"the tour was great the places were excellent it was one of the best yet, the tour director was the best."
"It was facinating to see the country of Iceland with all of its wide open spaces, multiple bodies of water, huge volcanic mountains and magnificent waterfalls. It is very sparsely populated. It is rich in geothermal water sources which provide heat for the homes that are there. It was interesting to see all the varieties of sheep grazing alongside the highways and also the Iceland horses. Part of the time we had some difficulty seeing the sights because of rain fall but that did not stop us from trying. The other people on the tour were a joy to be with and our tour director provided us with some facts about life in Iceland. Dressing in layers was the right advice. We never did use their currency because we could not get it before leaving the US but there was no problem using our credit cards for all purchases both great and small. It is quite expensive there. Our hotel accomodations were lovely. I would like to see all meals provided for like some tour groups do. I always felt safe when we had free time and were given lots of choices on how to spend our free time. "
"We had a very positive experience. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and a lot of fun. Never traveled so we are looking forward to traveling more with go ahead tours."
"While I loved all I saw and experienced on the tour, there were issues from the beginning; 1) EF GoAhead couldn't book our flights to guarantee the 5 of us would fly together. We booked our own flights where we all flew in side by side seating and it was much less expensive. 2) Chris Wilke was very knowledgeable and loved what he shared with us, although he gave us contradictory information at times and talked way too much. 3) Mandela, our first bus driver was top notch and always felt safe with him. Our second driver drove like a maniac, wasn't very friendly, and I feared for my life at times when he was driving. I have pictures to back this up. 3) I would have loved less time on the bus and more time experiencing the region. 4) At the end we were given feedback sheets that had our names on them and none of us felt comfortable giving our true feelings about the trip. 4). Our last tour guide turned out to be a guy not listed on our itinerary and hewas not very knowledgeable, left at our hotel at nights, and often gave conflicting information about the following days itinerary 5). I was put in the very furtherest room from the restaurant/lobby and there were many wild animals roaming the property at night. I complained the next day to the hotel but they were not able to move me. I felt terrified going back to my room after dinner each night. However I did love being able to see hippo's, elephants, warthogs each night from my room.
I love to travel and have been all over the world and plan on traveling much more. I will not use EF GoAhead tours again. It was not a great experience with the company at all. Traveling in Africa was phenomenal."
"From the moment we landed in Nairobi, we were well taken care and the friendly service and attention to detail was fantastic. The safari experience was way beyond what we expected. We saw so many animals that elephants became common place. The guides and tour agents were smart, thoughtful and diligent. I would go again."
"It was the most amazing experience ever. It was a lifelong long dream and exceeded my wildest expectations. The guides were great - very fun and so knowledgeable. The culture is fascinating, and the Keyans & Tanzanians are genuine, friendly, and truly happy from all I could see. Great hotels I would add, and we were pampered to an embarrassing degree! HIGHLY recommended "
"Did the Walking tour of the Amalfi Coast with 5 family members. Francesco was the best tour guide. Kept us organized, made himself available for assistance and always made us laugh. We did all the available excursions and loved them all!! Yes there is time to do all of them as they do not overlap. The Path of Gods is a must but do yourself a favor and do not do this if you are not at least at an average fitness level. It holds back the group and ours went at a decent pace. The views are breathtaking and it is well worth it. The Farmhouse dinner is a must. Most beautiful, serene setting and the people that work there are so friendly. The food and wine was fabulous. Mozzarella farm lunch was also good but my least favorite. Food is amazing but you do see buffalo being milked and in captivity and even though they are treated humanely it may bother Vegans or those that feel against this type of thing. Go to the Isle of Capri! Unbelievable experience and worth the rough seas we encountered on the boat trip to see the caves. (Take Dramamine and thank me later). The walking tours were all so good. Very hot and uncomfortable at Pastium ruins but amazing to take in all that history. Walking tour in Villages in Sorrento was probably my most favorite. Tour guides were all top notch. Mt. Vesuvius was also wonderful. Can’t believe we got to walk up and see the crater, then got to experience Pompei after. As for the hotels, the hotel in Sorrento is not good. Great location but bare minimum rooms and bathrooms were terrible and cramped. Pool area was pretty but pool needed a deep cleaning and an update. Hotel in Minori was much better and the town is so quaint and we had the best time walking around and eating at the local restaurant....twice. Hotel in Napoli was by far the best hotel so it was sad that we weren’t there longer than one night. Bus rides along the coast are nail biting and white knuckle at times but wow.....just wow. This was by far one of my favorite places to visit. Positano, Amalfi, Sorrento, Minori...you have my heart and I will be back. Wish I had more time to just walk around Sorrento and look in all the little shops down every little alley. Just remember LOTS of walking on this tour. It is the ONLY way to experience this magical place. My rings on my Apple Watch were closed every day and boy were we exhausted at times but it’s so beautiful and so so worth it."
"We are "seasoned" GoAhead travelers .. our 7th trip - and once again, GoAhead did not disappoint us in any way .. we loved every minute of our experience .. the views we saw were stunning .. we had wonderful weather, a lively/fun group and once again an AMAZING tour director .. we're already planning our next trip .. WE LOVE GO AHEAD !! "
"wonderful--just needed more sleep, once and a while. Should have researched times we could have obtained laundry services, or planned a different wardrobe. Aside from these issues--loved everything else."
"If you have ever thought about traveling to Greece and are not into the cruise ship scene, you MUST take this trip. The scenery is so beautiful, our weather was perfect and the FOOD.....the best in the world in my opinion. Our hotels were absolutely lovely and the people we travelled with seemed like old friends although they were all new to us. Best of all was "Emmie" our guide, who was an American turned Greek and had a true love and knowledge of the country which she shared with us every day. The pace of our trip was "active" but not exhausting, there was a good variety of things planned for us to do and some free time, too. We learned so much history and mythology, tried plenty of new foods and learned about the Greek culture and some of the language. Remember to pack light (it really doesn't matter what you wear...just have good walking shoes!), be on time for the meeting places and open your eyes and heart to a memorable experience!"
"Awesome! Tour director, David Macchi, was fabulous and gave us lots of great info. Loved our bus driver, Ermano, as well. "
"History, mythology, great weather, and even better food and drink.
Non-stop activity both exploring and shopping followed up by great local foods and wines. My favorite was Mykonos, my wife’s was Santorini. Did I mention delightful dining experiences with locally produced meat and veggies. Thoroughly invigorating for all of the five senses. "
"First trip to England, had a great experience. Tour guide (Ali) was very knowledgeable and helpful. Only draw back to trip was overnight flight, arriving at 930am and not able to check into hotel until 2pm."
"This was our fifth trip with GoAhead, so we obviously enjoy traveling with them. However, this was definitely our favorite. From traveling up high mountains, down deep into salt mines, viewing castles and palaces, and visiting old town centers, this trip had something for everyone. It was interesting, educational, and fun. The people on our trip were great, and our tour guide, Juergen, was fantastic. Definitely, the best trip ever!"
"This was a great trip with great people & great tour director. Thank you Goahead & Sebastian!!!"
