"I ordered the case study daybed through Hive and called them beforehand to inquire about shipping charges/service, what to do in case there are damages to the product etc. I was told specifically that paying for inside service would include unpacking of the item and removal of packing material. When the delivery guys showed up at my house however they said this service was not included. When I called Hive to inquire about this confusion they said basically there are only seven people who work there are no one makes mistakes. There was no apology and even the slightest consideration someone there may have been mistaken about the delivery options with this particular item. Although the furniture is lovely I would most likely not order through Hive again. If there are customer service or damage issues I would not be confident they would be able to or even want to help me in any way. Better to order directly from the manufacturer even if it costs a little bit more.

Update - Hive did refund the delivery fee as noted. I appreciate their response to my feedback and have updated this review.

we apologize for any confusion regarding the delivery service level. the vendor on this product offers only two delivery options through their agent: curbside or inside (into the front door). we regret a white glove service option is not available.

"First: I love the bed! Full satisfaction on that! My dissatisfaction is with the DELIVERY. Although I paid $200 (!) for INSIDE delivery, I almost had to force the guys to actually do that!
Why don't you offer "white glove delivery"? Bring furniture inside, unpack, and assemble. That would be worth $200.
If you ask customers to assemble furniture themselves, at least include instructions - I had to download them from the website. Also, you can't expect people to have a deluxe version of a tool box.

"Since posting my review they solved my problem so here is an update. They accepted the lamp back for a full refund only after I posted this review. When I contacted them they said no returns. Also I find it a bit deceiving that the no returns accepted policy is buried at the bottom of the site in small print. Most places that do not take returns clearly point that out before you hit purchase. With online purchase one generally assumes they can be returned."
