"When I started my long research I had quite specific requirements for a new laptop in mind. I needed a mobile workstation that would basically not give me any headache while working with 3D (dev), realtime video rendering (VJ), etc., and that would keep up on the high level of productivity for at least 2-3 years ahead (/ would have upgradable main components).
After weeks of research and studying lots of data (benchmarks, pros and cons on each big and small possible component, etc.) I narrowed my list to few custom/gaming models. After not finding great CPU _and_ [not crazy-pricey] "top-of-the-shelf" GPU _and_ 4K screen on 17" TOGETHER (all four) in any of these models but one - I was confident that I found, really, the only option that fits ALL my needs. However, this exact combination was mentioned as an option for this model, but in the reality only 3 stores/retailers were offering it (yup, the first who started selling it). One was in Australia, one - in Canada, and the only one in the U.S. -- HIDevolution. And - what a luck! - with a physical location in my city!
I gave them a call, stopped by their location, met Ted. He showed me the model I was considering paying quite a price for (and, surely, needed to take a very thorough look at), he answered ALL of my questions (and I had a list of them after 3 weeks+ of the research!) and did it perfectly professionally! The whole first-time experience there was very satisfying. The location is not an office, but rather a place where all the computers get built, and I got to see the towers and towers of branded boxes here and there. This and the conversation we've had with Ted made me feel that these guys are the "True Custom Laptops' Geeks", and, seriously, that's the best kind of place I could have dreamed to find for the task I had; These guys are not your regular BestB*y or whatever big computer retail store we're all used to, so don't expect the kind of sale/customer support like a company with hundreds of representatives on "call-800" hot line can provide. But DO expect a human face on this business. As well as a great job getting you your desired computer. When the requirements are high ;) and you're willing to pay big money for your perfect machine - you don't want to compromise, even on the little things. These guys provided me with a full control over customization, built it fast, and I had the one thing I was dreaming of for a long time here on my hands in about a week. Before I placed my order I saw some bad reviews, but I decided to give it a try and didn't regret it since. Mostly, bad reviews are about customer service/general communication issues. I've figured what could be a reason after I visited them and talked. That's, again, not a giant retailer, but a business that grew on a lot of work of originally just few guys. Those guys are not only professionals, but real enthusiasts, which for me is probably the most important quality for someone whom I trust to build my custom workstation. They are bigger now, they have all the things a "big business" supposed to have, but if some of it isn't working perfectly smooth -- don't get upset right away, put a little bit more effort into the communication, a little bit more human-to-human-like communication rather than the familiar customer-to-corporation style. Cos they're not a corporation with no face, yet. And personally I think - this is sort of a treasure :)

Amazing experience dealing with HIDEvolution.

"Well i recently purchased the Clevo P870DM-G from HIDEvolution, this was last week. It was amazing how fast they were able to get the system setup, tested and shipped out in time for me to get it before i have to out of town. Kudos to everyone at HIDE.

March 1 - Order Placed super late in the Evening, and next business day wire transfer scheduled.
March 2 - HIDEvolution, order processed, awaiting payment.

Bank Of America decided to derp out and the transfer didn't go through until Friday the 4th.(Even though i paid an additional fee for next business day)
March 9 - System shipped by end of day and delivered on Friday afternoon.

All in all it was great dealing with @Ted@HIDevolution , and for him to keep with my daily annoying status update requests :P
Big thanks to him and others at HIDE for accommodating my rather tight deadline, to get the system in. Will definitely deal with them again.

"I recently bought a MSI WT72 6QM-423US Workstation Xeon E3-1505M 2.8GHz 8G M5000M 32G RAM 256G RAID SSD 1TB HDD 17.3" from HID Evolution.

I placed an order and then made the money transfer for the cash discount. Not being 100% on how to order something custom like this with a large price tag, I decided to make a call to the company to ensure everything was on the up and up. The young lady I spoke with (while not 100% knowledgeable) did get me the answers I needed.

