"After 10 months of owning a Rode mic for my DV camera, it stopped working. Jeff Garret in service not only contacted the distributor, he was a real bulldog in being sure that I got a replacement mic. The distributor wasn't that excited about replacing it, but he stayed on it and I got a brand new mic within days of warranty expiration. Good stuff, Jeff! Thank you so much!"

"The Russound SDB-2.1 dual source 2 pair speaker selector is a high quality and very efficiently, with impedance-matching speaker controls. The sound from each set of speakers is A-1 quality. There is no let down with this unit. It is a very solid constructed piece of equipment that fit well with my system and made to give many years of use. This is the one that will make a difference if you want to add another pair of speakers to your system."

"My order was for several input sensors into an MSC-400 master controller. The MSC is used for automating AV racks, so it isn't a common item, and the sensors for it tend to be hard to find and overpriced. I spent quite a bit of time searching for the sensors, comparing prices and stores, and generally finding the right place to buy them.

I was very happy to run across Garrett's Smart Electronics. Not only were all of the sensors available, but the prices were very fair.

When I went to place the order, they were having a technical problem with the shipping calculator, and the charge came out about fifteen times higher than it was supposed to be. When I saw this and abandoned the cart, Jeff was kind enough to send me an email explaining the problem.

I placed the order with the corrected shipping charge, and paid via Paypal. It was drop shipped to me from a warehouse in my state, so it took only two days to arrive by UPS ground. My order was well-packed, and arrived in perfect condition.

One of the best things about the experience happened when I had a few follow-on questions. All it took was a simple email, and I had an answer back from Jeff in minutes, even at night and on the weekend. It is very rare to see this kind of responsiveness to email, and that alone will bring me back when I need more sensors or other electronics.

Highly recommended.

"I found Polk Audio TC60i speakers at Garretts for a pair (with shipping) was $272.61 and it was easily the best price I could find online. I completed the purchase online and the next day was called by someone at the company verifying my address, which was slight different than my billing address since I had recently moved. That first good impression! Ten days later I contacted the company via the "tracking" on their website. They did not respond after 2 days so I emailed them and received a response the same evening. The response consisted of my address, a UPS store reference and at UPS tracking number. I copied the tracking number, plugged it in at UPS.com and the result was that only an air bill had been created but no shipment had been received by UPS. I contacted the company through the previous email and said that UPS had not received any shipment. The response came quickly and said for me to call Vicky at a number that was provided with the previous email. Okay, take a deep breath.... That is a ridiculous response! I waited two more days (cause of a busy schedule) and checked UPS.com again. Surprise, NO CHANGE. I sent an email asking that they cancel the order and respond back to confirm. At this point, I have just sent the email so if there are any new updates, I will be sure to come back and update my review. BEWARE GARRETT's Smart Electronics!!!!"

"I purchased an ELK Single phone line surge protector. It was shipped promptly and in good working condition. After almost one year later the device failed. I contacted Garrett's and was immediately put in touch with the manufacturer. They sent me a new unit (no questions asked) to replace the failed unit.

"After initiating payment for an order on June 18th, I was contacted by the business in question on June 23rd and notified that my order was in the process of being shipped. Being rather busy myself, I decided to give it time to ship though it became noticeably late. On July 12th I finally found the time to email the company regarding the status of my order and got a response two days later stating that an email had supposedly been sent an email on June 24th which stated that a difference in payment was necessary due to a supposed increase in dealer price (an email that apparently never made it to my inbox for what reason I am currently unclear).

In return, I sent a message stating that I would be willing to pay the difference only if they would honor their final price alteration. In reponse, I received an immediate demand for payment via PayPal two days later instead of any mutual agreement. Though I was unable to immediately reply, I did find a piece of parcel on my doorstep just the other day. Perplexed, I opened the package to find the item ordered and expecting payment difference, so I just sent it. However, I afterwards found upon closer inspection that the item was either a previous return or refurbishment.

To be frank, I'm first appalled that a company would be so unenplicably brash as to expect compliance with an internal pricing error. A respectable business would understand enough of business economics to know better to request or demand payment in such an instance in the first place. Second is the brazenness of sending a so-called "dealer-obtained" item that obviously wasn't. Needless to really say, I intend to contact the proper authorities regarding this case.

"Ordered the Video Rode Mic on June 20th at $138.42, assuming their responses to this site was good enough reason to give it a shot. A month later (on a Saturday), I e-mail asking where my mic is. The response is that Rode raised the price (Which, if you're stocked shouldn't matter. But we all know Rode made no new price hikes.) to 149.99, and that I could either buy it at that price, or get a refund.

I've decided threatening a report to the BBB unless the originally listed price is honored.

Seller refuses to honor listed price, and canceled the order. I will be filing a complaint at the BBB, and updating this when I am refunded.

Their support on the weekends is phenomenal. It's interesting that they can't contact me to inform me that the price mysteriously changed on the mic, but as soon as they're able to bait and scam me, the e-mails are almost instant.

"EXCELLENT SHOP
I was looking for Russound speakers and did a lot of research on prices and store reviews. I found Garrett's Smart Electronics to be very competitive and having good reviews all around. I placed an order in January, and after prompt and good communication from them, I received my speakers a short time later. Shipping charges are very reasonable and the sales staff is very helpful. I will always check with them first when I want to purchase any items in the future, and I would not hesitate to recommend them to friends & family when they ask me for advise on "Smart Electronics".

"I did a lot of research and found garrett-smarthome to have the best prices on the web. More importantly, there personal attention to customer service is a lot better than dealing with larger outfits. I received update emails from the same service representative and he was always very prompt to provide updates. To date I have placed several orders and have been extremely satisfied.
