"We knew our organization, and the people we serve, could only benefit from having an on-site AED. I mean, it's a machine that can greatly increase the chance of saving someones life. But, and I say this with a rather sinking and sickening feeling in the pit of my stomach, if you can't afford to own one, then you simply cannot afford to own one. There are more things financially to consider than just the initial purchase price. The cost of batteries, pads (both infant/child and adult ones), etc. These continual costs do matter. Heartsmart not only presented us with affordables prices that we could realistically wrap our budgets around, but they could not have made this process of initial and continual ownership any easier. Fast forward to today, we have our machine and the training DVD with the unit made understanding and potentially deploying our AED a lot less scary. As a staff, we feel ready to use it should that type of emergency arise. Thank you, Heartsmart!
P.S. Be sure to check with your local EMS when it comes to AED's. They may be willing to help you with replacing your Pads should you have to deploy your AED. At least our local EMS does."
