"I placed an order for Kicker speakers from HiFiSoundconnection just before I left on a week long vacation. The price was low, but it was not impossibly cheap when compared with prices other sellers were also advertising. The website looked good, functioned well, and offered a large inventory of audio products. The site also indicated that the item I ordered was in stock, and available to ship. When I returned just over a week later, the shipment had not arrived as I expected.
So, I logged into my HiFiSoundconnection account to look for tracking information. The tracing info box showed only N/A. So, I began to try and call them. Never could speak to a live person after several calls over a 2 day period. Also tried Live Chat from their website with no answer. So, I finally sent an email on 8-4 requesting a credit to my card if the product was not available.
I received an answer back the same day that the speakers were not available, and with 2 choices for me to select from; (1) wait for them to arrive in stock and be shipped, or (2) use the amount paid as a store credit with HFSC. Neither of these options were acceptable to me, so I emailed back and asked again that my card be credited.
The next day I received an email answer that Kicker was supposed to ship any day, and back orders would be shipping out, but with no firm estimate of an actual ship date to me. This was still not acceptable to me, and did not in any way address my request for a credit from my previous message. I then emailed back again after several more attempts to contact the company by phone. I asked that if the item could not be shipped out before the end of the calender week, I wanted the order canceled and my Amex credited. When I received no response, I then visited this website (resellerratings.com) and read the long list of reviews about HFSC, finding about 1 in 10 to be from very unhappy customers. Had I read these prior to placing my order, I would not have made this purchase in the first place. I figured then that I would most likely have to dispute this purchase with Amex, and suffer through the process of getting a permanent credit to my card.
Five days later I finally received another email back stating I would not be able to get the speakers anywhere else either, and they were trying to get an ETA on delivery. I found this last message to be even more non-responsive than the earlier ones, as I had never mentioned I would be trying to find the product from another seller. At that moment decided I had truly had enough.
So, after a quick call, I have now disputed the charge with Amex, and will most likely have to write a letter to them explaining all of this again in detail. Online customer service is often not as good as we hope it to be, but I have seldom found a company as non-responsive as HiFiSoundconnection. It is my opinion that a company reflects the personality of its owner, and therefor can seldom change. It is not my intent in writing this review to get anything from HFSC, or encourage them to change in any way. It is my intent however, to simply remind others that we have choices when we shop. My experience with this company has been so awful that there is absolutely nothing they can do to satisfy me now. Even if the product was offered to me at no charge I would be distrustful that it would actually happen. I have stated very clearly in my last email that any shipment from them will be refused when it arrives. I simply want the charge reversed, and to forget about the whole matter.
I recommend that anyone considering making a purchase from this company weigh in their own mind the pros of a low price with the possible con of a buying experience similar to mine and other unhappy reviewers of HiFiSoundconnection who have taken the time to write reviews here. For some this has been a good experience, but for quite a few of us it has been nothing but frustrating.
08-22-2009 I did receive my refund shortly after this review was first posted here (on August 13). Should have happened much sooner, but at least it finally got resolved. Then, I had to call Amex again, and cancel my dispute of the original transaction.
But, the most remarkable thing is that 9 days later I received another email from HiFiSoundconnection asking that I remove this review because they "don't need this posted on the internet". Quite preposterous in my opinion, that I would no longer want to tell other prospective shoppers about my bad experience.
Hopefully I will never hear from them again, and I will not have to take the time to write any more answers to them and update this story."

