"I was told the item I ordered was in stock and was coming from Long Island and would arrive within 1 or 2 days, if I placed the order before 1:00 PM, which I did. 3 days later, after contacting Phil every day, I found out from UPS that the item was only just entering their system. I just got the item... 6 days after placing the order. This has held up the installation of my kitchen counter top and now I have to wait another 2 days for that because I couldn't tell them with certainty when the faucet was coming. I wish Phil would have been honest with me about when the order was placed and shipped. I was also overcharged for sales tax. Not enough to make a big deal over, but nevertheless, this experience was not a good one over all. "
"My worst experience ordering online. Said it would ship in 4 days and I would receive email confirmation of shipping. Never got confirmation, called, until their check clears with company they ordered from, it can't be shipped. Already charged my credit card. I should get it "Hopefully within a few weeks" I can't cancel without a 4% credit card processing fee. Amazon could have shipped in 3-5 business days. What was I thinking?"

I do not recommend buying anything from homecenter.com. They are weak in all the areas you’d expect a distributor to have key competencies in (order tracking, customer service, communication, etc.). I placed an order online assuming that it was available (it didn’t indicate out of stock but shame on me for not calling to check). Once I clicked purchased, I discovered that it wouldn’t ship out for 2 weeks. I called customer service and they confirmed that they didn’t have any of the product in stock and it wouldn’t ship for 2 weeks. I told him that I wanted to cancel my order because I needed the product before then. He instructed me to send an email to some mailbox. Then, over the next several days, I got email messages asking me if I wanted to pay more to get the product sooner because they could possibly find the product in stock at one of their “partners” – whatever that means. I replied that I didn’t want to do that and that I canceled my order. About 1 week after I placed the order, I get an email that my order was shipped 1 day after I placed the order. Now, how can that be unless homecenter.com is running an awful operation? To top it off, the tracking number given to me was incorrect. Now I’m stuck with the product shipping to me (I already bought it through amazon and have received it) and have to figure out how to return it. If you want a pleasant experience, stick with another distributor – like amazon.com – nice and reliable."

Ordered a vanity top from them 09/14/2010. They charged my card right away (of course) than wrote me an email that my order would be delivered 10/13/2010.
That date rolled around and nothing! I wrote them and Stacey said she would check her warehouse/vendor. What about the Federal Trade Commission 30 day rule? So far, nothing!
I've filed complaints with every entity I can including the State of NY Attorney Generals' Office.
I'm not the only one who has complaints about this company!"
"wow... ordered a stainless sink and recieved a damaged unit.. Was willing to purchase second sink and return this one so installers could get my granite installed..
I called the store and got some bully guy on the phone that was obviously having a very bad day was not any help.. After relaying story all I got was a "so what do you want me to do about it?" rather than "let me help you"..
I happen to order for a couple contractors and glad this was not a typical order.. Have never been so poorly treated by a retailer in 30 years of ordering.. I am pretty much willing to just take this $400 loss and consider myself lucky... WILL update if the situation changes but at this point, I am most disappointed in my choice of vendors... I should have stuck with "Overstock.com" as they had the identical sink for a few bucks less.. just figured a smaller merchant might want some business and was hoping for a better relationship... Guess the poor ratings are this way for a reason.. wish I had found this sooner..
UPDATE: Brian, my order was 55465835, my issue was reported within hours of receiving the damaged sink.. I followed up within 24 hours with phone call due to time issue with granite installers.
The only resolution that I will find acceptable is a full refund..

