"I signed up with home advisor as a contractor looking for opportunities to bid on. I paid in excess of $1,000 just to get started and looked forward to my first opportunity. It came on time, but the customer was undecided on if they even wanted to have work done! It was a soft lead at best, and a couple hundred bucks out of my pocket! This goes on for the rest of the month, one bad lead after the other. I couldn't afford the cost at the rate it was returning, and decided to cancel my service online. 15 days later, I am reciving opportunities again. I am charged another 500$. I call and explain the situation, that I hadn't opened a single opportunity they sent, and that even if I had opened the email, the information is through a link to their online portal, and they would clearly see my account activity. I was informed that if I did not pay another FULL MONTH of opportunities they would trash my credit by sending it to collections. If I could give a negative rating I would.
There was no success in speaking to customer success. 10/10 would not "

We also do not have a way to cancel your account online, you do need to call Customer Care in order to do that which would explain why your account was not cancelled at that time. Additionally, an account will only be sent to an outside collection agency if there is a pre-existing unpaid balance on the account.
