"I have an older gazebo. The canopy had a well-fitted central wind vent and 10" double valances with side curtains that made it look like a spa. Still in excellent shape. Cost a lot from a specialty store originally. Original canopy lasted 7 years. My first replacement, ordered through another big box store, lasted 3 years before the canvas tore. Now, after 10 years, I was lucky to find a place that still made the style of canopy I needed. This time I placed my order for a replacement canopy from Garden Winds through the Costco website . I chose the "better" (expensive) quality material because I hoped it would last longer. The ordering process was easy, and the speed of service was excellent. I was so excited to get it just 4 days after ordering. Unfortunately, "rip-stop" does not mean waterproof. First recommendation I saw before I even opened the bag, was "It is highly recommended that you treat the canopy with Scotchgard". That should have warned me off, but I went ahead, treated it with 2 cans of Scotchgard, and put it up.
Problems:
1. The grommet holes for the corner finials are too small - I bet manufacturing knew that but didn't care - there is no way anyone would think that a finial post would be 1/4 inch in diameter. I will have to modify with larger grommets it to make it work. I can do that.
2. The centre vent cover is at least 6" too big in each direction. I will have to modify it to make it work. Okay, I am willing to do that.
3. The biggest disappointment: the side valances are so meagrely sized that they do not cover the tops of the side curtains. Besides that, the binding sewn along the edge of the valance is not lying flat and as a result the whole thing now buckles and looks cheap. I will have to modify it by sewing on the old valances from the torn canopy I had kept to make it look decent. This is a big job, and it scares me. Why am I doing this when I should just send it back???
Unfortunately, my husband had thrown out the box and the shipping papers, so I can't return it, which by the way, would cost me $50. handling plus the shipping fee back to California. So what I really should have done is thrown out the whole perfectly good metal frame and bought a new gazebo. Consumerism at its worst."

"The canopy fits just about perfect, 2 of the Velcro tabs weren't aligned quite right. On the horizontal side of the swing. The padding on the seat pad could use a little more fill. You can feel the front support bar on the leg area when you are sitting on the swing. Looks good seems of good quality, time will tell."