"Buying from this site has been a disaster. The service is simply awful.
The prices as listed are for certain very low yet there is no reasonable delivery window however so those 'low prices' are a facade. I ordered on 8/30 and on 9/30 I have less then 25% completed. I told the account handler I specificity needed the bathtub sent ASAP; he lied and said no problem.
The man was out of town for a week with no one else at the company to take my calls on the matter, he did not fill any of the order within two weeks of my paying for it, he had me pay an extra shipping to get the needed goods rushed out ahead of one 'last item' they were waiting on to arrive and all those items STILL HAVE NOT MOVED and more crap I could share went on. Every phone call- when I can get through to him- he tells me the goods will be here in a few days, same line week in and week out with no delivery (up to a month now for the waiting total)!
30 days to ship one tub and they can't do that?! What a farce of a company. I tell people to avoid this site. No calls backs to my messages left, no email replies to the questions I had and in 30 days only three items of twenty five have arrived... via UPS ground. Not even decent FedEx service from them! This site is an unfunny joke!
The $1300 I “saved” in up front costs (their lower prices) by ordering from them was lost in not getting the goods on site in a fair time frame for delivery; costs added up. Workmen just sitting there and the project stalled in two phases since the tub is not on site.
If I knew these guys can't ship what they have listed for sale then I would have gone to the 100 other sites that sell the same goods. 25 items for $3k total is not a massive order to process. These guys are unprofessional in their delivery to the customer of what was paid for. I am GLAD I did not order any more from this site.
I could write more but the picture has been painted: Don't use this site unless you only want to order one faucet- maybe they can get something simple like that done correctly. That or only order from them if you can wait 6-8 weeks to get the goods you need...

"They have the best prices by a few percent over anyone on the web - typically by 5-10%. The issue is you NEVER know when you are going to receive anything and good luck actually talking to someone. You can call their sales line but they'll route you to your customer service representative's voicemail who is ALWAYS at lunch (I've called at 9am their time, 11am their time, 3pm their time and 5pm their time and the same person is ALWAYS at lunch). Things WILL arrive late and you will NOT be notified until well after your expected date. If you have a timeline you must hit, I would recommend paying 5-10% more somewhere else. But if have weeks to months to wait, by all means, save the 5-10%. My order was placed 6 weeks ago...was told 2 weeks leadtime for EVERYTHING...nothing shipped within 2 weeks and I was just told today that the last bit of my order is on backorder another 4 weeks - for a total of 10 WEEKS leadtime - after confirming everything was 2 week leadtime.
I've emailed their CEO, threatened action and you might as well be yelling at a tree. They DO NOT CARE and DO NOT RESPOND. Great prices...great selection...but only if you don't mind waiting for a LONG time without any chance of knowing when you'll receive your merchandise."

2 - Your products will arrive on different days in different pieces
3 - Customer service will not acknowledge any issues with shipping or your order
4 - If you do receive an incorrect part (which I did) they will not honour their return policy nor answer any emails
5 - Customer service reps are extremely rude, pushy and I was hung up on
I ended up spending over $400 to correct the issue by purchasing the part from the manufacturer and paying for my plumber to come a second time to finish the work he was unable to originally. All this time I received no response from homecenter.com
I finally received an email from them today informing my my request for return was denied as it was past the 30 day limit. I have record of at least 5 emails and 3 phone calls to them requesting the return within a day of receiving the parts.

"Customer service nightmare, same story as several others on here. Was told the item was in stock, it was not. Ship date was too long to wait for the product so I needed to cancel. Cannot get anyone to cancel the order either on the phone or via email. I have since contacted my credit card company and opened a dispute. I am working with the BBB as well. What they are doing is a crime!

"I was one of the fortunate ones who received my order within a week; however, I will never order from this company again, based solely on the fact that there is absolutely no customer service. The phone system is bogus, as it is impossible to talk to anyone about an existing order. Emails and voicemails went unanswered and ship dates were inaccurate. I was never given tracking information, even though I requested it twice via email. Today is 9/2, and I received the final piece of my order yesterday, yet the status of my order still says 'In the Shipping Process and/or Awaiting Shipment.' Those are two very different order statuses and are not interchangeable. If you value good customer service, this is NOT the company for you."
"Very disappointed in customer service from HomeCenter.com. I ordered lights 7/7/10. I received three different ship dates, each being later than the one before. The latest one...8/19/10. I emailed twice to inquire about my order, received a quick acknowledgement, but no follow up to tell me of any problem. I finally called 8/23/10 and was told that my order never went through. The items were being discontinued. Seems to me that I should have been contacted with this info long before today. My credit card was charged asap when I made the order. I should have been notified of a problem just as quickly. "