"I LOVE the Pioneer Inno2 Portable XM Radio! I bought this from HiFi Sound Connection because it was much more worth it to buy a refurbished one for much less than an a new unit.
The refurbished unit comes with everything a new unit has: the Inno of course, a battery, a home cradle, an RCA audio cable, a wall charger, a pair of in-ear headbuds, a remote, a travel power cable, USB cable, a protective case, product documentation (Quick Start Guide and User Manual), and the XM+Napster installation CD. There are a few minor cosmetic scratches on the edges of the unit, but it does not have an effect whatsoever on the performance of the unit. The screen is covered with a protective plastic film like when you buy a new unit.
After you activate the radio, you should receive all of your channels in a few minutes. The channels will be text-labeled when you first get the channel list as the downloaded graphic logos have not been saved on the unit, but the logos will slowly appear and should be completely visible within six hours.
Since I primarily use this in the car, I just applied Velcro on my dashboard and on the bottom of the cradle to keep it from moving around and falling as I drive. Additionally, I bought a car charger and an on-roof car antenna so I can get the best reception and so I would not run out of battery on the gadget. I also used a stereo cable to connect the cradle to the auxiliary input in my car's audio system. Whenever I leave the car, I just remove the unit from the cradle so as to not entice car radio thieves.
One unique feature that I like on the unit is that you can record live music onto its on-board 1 GB memory and listen to your favorite songs whenever there is nothing else you want to hear on live radio. Even if you forget to record a song and it has been playing a few minutes (10 minutes maximum), then you can still record the whole entire song as long as you have been tuned to the station when the song started. However, you could not rewind back and record the previous song on live radio even though the manual stated that there is a ten-minute buffer since the buffer only applies to one song at a time. The songs you save will stay in memory as long as they have not been overwritten (if you have low space) and if you are continually subscribed to the SiriusXM Satellite service and receiving its reception. Also, you cannot transfer and save recorded content onto your computer through USB. The only way you would save the music is through the analog loophole by playing songs on the Inno as they are recorded through your computer's line-in jack.
I like the fact they they included a case, so that I would not have to buy an expensive third-party brand and also that they included a remote, so that I would not have to reach over to the radio as I drive or if I am too lazy to reach over and change the channel as I lay down on the couch. The unit is solidly built and does not feel like it is hastily made, so I would like to give kudos to the engineers over there at Pioneer.
Overall, I am pleased with my purchase of this radio and would recommend this unit to anyone who likes a portable and inexpensive way to listen to the various channels on their satellite radio service."

"I ordered an in-line noise filter from this site for $36.17 for my car stereo. Let me first say that I have used these devices in the past and was familiar with the how to install this product correctly. After installing their product, it was obvious it didn’t function at all. I contacted customer service to inquire about their return policy and I did receive a quick response with a very lengthy full page of directions on exactly how a return must be handled and who it must be shipped with (they made it clear that any deviation from their exact directions would result in them ignoring my return). I read all of this carefully and returned the product exactly as directed.
Essentially, after paying to ship this faulty product back to them at my expense, they have completely ignored my return.
My best advice would be DO NOT PURCHASE FROM HI FI SOUNDCONNECTION. There are so many reputable companies such as Crutchfield out there on the web…please do yourselves a favor and use them instead. Piece of mind knowing you are dealing with a reputable company versus these rip-off artists is definitely worth a couple of extra dollars.

"I ordered two boxes from you and the first one had the wrong dimensions on the web page. So I called your customer service and you would not let me return it. So I bought another box on an understanding that if it did not fit I would be able to return it. When I received the box it did not fit and was not completely sealed. So I called back and explained that it was the wrong size and not sealed correctly, and would like to return it. Ben told me that there was no way I could return after he had already guaranteed me that if it did not fit he would return it, and refund my money or exchange it. So he changed the subject and tried to sell me two single woofer enclosures, entirely disregarding the companys' guarantee. Then when confronted about it he hung up the phone and blocked my number so I couldn't call back. If someone guarantees something they should stand by it. That's when I contacted the BBB to help me with this issue. I will NEVER do business with hifisoundconnection again. This behavior is why people still do not fully trust or have faith in shopping on the internet. I can only imagine how many more people this has happened to. Let's hope your company isn't as good as it's guarantees. I want a refund and will return said enclosures in the condition I received them in. With paid shipping from hifisoundconnection of course. I hope this review helps consumers make a decision or at least be more cautious when shopping on the internet.
No one from my house made a threat to you. Why do you feel the need to make that up? How is posting the wrong dimensions of a box my fault? I don't understand how that is my fault. It sounds like someone at your company made a mistake. You just don't honor your guarantees and that's fine with me next time I purchase a box it will be from a respectable dealer in my area. We will gladly refund the purchase price but we can not pay freight back and forth due to your error as we explained to you multiple times. This is also clearly spelled out in the return policy on boxes and custom made items. You were blocked from calling our business due to your threats to employees ect over a $30 purchase. I would advise you to stick to your local retail stores in the future and pay $150 for the same item.
