GearXS' Mystery Box item contained 2 weeks worth of frustration for me

"After receiving an email ad which linked to GearXS, I clicked, visited and placed an $89.00 order of 10 various items. This was an impulse buy as I knew nothing of the company. Their website states, "General shipping information - In-stock orders normally ship within 1-3 business days unless otherwise noted on the product page." None of my items were 'otherwise noted', including a Mystery Box (this was $29.99 and is guaranteed to contain at least that much in product, however, you don't know what you will receive). The Mystery Box seemed like a fun item, but only caused problems. This promotion was still active for a few days following my initial order and held up shipping on all of the other items. This probably would have been ok with me had I known up front, but I only found out after several email inquiry's and phone calls to GearXS with conflicting information received each time. Sometimes they said they were going to send a split shipment with non-Mystery Box items first and the Mystery Box to follow after the promotion. Then they said they were going to ship everything within 24 hours. 2 weeks later I was no closer to having a tracking number for anything so I elected to cancel my order. A Customer Service Manager emailed me an apology with a $5.00 offer of store credit for my inconvenience. NOTE - I have yet to receive my $89.00 refund from them (although I do trust that this will happen). The Customer Service people I spoke with each time genuinely seemed like good people, not like they were part of an online scam to steal everyone's money. With this in mind, I emailed the CSM back with details of my GearXS order in hopes that they might use it to fix existing problems (mainly stemming from the Mystery Box promotion when mixed with other purchased items). However, I have not received a reply from that CSM which leads me to believe they may not care. Overall, this was a frustrating experience from an impulse buy; I can only blame myself. Interestingly, I did a little research on GearXS afterwards and found their Facebook Mission statement was not at all reflective of my experience. Good luck to other shoppers -

Product was good however.....

"It took GearXS more than a week to ship and I think the only reason it shipped was that I had to send an email to start the shipping chain of reaction. Minus the shipping snafu, I would have given 5 stars. I had read previous buyer experiences and this was my main concern. I decided to order anyway expecting this would happen."

Without fail, the orders arrive within a week or two, and the quality is very good for the price. Whether I am buying ahead for stocking stuffers or sending small care packages of gadgets and necessities to my kids at school, I have done well ordering from gearxs.
