"I am a contractor on Home Advisor. The public needs to know that if Home Advisor gives you a contractors phone number or a homeowner picks a contractor from their website the contractor gets charged a fee for the privilege to give an estimate for that project. If you get 5 bids all 5 contractors get charged the same fee whether they get the job or not. If a homeowner doesn't want to move forward with the job or is just wondering how much a job will cost the contractors still get charged for the lead . Home Advisor will not refund a bad lead. If they cannot get a hold of the homeowner who requested an estimate for a job, HomeAdvisor will call that customer ONCE and if they don't call them back the lead is STILL charged to the contractor. This is a serious problem for the contractors and should be taken more seriously . Home Advisor is making big money on everyone it's contractors.It is a two way street and HA need to work with us as some of the leads are fake ."
