sent to sales, support, and marketing @bfg as to why they would have made such a claim."
"A very pleasant shopping experience on their website. The order process was simple and the order status and tracking information was great. Fast shipping and excellent prices. Because customers sometimes forget to say when something is done "right", I wanted to make sure I did."
"Thanks for a great deal.........................................."