When my order went to build, I was contacted immediately by Ken about issues that were not possible based on what I selected from the site. Not knowing what was possible, I advised them of the ultimate goal of the laptop was supposed to be and they provided the best option; even saving me money on the purchase. In the end, I asked the simple question everyone asks... When is my order going to ship. I was provided a date, but the date came and went. I contacted them the day after to confirm there were no other issues, and was replied almost immediately with the tracking order saying that it did ship on time and was scheduled to be received the following day.

When I received the laptop, I immediately began running every 3D program I have simultaneously to try and see how the load was on the system. No issues, I went from one program to the other, sending files and loading high poly count models at the same time. No issues, the system did not feel hot as I have had with previous laptops.

I then loaded a game and set all graphics to high and proceeded to play it. I was able to run the system with no loading or lag issues for hours, again no physical heat to the laptop.

I am very impressed with the custom work that was done to my laptop.

They Changed my mind!

"Despite a rough start Hidevolution.com really changed my mind. They were extremely helpful in all my questions and that personal touch made all the difference to me.. I was treated as an individual and not as a number. We were on a first name basis with most of the people who worked there. They definitely earned my trust and respect.

Never again....

"I have been a loyal customer of HIDevolution for the last 2 years during this time I have bought from them 4 laptops (3 MSI and the last one a Lenovo P50) and I always thought that they were superb on their customer attention but I was wrong and I will explain why on this review.

The last laptop I bought from them was a ThinkPad P50 and the main reasons that made me buy from them was the good customer service I received in the past from them but this last time I was really disappointed with the service overall, before buying this laptop as any other laptop I always make lots of questions in order to get the facts right and make sure that laptop I'm looking for is the one they are offering on their website and also considering the price tag on this model which was $2.182 USD so I needed to make sure that what I was going to buy was going to be there on that product all the features and options offered on their website.

Always during this pre-sale process the customer service attention has always been very good you can get to any of the customer representative in seconds and they answer your questions, even if it is a 30 minutes chat session and they don't keep you on hold, but once you have bought the product from them is another history like other customers that I have seen their experiences here with HIDevolution, to get a hold from them gets a bit hard, they keep you on hold for some minutes, one time I was kept on hold for about 20 minutes, this is not how you look after loyal customers, anyway with this laptop the ThinkPad P50 I was told by Ted that RAID option which was one of the reasons why I went to buy from them I was advised by him that even if I didn't select the RAID configuration option on their website I was going to be able to setup RAID form my end, a few times I asked this same question and Ted assured me "Yes you will be able to setup RAID from your end" but once I bought this unit from them and received it I got really disappointed for the fact this option wasn't enable on the BIOS, they said to me that they didn't know about this, that they were caught by surprise, so my question to them was how can you advertise or offer a product on your website that you don't know has some features knowing these features are the ones customers are looking for, this is not the way to make loyal customers or attract new ones.

They then said to me that they went back to Lenovo in the US to find out why these P50 and P70 didn’t have RAID enabled on the BIOS, later I was told that apparently Lenovo supplied to them a test BIOS that will enabled the RAID on the P50 and P70 and that it will take a few days to test it well and make sure that will work before sending it to the costumers who bought these models from them, however when I first received the P50 I had some issues at first boot up I started to have BSOD, I spend like three hours figuring out what could be the reason and I communicated this to them (Ted) I was decided to return them to them but them after I decided to try something else and managed to get this issue with the BSOD sorted.

Also this unit came with a quality issue that is common with this models a noise on the right hand side hinge, so this issue additional to the RAID problem for which I waited like two weeks to receive that famous BIOS to enable the RAID on the laptop made me decide to return this laptop back to them for a refund but them they offer me to exchange the laptop for a new one which for me was acceptable despite the fact that I was thinking once they have refunded the money to wait a bit longer for them to have their units with RAID enabled and buy from them again, so accepted the offer to have the laptop returned and they will send me a new one once they receive the faulty one from me obviously if you are outside the US you will have to pay for the return labels even if the laptop is DAO.

