"Ordered online Radion 9700 Pro on 5/14/3. Asked that I be billed 5/15/3. Called 5/16/3 to confirm that order would be sent that day and to bump up shipping from 2 day to next day Fed Ex. They confirmed that it would be bumped up to next day so I would receive on 5/19/3 and would ship out on 5/16/3 at my expense. Oh happy me. They didn't ship it until 5/19/3 and they did it second day.
I am angry that they dropped the ball and finishing my new system will have to wait another two days. I will now receive my order on 5/21/3 IF Fed Ex is on time. "The first Radeon 9700 Non Pro did not work, nor did the second one I had exchanged, (in both instances I was sent a Pro version) I sent it back requesting a refund, they then respond back that they cannot exchange it with the manufacturuer as there is not a serial number on the back of the card. This is not my fault as the card didn't ship with a serial number. I placed a call to the RMA department, was put on hold for 5 minutes, and was asked to have a call placed back 15 minutes later. Well, 15 minutes came and went, and when I looked at the time, it was AFTER they had closed for business that day. NOT GOOD! I then placed 3 calls, and on the 3rd one I got though, someone picked up but did not answer, I could hear background noise, I said hello a few times and then was hung up on. All I want is my money back for a twice defective product for which I did not receive the actual merchandise paid for. I have left Voice Mails on one of the users answering machine that the automated system picked up on, I will be calling back tomorrow first thing and I will not be very happy to deal with.
Update= Talked to John @ GameVE after talking to someone in the RMA department who never returned my calls. He states that there may be an instance where the serial number did not ship with the card. I agreed with him in this instance that if there was no serial, it was because I didnt get it. So he suggested that he ship the card back to the manufactuer for verification that it is their card, if they say yes, then my refund will be processed. This is perfectly fine with me, as long as the manufacturer certifies the card as theirs.
The only hesitation I have is that I ordered one from Sapphire, and yet, the person I talked to previously told me the card that was sent came from Power Color, so in at least one instance of this ordeal I was shipped a card from the wrong maker, and as listed above, sent Pro versions instead of the Non Pro, and in both cases, neither worked properly. I simply want my refund, as I in good faith returned my product according to their posted procedure. After checking their site No where does it say that the serial number is a requirement of return. But as I stated, if there wasnt a serial on the card, it was because I never got it. I should have an update in 1 week on the status. "
"This was my first purchase with gameve.com. I ordered a "built by" ATi Radeon 9700pro with 2.8ns memory(samsung) for $302, but was sent a cheaper version with 3.3ns memory that was on sale for $258.
I was informed on the phone that all RMA are sent out by 3 day air (does this even exist? what is the point with 3 day ground shipping IN the same country), however my tracking number showed 5 buisness days by fedex saver to get to me. Thankfully, it came a day earlier at 4 days.
I did receive the correct card this time around, but now they gave me the wrong software cd(3rd party sapphire). I don't really care as I just use the cat's from ATi anyway, but they managed to bungle a $300 order twice in a row?
The money I saved on tax buying from gameve.com I mostly spent to send the card back to them (I understand having to pay shipping if an item is defective, like driving back to a store...however this item was not defective. The wrong item was sent by gameve.com, not the company who makes the card...this would be an unusual sight to see at a real store(ie it wouldn't happen)). About 20 days total I had to wait for this card when for extra tax I could have had it at best buy or another chain. This was not a promising first purchase and I am not sure if I will make another at gameve.com. newegg and svc have been good to me so far.
