In one case, another contractors we got off the site and didn't hire, American Construction Pro aka A+ Construction, sent a very incompetent person for the estimate, and I really felt that they were untrustworthy based on how they estimate and their lack of professionalism. Another, way overdid the project. So, sadly, my experience with Home Advisor is seriously tainted by my contractor experiences. Making it easier to get bad contractors isn't what I needed, but that's not your fault."