So they sent me a PayPal invoice for the return labels with FedEx, I made the payment as normal and next day I went to the Chat session with one of its customer representatives who was looking after my account Donald is his name and I just wanted to let him know that I paid the invoice from PayPal for the return labels of the laptop I was sending back to them in order to get the new one and the response I received from this person turn me down I started the chat session, so this got me really disappointed and decide to cancel the order for the new laptop they were going to send me.

To resume my last experience with them: VERY DISSAPOINTED customer service and I won’t be buying from them in the future, they look really good after you when you are about to buy from them but after the customer service gets really poor so you become just another number for them.

"So I ordered the CLEVO P770DM-G at first, as HIDevolution started to build it, I came to know that a new model (the P870DM-G) will be released soon as I asked them about it and they said if I wanted the newer one, they would be happy to cancel my order and let me pre-order the P870DM-G.

So I pre-ordered the P870DM-G on the 28th of October not hoping to get it before the end of November since noone really knew at that time the actual release date.

To my surprise, HIDevolution were among the first resellers that had it in stock and although it took 1 day to start the production of the machine after they received it, Vivian from HIDevolution made up for that 1 delay by going above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect, she was chatting with me on Skype while building the machine and sending me photos of every step she was doing I almost felt I was there in the USA @ HIDevolution's head quarters watching it being built. She showed me how she applied the Liquid Ultra Thermal Paste, installation of the Samsusng 950 PRO NVME m.2 SSDs, etc. after she was done with the hardware installation, she installed Windows/Drivers then let me connect to my system via TeamViewer to perform all the tweaks/customizations I wanted so that when I received it, it was ready to be used straight away.

She even worked overtime 2 extra hours to finish the whole job in one day.

Next day, she performed stringent tests and quality control on the machine ensuring the screen had no dead pixels or light bleeding, monitored GPU/CPU temps, etc.

Then comes the icing on the cake, I had paid for standard shipping, but HIDevolution shipped it internationally to Dubai using FedEx Priority International Shipping so I received my laptop within 24 hours!

I cannot express my gratitude towards HIDevolution, the quality, the packaging, all was perfect and beyond what I expected.

They are a very honest and transparent company as well. 4 months ago I ordered an Alienware Area 51 Desktop from them for $9,000 USD and as they started building it, I changed my mind, they didn't complain or say anything and happily refunded my money. I trust this company so much after all we have been through.

"I recently had a very good experience with HIDevolution, over the phone they are all polite and patient. I had first bought a Gigabyte P35v4 which didn't work for me, because of Optimus technology, so I was going to exchange for a Clevo p750zm.

After I had already placed my order, while speaking to the infamous Ted, he told me they had already the new Clevo p750dm-g. It turned out that the whole rig was actually 100 dollars cheaper than my previous order for some reason AND faster!

The machine took a little over a week to arrive, but just in time so I can continue with my research in my Master's in Computer Graphics.

Very satisfied with them, would definitely buy my next machine with them, when the time comes.

"After searching for a high-powered laptop, we decided on the MSI. We called HIDevolution which was advertising the MSI as one of many brands they handle. We talked with Ted. After discussing our needs he directed us to model 1667. We were pleased they were not only willing to customize it (adding and deducting from the default choices) but also to find out that customizing is their specialty. Also pleased to find they do a burn-in for each computer before shipping. This takes a day or two but is well worth the wait which prevents receiving a DOA product. We gladly paid a $50 rush fee for customizing and burn-in to go to the head of the line and are glad we did.

We ordered two identical laptops with backpacks for transporting around while traveling. One shipped to England and one to US. The orders placed on a Monday and Tuesday and both shipped on Wednesday and both were received on Friday, only two days later. They took an extra day to test one of them due to their workload but they upgraded to 2-day AIR shipping at their expense to compensate.

We have bought many computers over the years and have never found a company or a staff member (Ted) that provided a more complete and satisfying shopping experience. There are no words in the English vocabulary that could adequately express our appreciation for the personalized service from Ted and everyone else that was involved. Even the email replies were lightening fast.

In the future, we will not need to shop, we will just contact HIDevolution!

Ted nor anyone else asked us to write a review. We asked them how to publicize our great satisfaction.

THANK YOU TED and HIDevolution! You guys are GOOD as GOLD!
