Another Bucket Item Spectacularly Checked Off

"Well exceeded all expectations! This was a short trip, with the primary goal being to chase the elusive Aurora. So, I was a little concerned whether I'd see enough of Iceland to do it justice. Answer is a resounding "Yes" - earned after seeing spectacular waterfalls, surprising geysers, noble Icelandic horses, steam pots and hot lava baths, floating icebergs drifting out to sea, and yes, the Aurora, not one but three different sightings! Our guide Truisty was perfect - a well educated, multi lingual, well traveled native whose pride in his country is palpable. His determination to make it a fantastic trip for each of us was evident, and successful! Hotel and included meals were all well selected and wonderful. Thank you, Go Ahead! "

Texans see New England Fall Foliage October 2019

"Very well planned and very enjoyable. I hesitate to say what was my favorite part of the trip or what was my favorite site that we visited because I throughly loved it all. Experienced lots of the quaintness of New England and the beautiful fall foliage. Our tour guide Alan was excellent and was very knowledgeable about the area. In addition to the planned itinerary, he added a few destinations when the weather was not cooperating. I appreciate his flexibility and his effort to make our trip great and memorable. I will definitely book another tour with Go Ahead Tours."

An experience to remember.

"This was our second Go Ahead Tour. We were so happy with our first experience with them that we knew it would be fun. We went to London/Normandy/Paris. Even though the weather wasn't the best, we all had a great time. Lexi, our guide kept this group of turtles moving along and getting to each destination safely, fully informed and found the best spots for dining. When other guides took over at Windsor Castle (Matlin) San Malo (Coco) and Versailles (Pavel) they were each excellent and educated us with amazing stories about each site. The hotels were comfortable, easy to navigate to and from for the "free day" times. We were blessed with a fun group of fellow travelers (16 total) who made the trip so much fun. We gave Lexi a nice send off as this was her last trip for the year. We'd do another tour with Go Ahead, and recommend it to friends. "

Not nearly as good as many previous trips with GoAhead

"Disappointed with travel arrangements. Travel from Santorini to Crete was air travel by way of Athens resulting in a lost day. Six hour round trip bus travel on optional trip to Delphi, and post card site was excluded, Return trip to US was long with extended delay in Paris. Trip to Oia village was to experience the unique cave houses. Experienced on our own. Never taken on a tour or explanation of the houses. Included meals were sub-par, except for last meal in Athens.
Taking optional tours in Athens did not allow for time to experience the city and museums.
Disappointed, disappointed, disappointed with this trip. And disappointed that the trip did not meet the high standards of six previous with GoAhead.

Some beautiful sites

"Overall great tour. Some of the breakfast were simply not good. Tour director was one of our best ever. Two many longer days and early mornings but still s good tour. Again some of the hotels were just ok with bad food and some hotels were great. "

Wine and Dine

"Everything was excellent until we ran into the social unrest in Santiago. One of the reasons we had signed up for the trip was the cooking diner, and the tour and wine tasting in Valparaiso, Chile. Go-Ahead tours refunded the cost of the Santiago cooking dinner, the Valpariso Winery, and the City of Valparaiso. But, in my opinion that was not enough compensation for what we were looking forward to on signing up for this trip. I feel that Go-Ahead Tours should grant us a credit on another trip with Go-Ahead. This would be a win/win situation.

Tour guide not the best

"Tour director overslept when we were going to dinner as a group. Had to call her room after 30 minutes & wake her up. She would not get the manager to turn down the music in the restaurant that she recommended so we could hear each other talk. Did not put up info in the hotel or on cruise like other directors of other groups did so we had to ask each other what was going on"

"From the online registration to the shuttle ride to the airport on the last day of the tour. All aspects of our magnificent experience , et al were uniquely planned and meticulously executed. I would do it all over again."

Scottish Shenanigans

"The itin is very nice on this tour and the hotels very very well located. But best of all was our tour director Matt B who made the entire thing so much more wonderful! He was so full of information about the entire experience of growing up in the UK and about Scottish history and everything that we could want to know. He was so kind to everyone and took care of every single detail. Also my Go Ahead ladies Hannah and Kate helped me so much to arrange everything for this tour ahead of time and answer all 32 of my traveler's questions. It was a really nice tour and I think all my group enjoyed it very much and I KNOW they really did like Matt very much which makes all the difference!

Critique

"The best part of trip was our tour guide. Oda was knowledgeable, dependable, compassionate and always went the extra mile to make our travel excellent.
Disappointed that luggage wasn’t always picked up in the morning as usual however we saw other Go Ahead tours have their luggage picked up outside their hotel room doors.
We were told we could claim our tax refund at airport. Milan has no one at their location.!we tried in Boston MA & was told they didn’t do it.
The last hotel in Cuomo was too far out from center of town.
The seating on Luthansa was terrible and air conditioning on return flight not working in our row and one more. Will never fly Economy again for an 8 hour flight. My son had a blood clot in his leg and we were unable to get him a seat upgrade.

A diminished appreciation

"The hotels were very good especially the hotel breakfasts in all 3 cities that we visited. The travel guides were excellent/knowlegeable. Viewing the great monument's, catherals & museum's was like going to a great restaurant but only passing through and not enjoying the experience. The delay of luggage was also not a pleasant experience after so many hours of traveling. The people handling our tour preparing us to go were very friendly, helpful and stayed in touch from the beginning until we were set to go. Our tour guide was also excellent throughtout our trip. Always available, informative, very organized and helpful to answer questions. We met very nice people which added to our trip.
