"My last two tours with GOAHEAD were TO Spain, most recently in October of 2013. I've traveled to Europe a total of ten times with EF or GOAHEAD, the first in 1989. Over time the accomodations have become better. Recent hotel locations were good-ya gotta expect to walk alot on tour. My last two tour guides were excellent(Thanks Carmen & Leonor). The included meals were very good. All in all I have no complaints. Attitude is important. One shouldn't expect gourmand meals or to travel between locations at the speed of light. I consider an average tour of say, 12 days to be a teaser. One cannot begin to experience all possibilities at a location in only a few days. No matter to me, the return trips have always been better than the first.
Important: Study and plan your tour well beforehand. Consider all realistic possibilities, their times, costs($'s and time), and locations. Time there is precious. GOAHEAD optionals will only account for a portion of your day, free time is yours to do as you choose. An 11"x17" color copy of a city map will fold in half and fit neatly into a protective plastic cover. Circle your possibilities. Plan the most efficient routes to fun."

"We had a great experience with Go Ahead's Grand Tour of Italy. The leader was excellent, the tour was intense -- lots of walking each day, but very interesting and fun. My only complaint was that the restaurants the cater to tour groups were sometimes redundant. Some were excellent, but some very ho-hum, and at one point we had pizza 3 meals in a row! However with only about 18 or 20 people on the tour we all became friends and had a great time together."
