The model we received was the one we purchased but was not what we requested. The box says in big letters, Made in China. The blades are not metal but plastic. Ran into a bump when the remote that we also purchased with our new fan would not fit the housing, so we called Hansen CS with questions of the remote not fitting inside tight space housing. "Marnie VanDeusen has been less than helpful in getting a defective fan replaced under warranty. My ceiling fan runs constantly at full speed and will not cycle through the lower settings, nor will it shut off. I turned off the breaker to the fan so my electric bill would not go through the roof as I am retired and on a fixed income. The technical support that I got from Monte Carlo in Shokie IL. was outstanding (Sean). He assessed my fan problem over the phone (it is a capacitor and switch) that is not customer serviceable. He instructed me to call Hansen (who sold me the fan for $364) to get a replacement as I have the fan for less than 6 months. I called and spoke to Marnie who sent me an email instructing me to take pictures of the labels on the fan and send to her before she would process my replacement fan. I could not find on the specific labels that she wanted on either the fan body or blades). I unscrewed the lower housing to expose wires and and connectors but no labels are there either. I am 64 years old with bad knees and bad back, but in order to get a replacement fan, I climbed up my 8' ladder to see if I could find the label(s). I did find two labels and took pictures which I sent to Marnie (however, they were not the ones she detailed for me in her email). I contacted her again and she told me to pay a rather large deposit for her to process the replacement. I email photos early this morning of the every label that I could find. She did not respond. I have the the original warranty paperwork that came with the fan and nowhere does it say that I must jump through such difficult hoops to get it honored. VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE! DO NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY. Monte Carlo Celing Fan Company was very helpful. I still have a fan that does not work, am out $364 and a company (Hansen) that does not honor their customer commitment. If I could give NO STARS, I would. "
