"I was not happy at all, please see the correspondence and draw your own conclusions:

Hi Shane,

We have received your return and I wanted to advise you that the MFJ-945E not being returned with the original box/packaging and the cord having been cut will require us to sell it as a used item therefore there will be a $32.99 restocking fee. The MFJ-1312 will have a $2.24 restocking fee. Your total refund amount would be $89.67.

Please advise if you would like us to proceed with the refund or if you would like the products to be returned to you.

Dear GigaParts
In my haste to return the item within the ten days I forgot the box! Sorry. If you like I will send it separate. The cord was included in the shipment. I never even unpacked it from the box. I believe I paid for that item separately. The cord you refer to was the power supply cord to the unit for a power supply. I did trim the ends after I tested it with my unit. It would be just fine for anyone else to re trim them for new installation. Please advise me on the box issue, sorry about that. 10 days is a pretty tight turnaround. as to the $ Restocking fees.........I guess do what you feel is right. If its a matter of the box, I will go to the trouble and expense of returning it if you want. I simply forgot to put it in the shipping box. I will however never buy another product from GigaParts if GigaParts charges me the restocking fee. I will also notify Paypal and let them know how I feel. I buy a great deal of product. I'm sure Paypal can verify that. This is one of two purchases I have made from GigaParts. There are many other companies online where I can shop. DX Engineering for example. I understand GigaParts has policy and procedure, but come on. Is it worth losing future business? Please inform me of your decision.

Still have not heard back, unlikely I will buy any other products here. I will notify PayPal and dispute the charges if they hit me with a restock.

I have contacted MFJ and they have kindly agreed to provide us with a new box and a new power cord for the power supply. Without their assistance the item would have had to be sold as used. Our customers expect a product to be in new condition when we ship their purchase, and rightly so. If it is less than new they expect a discounted product and a restocking fee allows us to discount the open box or altered product.

We are pleased, that in this situation, we have been able to find a resolution to be able to give you a refund without the restocking fee.

Our goal is to give you the best price that we can. And if/when you have a problem to have an option available to be able to take back an unwanted product.

We appreciate your business. Your refund will be processed today. It generally takes a few days or so to show up on your financial statement.

"Item showed in stock when ordered. It took gigaparts over a week to let me know part was out of stock and none of my items would ship for approx 4 weeks until that item was in stock . I canceled that item. And rest of parts shipped 3 days later. Got out of stock item from another retailer in two days"

I am very sorry that we failed in notifying you, in a timely manner, of the back ordered item on your order. We have since made an improvement in our website that you will now be notified immediately when an item is low stock and may delay your order. We try to notify customers of back orders quickly. Due to the recent dock strike our vendors have had difficulty getting inventory to us which has caused us to have more customers to notify than usual. I will not use this as an excuse, but do feel I owe you an explanation.

"Having received my order today, I am happy to say I am satisfied with both the quality, value and service from GigaParts.
Although a small miscommunication early in the process caused some confusion further down the chain, steps were taken to address my concerns and I felt my issue mattered to them.
I'm more than satisfied with both the price and the quality of my radio and accessories, I would not hesitate to order from them again, and I would recommend them to anyone ...if for no other reason than the excellent customer service alone.

"After about a week I inquired a out order status onty to find out that although the item ordered was not currently in stock due to back order to April , I really hoped I would have been informed almost immediately of the status instead of having to pursue an inquiry"

"I am building a ham shack. Last one was made back in the day of the dinosaur. But, back then you could find inventory locally. Not these days. GigaParts makes it possible to find gear that is not so easy to find off the shelf at a fair price and in a timely fashion."
