"I had a simply wonderful time in New Zealand. Go Ahead Tour director Brad Elliott and our bus driver Mel were very informative and gave us insight into the Kiwi psyche. The mountains, waterfalls, the unspoiled scenery, the Tasman Sea, glow worm caves, Maori people and culture, steam vents, the Franz-Joseph glacier, the sheep, cows and deer were just a few of amazing sights, that I enjoyed. We had a smaller group because we were outside the main tourist season which made everything even better, kids were back in school and no long lines anywhere we went. Temperature was mid 60's, when we still had snow in Wisconsin. Loved it!!! I opted for the extra stay in Fiji, temperature was in the high eighties. The Sofitel Resort in Nadi was first class. Our tour director, Dan Vakadranu was a life saver. We had arranged our own flights to go down under and back, and when we were in Fiji our return flight was cancelled. Dan made sure we ended up leaving the same times as the others. I'm thinking of Go Ahead Tours for a trip to Portugal next!!

The countries we visited and the particular hotels were first class. Our tour guide went above the call of duty and he steered us to many exciting venues. "Great experience! Pro: Good hotels, great guide, superb breakfasts, marvelous sights, good cultural experience. Cons: Monotonous food, not bad, but rice and vegetables daily...buffet food on boat was better. Skip kung fu option and go for acrobat show instead . Too many factory stops with over eager sales girls and overpriced merchandise. Would prefer more street markets. Surprised that most of staff at these international hotels spoke very limited English. You can explore on your free time but don't expect to ask any questions. Still, overall trip was very rewarding!

"I have been on 3 GO Ahead tours in the past 6 years, and all have been a unique experience. I have learned that to get my bearings in a foreign country, I need to get there a few days before the tour starts, and rest, and explore on my own. I have learned the #3 in a room seems to be the key to getting larger rooms, often on top floors with great views. Two out of three guides were very well informed and "talkers", with vast knowledge of the areas we were in. Both of those guides personally lived in that country most of their lives. The third, although informative, was tired and very ready to retire. She told us that she lived on a different continent most of the year, and was doing this for extra retirement $. She was great at disappearing at opportune times. I think this was the exception, from what I gathered from others on tour. The one thing I really like about Go Ahead, is that it attracts people of all ages and walks of life. I have traveled with my adult children, my husband, and even a cousin or two. The pricing is fairly reasonable. Some tour guides go out of their way to show you their country with pride, and take you to little known areas off the tour. Small eateries, and pubs, that only the locals know. I learned how to take public transportation without the fear that I would get lost. That is what traveling is about to me. I don't just want to be another tourist on a bus. I want to see, taste, and feel part of the place I'm visiting. I have found that at Go Ahead. The only thing I think I would change is that about half way through a tour, I need some down time to breathe. To have 2 free days to rest in the middle, and not feel you are missing something on a side tour, would be wonderful. Especially if it is in a quaint town that is very walkable. Thanks Go Ahead! "The first four trips with Go Ahead were excellent. Great sights , Tour Guide, group members, food, and total experience.On the fifth trip, during the first half of the tour the Tour Guide gave very little information about the passing sights from the bus. At some sites very little time was spent. In Spain the hotel cancelled and we were relocated with a long waite to check in.
This was our 5th trip with Go Ahead and was rated the lowest. Over all we have been satisfied and will continue with Go Ahead."
